Rosti has been one of our go to spots for years! My husband and I used to visit a couple of times each month, and these days I often meet friends there for happy hour or weekend brunch. One thing I really appreciate is the consistency. The food is always fresh and exactly what you expect. My husband has allergies to dairy and Mike always makes sure to check in with the kitchen hen to ensure they have made the necessary modifications. Last Wednesday, my friends and I sat at the bar, where Mike made our drinks (which were fantastic!) and took great care of us throughout the evening. We ordered several of the happy hour items that hit the spot. What really keeps us coming back is the staff. It's rare these days to find a restaurant where employees remember their regular customers, but Mike, Alicia, and Sam always make us feel welcome. They don't just recognize us, they genuinely engage in conversation and ask what we've been up to since our last visit. That personal touch makes a huge difference. Costco is currently selling Rosti gift cards, and I picked some up before reading the fine print! Unfortunately, they can't be used toward happy hour items, which was a bit of a disappointment. If that policy ever changes, we'd definitely find ourselves stopping by for happy hour much more often. We always enjoy our time at Rosti and look forward to our next visit! read more

Came here for a family lunch, left a bit disappointed. Tucked in the same shopping center as TJs and Coffee Bean in Calabasas this lively restaurant has a bit of Italian fare as soon as you walk in. We did a pickup order and the service was okay. Most of the employees didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Emily was easily the highlight here and kept us updated with our order. The food here was hit or miss. The panini and sandwich had really dry bread but the stuff inside was okay, though it did feel like they bought the ingredients a few days ago. The tiramisu was alright, the filet mignon sliders were nice and juicy, and the potatoes were well seasoned. Overall, there are definitely better Italian restaurants in the area at a far better value. I wouldn't come here again but was glad to try it. read more

Reserved a table at Rosti for Mother's Day Dinner because our son is vegan and they have a large menu of options for him. Our table was waiting when we arrived, and the pleasant hostess seated us immediately. The restaurant was busy, but not overwhelmingly so, therefore the staff had enough breathing room to tend to us (to everyone) nicely. The bright, casual dining room was lively, had upbeat music playing, and was being kept neat & clean by a fast moving crew. Our server did a great job of confirming details about the vegan items and various other menu selections. Our food was prepared quickly, and served piping hot. My wife had the Grilled Salmon Piccata, which was a generous cut of fish prepared to a pleasing medium temp, with a nicely buttery lemon sauce and plump roasted potatoes on the side. Very tasty. My daughter went for the Grilled Chicken Sandwich on their house-made ciabatta bread -- a fresh and substantially stacked sandwich with good-tasting chicken and crispy, shoestring fries. My son opted for a bowl of Pasta Fagioli Soup, which was hearty and rich despite being vegan. That, paired with plenty of the house ciabatta, and he was full without ordering anything else. The one disappointment was my own meal: the Smoked Sausage Pie. This was a pizza supposedly made with smoked mozzarella, but the cheese had no elevated, smoky flavor at all. The sausage was fresh and had a hint of fennel, but was not particularly "sweet" as advertised (which is usually a different flavor than simply "mild"), and the pizza was not prepared well-done as requested. The caramelized onions, however, were very tasty and I appreciate the time and effort that went into preparing those. Given the holiday and the busyness of the restaurant, I didn't feel I needed to complain about the pizza or ask that it be redone. There will be other pizzas on other days, and I'm okay with that. Decided to try this on a random weekday night and it wasn't very crowded. Our server Sam was extremely friendly and helpful the entire time. I got the grilled branzino, which initially I thought was a small portion, but turned out to be plenty of food. A very pleasant experience overall. read more

