We had such a great happy hour at STK with my daughter! Taylor greeted us and got us seated, and Abby took wonderful care of us from there. My daughter had the popcorn chicken because chicken fingers are basically her love language , and I came specifically for the steak frites on the happy hour menu. The béarnaise sauce was delicious! I also had a few oysters, which are always a favorite. I was on the fence about ordering a cocktail because I don't like drinks that are too sweet, and Abby recommended the Unchained Passion. She absolutely nailed it! It was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. Great food and even better service. Abby was friendly, attentive, and gave a fantastic recommendation. I live right across the street, so STK has become one of my go to happy hour spots whenever work allows. Abby made an already great experience even better. We'll definitely be back! read more

Visited on a Friday night and was surprised to find the place nearly empty -- not exactly the energy I expected for a weekend evening. The service, though, was excellent: attentive without hovering, and clearly not stretched thin given the light crowd. The food was mediocre -- nothing bad, but nothing that justified the price tag either, and honestly the main reason I won't be back. The ambience was a bit of a mismatch too: the music was loud and high-energy, like it was set for a packed house, but with barely anyone there it just felt off rather than lively. Great service alone isn't enough to bring me back -- for the price point, the food needs to deliver, and it just didn't. read more

Happy hour for the WIN! What a great happy, weekdays 2:30pm until 6:30pm, great menu and excellent prices and easy parking since it's located at the Westfield Topanga Mall. My favorites were the beef short rib quesadillas, Wagyu meatballs and crab and corn fritters. Everyone was friendly and food came out really quick. We went on a Wednesday so it wasn't busy at all although I did make a reservation. Surprised that that the restaurant itself was so empty. Canoga Park, Ca Located at the Westfield Field Mall. Reserved an early dinner for two at 4:30pm and we were seated right away at a table with a nice view. It was bright and airy inside, and they were playing lovely music. Noise level was comfortable - my SO and I can still have a conversation without screaming at each other. I find the tables not spaced well but since we were early; there were only a few customers, so I didn't mind. We chose the $49 per person menu, and it was a great value. The steak was tender and seasoned well, and the sides and salad were filling - I even took my salad home because it was a lot. Definitely worth the price and perfect for a date night without breaking the wallet. For drinks, I had the Guava Berry Kiss, which was refreshing, while my SO enjoyed the Spiced Watermelon. The place is stylish and very Instagram - friendly. Parking was easy, and our server was friendly and checked on us in a timely manner. A solid experience - recommended. I will come back. read more

I loved my drink; it tasted like I was drinking guava juice. My friend's watermelon drink was good too, but the pepper on the rim is actually quite spicy. For food, we tried a variety of items from the happy hour menu. Portions are pretty small for the price imo, and the items were hit or miss for me. We shared: Tater tots ($3 hh): these tots were humongous and cheesy. Would recommend! Pastrami salmon cone ($6 hh): thought these would be sushi rolls (temaki), so was shocked to see that they were actually served in mini crispy cones. I was very confused by this dish as I tasted the salmon but not pastrami as much, and I didn't like that it's served in a bed of uncooked rice which seems like a huge waste of rice to me Wagyu meatballs ($6 hh): my favorite hh dish! First time here, Wayne (our server) took good care of us. He explained the menu well and very accommodating. The food. We had their Filet, medium well and was cooked perfectly, it was seasoned good and tasty. The truffle fries on the side is a huge amount of serving that two people couldn't finished. Sadly Disappointed with STK Woodland Hills STK Woodland Hills was a major disappointment. We left the restaurant still hungry, unfulfilled, and wondering how a place can charge these prices for such incredibly small portions. The tuna tartare taco was less than bite-size. Like... WTF? The calamari was honestly the only thing we had that was just okay. Then came the wagyu tacos, which were served on a flour tortilla. What?! Who does that? For a restaurant positioning itself as an upscale steakhouse, that was a head-scratcher. And don't even get me started on the ceviche. It completely lacked flavor - no salt, no spice, barely any tang, and nowhere near enough lime juice. I had two bites and left it. Absolutely not what I expected at this price point. The "jumbo" crab cake was another joke. There was absolutely nothing jumbo about the crab cake except, apparently, the price. The portions across the board were narrow slivers and tiny bites that left us feeling like we had barely eaten. To make matters worse, the men's restroom had two wet paper napkins sitting there. No cloth towels, no quality napkins - just a pretty underwhelming experience all around. The only reason I'm giving STK even one star is because Kylah's service was attentive and top-notch. She was wonderful and genuinely provided the level of service you would expect from a restaurant like this. The DJ spinning music was also a nice touch and helped create a lively atmosphere. But unfortunately, great service and a DJ can't make up for a disappointing food experience. STK has no business charging these prices for these portions and this quality of food. We should have gone to one of the quality steakhouses down the street and paid a fraction of what we spent. Sadly disappointed with STK. Loved it! Popped in for HH on a Friday with a few children. We only ate off the HH menu. Service was excellent, we had Matthew and he was extremely pleasant and attentive. In addition, the entire staff was on it! Most portions on HH are small, except foe the burger. That thing was HUGE! Kids loved the calamari, the popcorn chicken was seasoned extremely well, stk and fries was small but tasty, the mushroom arancini had great flavor and the oysters were good. Giving it to 2 stars only because the staff was very nice and accommodating but let me tell you, this place is a total scam. For the amount of money you're spending here you, you should be getting solid portions, especially with a restaurant who claims to be a on a certain level with other upscale steak houses. My order of shrimp cocktails came with 3 shrimp on a HUGE platter of ice, it was honestly laughable. Pass on this one and drive to your nearest chili's at this point, atleast there you'll get what you pay for. read more

