i've wanted to try their sf location for the longest time but never had a chance. i'm not typically available for weekday meals but had to run errands and saw they offered a happy hour menu. we decided to try it out because i've heard so many great things we ordered: - lil brg + truffle fries ~ $6 - giant meatball ~ $6 - mushroom arancini ~ $6 - tuna tartare taco ~ $9 - stk cheeseburger ~ $9 they accidentally input a5 wagyu tacos instead of the tuna tartare so we actually had a chance to try it. it was actually pretty good, fatty as you would expect. however, it may not be a must order for me personally. the tuna tartare on the other hand, amazing! both taco options come in 2 pieces which is fairly reasonable as the quality was quite nice. the tuna one tasted very fresh and it comes in a shell made of some root chip i think which was light, crisp, and not overpowering. i honestly would come and order a few orders of that. the cheeseburger wasn't anything outstanding, but it was simple and reliable. for the price, probably the best value item on the hh menu. the chips on the side were amazing, i loved the texture and thickness of them. i preferred the lil brg which i think was made with a higher quality meat? (could be mistaken) but the meat was also juicier, too. the truffle fries that come with it were very fragrant and not skimpy on the truffle taste at all. the mushroom arancini is tasty but VERY creamy which somewhat feels a little too heavy to enjoy. i would order it again though so perhaps the flavor is still worth it. the giant meatballs are a classic, nothing special yet still yummy. they indeed are giant. there is no strictness to dress code which i was worried about but it was very casual environment when we visited. as great as the food experience was, the service was lacking. i understand being busy and having to manage many tables but the manager checked in on us more than our own server. it took lots of time to get attention and when we were ready to pay, he came to the table and made note that we were finished but didn't bring the bill until the second time after being informed we were done and wanted to pay :(

Great happy hour selection of food and drink deals. A wide variety of bite size appetizers and premium cocktails. Pleasantly surprised. Friendly and fast service at the bar area.

Loved it! Popped in for HH on a Friday with a few children. We only ate off the HH menu. Service was excellent, we had Matthew and he was extremely pleasant and attentive. In addition, the entire staff was on it! Most portions on HH are small, except foe the burger. That thing was HUGE! Kids loved the calamari, the popcorn chicken was seasoned extremely well, stk and fries was small but tasty, the mushroom arancini had great flavor and the oysters were good. Great location, service and menu. HH is until 6:30p M-F.

We came in for happy hour a little bit before 9pm and we were sat promptly and at a long table . I was so happy we were sat with Mary our favorite server here! She's funny and kind and quick getting us whatever we need. 15 people strong and per usual Mary was amazing she always helps us figure our what would be the best choice for food and drink. The oysters were fresh and everyone loved their burgers. My favorite drink will always be the not your daddy's old fashioned. We have come here at least 15 times and every time the restaurant vibe is amazing! We will continue coming back!

I was revisiting this place again too see if thing got any better, but really the only thing got better is service, from host to server were great, super welcoming and friend and professional, as far as the food testing it still not what this level restaurant should be, didn't really like anything, place is clean and vary nice though

I've known about STK for at least 10 years now, from my days in Georgia but this was my first visit. I honestly think they could have chosen a better location for what's supposed to be a more upscale restaurant. The interior was really nice, new, modern and trendy. But they could have done without the giant cow in the middle of the room lol. We went on a Sunday and honestly the only reason we went was because my husband saw they had a 3 course special for $49. Honestly such a steal and the reason for the 4 stars. If not for the pre fix menu, this was a 3 star meal. Service was good, not great. Our waitress could have been more attentive. I ordered the Caesar salad, salmon and mac and cheese. My husband ordered the filet, mini burger sliders and tater tots as the side. The food was good but not amazing. The salmon was overcooked, and the tator tots lacked flavor. It was good for the price though, but if we had to pay full price, definitely not worth it.

Valentines special 8 oz filet with 1/2 lobster tail

We got to the restaurant and for some reason they couldn't find our reservation(I showed them the name and confirmation number on my email reservation even). We reserved inside seating and unfortunately they sat us outside at the tiniest table right in the sun. All the food and drinks we ordered didn't even fit on the table so it didn't make sense and was frustrating. They broke a glass and dropped our oil for our bread right next to our table with minutes of each other so it was a bit loud and hectic. I really wish we were sat inside where we reserved. Our first thing we got was fresh bread. It was strange because it was cold. Not even warm. So we didn't partake. We ordered the special Filet 8 oz with 1/2 a lobster tail. Unfortunately the lobster tail was flavorless and the butter needed salt. It just tasted like nothing really. The béarnaise sauce needed something acidic like lemon, vinegar or white wine. It fell flat and definitely was missing something. We ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and unfortunately it was SO fishy and the bottom was completely black and burnt. I was shocked when paying $80+ for a piece of fish I would expect it to be cooked perfectly and not fishy. One of the two sides we got was Mac and cheese and it was cold so we didn't even eat that unfortunately. The 8 oz Filet was amazing, cooked perfectly, properly seasoned and so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes with the Parmesan crust were some of the best mashed potatoes! The Parmesan crust took it to another level. We could have easily ordered two orders of these!

The happy hour at STK is top tier. I think out of all the happy hours I go to, STK is where you get the most bang for your buck. I also always get amazing service at this specific STK. All waitstaff and bartenders are really nice and attentive. The ambiance is very lively and fun as well! Great happy hour food too.