Really nice Italian restaurant with good quality food! It's in a shopping plaza so no need to worry about parking. Make a reservation but I'm sure they can get you in if they're not busy. We chose to sit in the outside because of the nice weather and were shown to our table right away. I liked the fact that they had happy hour on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered some items off the happy hour menu on top of our main dishes. The pepperoni flatbread was a 4/5. The crust was a little too much to be called a flatbread but the flavors were on point. Garlic truffle fries 3/5, lacking truffle flavor. Mozzarella sticks 4/5. Lightly breaded and not heavy at all. Chicken piccata 5/5: light, the chicken was pounded out thin with a flavorful lemon butter sauce. Garlic masked potatoes were creamy. Vegetables were cut a little too thick. I normally like Rosti because I have celiac disease and they take special precautions. However this visit was terrible. There were four of us who had reservations. We were seated for at least half an hour before we could get anyone's attention. We finally put in our orders. It took at least another 45 minutes before we got our orders. The other couple ordered their brick chicken which was very dry, but they didn't wish to return it and have to wait even longer. I needed to use the men's room which was a mess, and they no longer had paper towels or anything to dry my hands. Our waiter became very defensive when we brought things to his attention. The manager came out and blamed us for not returning the dry chicken. I don't think we will be coming back. read more

Rosti's is just great. They have real Tuscan food and it is exceptional. There is nothing not to love about this place. They also have a storefront in Santa Monica. It has a warm and super inviting atmosphere to make you comfortable. The place is just beautiful and it is ever so clean. You are never rushed. Now, it can get crowded so make a reservation. we were there on a weeknight, early and were just fine without a reservation, but I watched as it got more busy. The service is just great. The staff is attentive and kind. They know the menu well and will gladly help you out. Their attention to detail is evident in every dish. They use traditional cooking techniques and real Tuscan ingredients to make sure ever dish is perfect. They have great pasta, salads and desserts. We love their steak and their lasagna is the best. Their chicken dishes are great and love their bruschetta. They have take away and delivery, but if you can dine there. It is so wonderful. read more

My spouse had spaghetti with a beef ragu, it was fine...would have been nice to have some bread but they charge $4.00 for a basket of bread. First time trying thanks to my cousin @Leonardoughs (be sure to check out his Instagram for delicious daily desserts) for the rec!! Came by after work last Friday 6/13 around 6pm. Maybe it was because of Friday The 13th but service was heavily lacking. I didn't catch the name of our waiter but he was MIA basically the entire time and forgot our second bread request so we had to ask again after waiting a while.. The food here is excellent and such a big menu! So much to try and I already want to go back FOR the food. The patio and weather was perfect that evening so I'm glad we opted for the outdoor seating. It wasn't very busy at all but he'd bring us our drinks and completely disappear for at least 20 minutes before we could finally order our main entrees. We tried to catch a movie after but timing just wasn't in our favor. Food came out quickly though, thankfully. Gave us enough time to enjoy our bread and I love the fact that they have the olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette on the table so you can put/refill as much as you want for the bread! SUUUUPER SOFT DELICIOUS BREAD BTW! Which is why we asked for more lol. We enjoyed our evening filled with catching up and laughter from the sweet neighborly old man who was telling us dad jokes all night. Rosti Calabasas has two things going for it, the server we just adore Juan, and Mike behind the bar. Now, I would not call ourselves high maintenance, however we enjoy what we enjoy, and exceptionally great service will keep us coming back! There have been times when we show up, and Juan isn't there, honestly, we've gone elsewhere just because of his absence. With Juan, he knows how we expect the food to show up... remembers our usual drinks, and IF there is an issue, he takes care of it! Juan's attention to details, about us, our culinary wants and needs... it's nice to have that... this is reason 1 why we keep coming back. Reason 2... Mike behind the bar mid one heck of a mixologist! I can't tell you how many people get a Limoncello lemon drop with Bombay Sapphire Gin wrong! Is this drink on the menu, not quite, but with a kind word, a standard drink becomes a custom one... and Mike makes the very best drinks... Specially this one. It's funny really, we can tell when somebody else makes it... Mike's attention to the drink details, from the lightly sugar coated rim, to the dried blood orange slice... and a filled yo the brim chilled Martini glass! Perfection! Never disappointed when we come here! Portion sizes are great (always feeds me twice), flavor is fantastic, and menu is large. It's usually pretty busy, so reservations or having an early meal is key. The place is super cute and it's helpful to be in a shopping center so parking isn't usually too terrible. read more