STK Topanga is conveniently located inside Westfield Topanga and has a cozy, upscale atmosphere. We've visited twice for brunch, hoping our first experience was just an off day, but unfortunately left disappointed both times. The servers were friendly and attentive, but there were a few issues that stood out. On both visits, our coffee cups were either chipped or not completely clean, which was surprising for a restaurant at this price point. As for the food, most of what we tried was overly salty. The burger and steak and eggs were both much saltier than they needed to be. We also tried the AYCE brunch and personally didn't find it worth the price. The prime rib was probably the highlight of our meal and was actually pretty good. I really wanted to love this place, and maybe brunch just isn't their strongest service. I'd be willing to give them another chance for dinner in the future, but based on our brunch experiences, it just didn't live up to expectations. read more

We got to the restaurant and for some reason they couldn't find our reservation(I showed them the name and confirmation number on my email reservation even). We reserved inside seating and unfortunately they sat us outside at the tiniest table right in the sun. All the food and drinks we ordered didn't even fit on the table so it didn't make sense and was frustrating. They broke a glass and dropped our oil for our bread right next to our table with minutes of each other so it was a bit loud and hectic. I really wish we were sat inside where we reserved. Our first thing we got was fresh bread. It was strange because it was cold. Not even warm. So we didn't partake. We ordered the special Filet 8 oz with 1/2 a lobster tail. Unfortunately the lobster tail was flavorless and the butter needed salt. It just tasted like nothing really. The béarnaise sauce needed something acidic like lemon, vinegar or white wine. It fell flat and definitely was missing something. We ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and unfortunately it was SO fishy and the bottom was completely black and burnt. I was shocked when paying $80+ for a piece of fish I would expect it to be cooked perfectly and not fishy. One of the two sides we got was Mac and cheese and it was cold so we didn't even eat that unfortunately. The 8 oz Filet was amazing, cooked perfectly, properly seasoned and so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes with the Parmesan crust were some of the best mashed potatoes! The Parmesan crust took it to another level. We could have easily ordered two orders of these! read more