Terrific service. Pretty good HH. Prices are on the high end for the size of the portions but it was nice to try different items in smaller portions. My hubby joined their rewards program so we had $50 which worked on HH food no alcohol is included when using the $50 reward. Food was good although I couldn't taste the A5 Japanese wagyu in the mini taco so I won't be getting that again. Also on the slider my bun was very hard and crispy on the bottom (I don't know if this is normal for their sliders) not a fan. The short rib quesadilla was hot, juicy and full of flavor. I also like the pastrami salmon cones. Some of the truffle fries did not have the truffle flavor (needs consistency). The STK frites were fine but I think the filet was overdone and dry. Not enough beef flavor but plenty of sauce flavor. Crispy calamari was ok but I don't think id order again although the aïoli sauce was good. Drinks we ordered were mojito and Dragon Flare. The mojito was not too sweet which is exactly the way I enjoy that cocktail. My hubby liked his cocktail as well. His Dragon drink had strawberry and lemonade flavors and were very refreshing which he also thought a little sweet and tart. Love the casual and upscale feel of this place.

STK at Westfield Topanga is peak LA -- super vibey, energetic, and definitely feels like a "night out" spot more than a traditional steakhouse. The music, lighting, and overall atmosphere make it fun if you're celebrating, on a date, or just want that trendy Los Angeles vibe without going into the city. Service was the standout for me. Our server was attentive, polished, and timed everything really well. Drinks and food came out smoothly, and they checked in often enough to feel taken care of without being intrusive. Honestly, the excellent service is a big part of why I'd come back. Food was solid and enjoyable, but not mind-blowing -- more "overall alright" than unforgettable. That said, it's consistent with what you'd expect from a place like this: you're paying for the full experience (ambience + service + presentation) as much as the meal itself. The only real downside is the price. It's definitely pricey, and you'll feel it on the bill, especially if you're doing cocktails and sharing sides. If you go in expecting that and you're there for the vibes, you'll have a great time. Bottom line: great vibes, excellent service, good food, but you're paying a premium for the atmosphere. Worth it for the right occasion.

Happy Hour!

Best Happy Hour in the Valley! Get to try a taste of the quality and flavors, in a very chill vibe, definitely coming back.

Popped in for happy hour. A little mixed in terms of service and value of happy hour. Lets start with the happy hour value. Just about everything on the happy hour menu is very reasonably priced. The short rib quesadilla was my favorite. The burger was tasty as well. The service at the bar was pretty slow. Another family at a table left because they were waiting too long for their drinks. Felt a bit like the service you would get at an airport restaurant which is not compliment. Cotte (bartender) came in at the end of our time there and really flipped the energy and the vibe. Maybe a one off in terms of service and would still try again, worth a stop for sure during happy hour.

Mayi B.

STK has great modern decor, and the staff was very friendly. The manager was especially warm and welcoming. We went for happy hour, and it was okay overall. The oysters were good, and the quesadillas were tasty, Our server, Daniel, was very attentive and helpful, and his service really stood out.

We did overhear someone asking about the cocktails and if they could make it less sweet. But found out that they're premixed. The area is quite beautiful outside with the flowers overflowing at the bar. Nice outdoor patio with covered tables seating. There used to be a nice tree right in the middle but has been removed, maybe it died. There's also a nice water feature. Between inside or outside, outside was nicer in my opinion. Inside is more of a bar experience. And the bartender was sweet and friendly.

We decided to come back with friends but on a Wednesday night at 6:30 instead. Sat at a table in the area where the music was but it was very loud and tightly packed with tables and guests. I could barely hear my friends due to the loud conversations, loud laughter, and just the acoustic affects in the restaurant were bad from that. We ordered steak, sides, and thought baked potatoes but got mashed instead. After we ate dinner we asked the manager if we could seat outside for dessert instead due to the loud noises around us. He brought us there but we had to wait at the bar outside till we were seated took an additional 15-20 minutes. After seated it was better than inside with a nice decor too instead. Dessert was ok service good. For such a high-ended restaurant and pricy food it's only avarage, inside decor pretty but very and tightly packed with guests and loud especially for a week day night kind of unusual, I was disappointed think it's a bit overrated sorry to say. I think Flemings, Ruth Chris, or Morton's are better food wise for the same price and dining experience and not as loud too. Think what could make it better is to thin out the crowded packed affect in the main inside dining area would help a lot too, or, if we ever go back sit outside instead I recommend. The service and staff there were very nice, friendly, and attentive and worked hard during service though. So overall raiting is a 3. Tuesday music night inside was good though think because the band is set up where tables of guests would be so less talking and guests listening to the music instead. Hope they make some changes to there inside seating there for improvements will and could help overall.

Our server, Natalia, was very friendly and took great care of us. My wife wanted a simple cheeseburger, which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare as requested. We hadn't been here in a while, and she admitted she'd forgotten just how good the burgers are ("much better than the other pubs around," she said). I ordered the Banger Bites: slices of English sausages served with brown gravy that I augmented with Coleman's hot English mustard and some HP sauce. The bangers were crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a mild flavor accented by Earthy herbs. Toss in some whiskey, and we were off to the races. While we kept things simple this time (we HAD eaten popcorn at our movie), the menu boasts a wide variety of options, from burgers and sandwiches to pub faves like fish & chips, shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, Scotch eggs and so on; plus an assortment of starters that go well with games and beer (wings, nachos, sausage rolls, salads and a fantastic, house-made chili).