i've wanted to try their sf location for the longest time but never had a chance. i'm not typically available for weekday meals but had to run errands and saw they offered a happy hour menu. we decided to try it out because i've heard so many great things we ordered: - lil brg + truffle fries ~ $6 - giant meatball ~ $6 - mushroom arancini ~ $6 - tuna tartare taco ~ $9 - stk cheeseburger ~ $9 they accidentally input a5 wagyu tacos instead of the tuna tartare so we actually had a chance to try it. it was actually pretty good, fatty as you would expect. however, it may not be a must order for me personally. the tuna tartare on the other hand, amazing! both taco options come in 2 pieces which is fairly reasonable as the quality was quite nice. the tuna one tasted very fresh and it comes in a shell made of some root chip i think which was light, crisp, and not overpowering. i honestly would come and order a few orders of that. the cheeseburger wasn't anything outstanding, but it was simple and reliable. for the price, probably the best value item on the hh menu. the chips on the side were amazing, i loved the texture and thickness of them. i preferred the lil brg which i think was made with a higher quality meat? (could be mistaken) but the meat was also juicier, too. the truffle fries that come with it were very fragrant and not skimpy on the truffle taste at all. the mushroom arancini is tasty but VERY creamy which somewhat feels a little too heavy to enjoy. i would order it again though so perhaps the flavor is still worth it. the giant meatballs are a classic, nothing special yet still yummy. they indeed are giant. there is no strictness to dress code which i was worried about but it was very casual environment when we visited. as great as the food experience was, the service was lacking. i understand being busy and having to manage many tables but the manager checked in on us more than our own server. it took lots of time to get attention and when we were ready to pay, he came to the table and made note that we were finished but didn't bring the bill until the second time after being informed we were done and wanted to pay :( read more

Terrific service. Pretty good HH. Prices are on the high end for the size of the portions but it was nice to try different items in smaller portions. My hubby joined their rewards program so we had $50 which worked on HH food no alcohol is included when using the $50 reward. Food was good although I couldn't taste the A5 Japanese wagyu in the mini taco so I won't be getting that again. Also on the slider my bun was very hard and crispy on the bottom (I don't know if this is normal for their sliders) not a fan. The short rib quesadilla was hot, juicy and full of flavor. I also like the pastrami salmon cones. Some of the truffle fries did not have the truffle flavor (needs consistency). The STK frites were fine but I think the filet was overdone and dry. Not enough beef flavor but plenty of sauce flavor. Crispy calamari was ok but I don't think id order again although the aïoli sauce was good. Drinks we ordered were mojito and Dragon Flare. The mojito was not too sweet which is exactly the way I enjoy that cocktail. My hubby liked his cocktail as well. His Dragon drink had strawberry and lemonade flavors and were very refreshing which he also thought a little sweet and tart. Love the casual and upscale feel of this place. read more

Interesting time trying out STK for happy hour. At first we were seated on the "patio," which is still indoors but out in the mall area. While the music was good, it was hard to hear it over some of the shrieking children; thankfully, two spots opened up at the bar so we could also watch the game. Service inside was very slow. There were two bartenders serving everyone, but they didn't really move with any urgency and were only sort of friendly. A group sitting near us left because no one addressed them and they couldn't even order drinks. We were addressed and served before a couple next to us, also. Good for us, but not a good look. Near the end of our time there, shift change and Cotte came in as bartender. He was friendly, fast, and helpful! As for the happy hour value, a lot of the items are definitely worth it. Cocktails are $9 (instead of the usual $23!!!), and food items vary from $3, like the Corn and Crab Fritters, which were ok, to $6, like the Short Rib Quesadilla, which was pretty good, to $9, like the STK Cheeseburger with chips, which was tasty. We upgraded to fries instead of chips for $3. I'm hopeful that the subpar service was just an off day and not the norm. We would stop in again for happy hour. read more

Our server was attentive, polished, and timed everything really well. Drinks and food came out smoothly, and they checked in often enough to feel taken care of without being intrusive. Honestly, the excellent service is a big part of why I'd come back. Food was solid and enjoyable, but not mind-blowing -- more "overall alright" than unforgettable. That said, it's consistent with what you'd expect from a place like this: you're paying for the full experience (ambience + service + presentation) as much as the meal itself. The only real downside is the price. It's definitely pricey, and you'll feel it on the bill, especially if you're doing cocktails and sharing sides. If you go in expecting that and you're there for the vibes, you'll have a great time. Bottom line: great vibes, excellent service, good food, but you're paying a premium for the atmosphere. The short rib quesadilla was my favorite. The burger was tasty as well. The service at the bar was pretty slow. Another family at a table left because they were waiting too long for their drinks. Felt a bit like the service you would get at an airport restaurant which is not compliment. Cotte (bartender) came in at the end of our time there and really flipped the energy and the vibe. The general consensus was that all the main dishes ordered were overcooked. I made a mention of this to our waitress however with regard to one of the dishes however nothing was done about it.