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant, and both times did not have good experiences. Based on reviews, I thought perhaps I just hit a bad day the first time, so I wanted to give them a second chance. I will only talk about this visit. I ordered the all American breakfast with bacon on the side (for my husband) and fruit: $18 very MEH A cup of soup we were charged $12 (the price posted on their menu and on their website is $10 btw) tasted good The eggs did not taste 'right'. They tasted either off or possibly powdered/not fresh. The fruit had grapes (that were all soft-NOT fresh) and cut strawberries. I told the waitress the eggs did not taste right-and asked if they were real or powdered. She immediately got defensive and said with a laugh and eye roll: "They are absolutely very real and fresh! I watched the cook break each of them and looked at the date" Which was a super weird response...does she always watch the cook break the eggs and look at the date on their packages for all of her orders...? Regardless, I told her they did not taste right-and then-I did not eat them-. I did eat two grapes and part of one of the strawberries-but since they were not fresh, I did not eat them. My plate was almost untouched. Waitress came back about 15 minutes later, picked up my husbands plate, looked at my still untouched plate and asked me if I wanted to take it home. I told her "No-they do not taste right, I will not eat them" Those who know me, know I have many dogs. I take home all leftovers for them. And I would not take these home-because they tasted off-I do not give my dogs food that tastes off. She took my plate-did not ask me if I wanted something else to replace it (I was very hungry-I absolutely would have ordered something else-if she asked). About 10 minutes later, she came back with our bill and told me they took off HALF the charge....for food I did not eat because it tasted off... I was so put off by the whole experience that we paid (we had two gift cards and she would only allow us to use one of them). When I got home, I saw that while she took off $9 of $18-she charged me $12 for the cup of soup ($2 higher than the menu / website price). Perhaps she was having a bad week or day-but the waitress's attitude through all of this was not good so not worth feeling spoken down to again by her to address it the over charge. Since my formal complaint has now been repeatedly ignored for over a month, despite three separate attempts to obtain a response, I feel it is necessary to inform the public directly. It is disappointing that the ownership of Rosti Tuscan Kitchen appears to have little concern for a customer with over 30 years of patronage, or for the conduct of their staff. Additionally, I did not include in my original complaint that our server, Alicia, was largely inattentive to her assigned tables because she was focused on assisting her boyfriend with a $1,000 catering order. This directly impacted the level of service we received and contributed to the overall negative experience. It was a very busy evening, and I was more than patient with the level of service, despite the server, Alicia, taking over 30 minutes to return to my table on multiple occasions. Over the course of approximately three hours, I ordered three drinks and one appetizer--roughly one drink per hour--while completing two graduate-level assignments. At approximately 8:30 p.m., I requested one additional drink and asked for the check. At that point, Alicia asked whether I was driving. I answered honestly that I was. She then stated that she did not know if she could serve me another drink and would need to "ask." After waiting an additional 15 minutes, instead of speaking with me directly, Alicia sent the host to my table to inform me that she would not be serving me another drink because she "works in healthcare." I was taken aback by this explanation, as her profession outside of the restaurant has no relevance to my dining experience, nor was I informed of any policy or regulation that I had violated. I have never encountered such a restriction at your establishment before. More concerning was the manner in which this was handled--indirectly, publicly, and in a way that implied intoxication or impropriety where none existed. Alicia did not have the courtesy to address me herself, explain a legitimate policy, or involve a manager. Instead, I was placed in an awkward and humiliating position in front of other guests. I promptly asked for the check, handed payment to the host, and concluded my visit. I fully understand and respect responsible alcohol service and applicable regulations. However, discretionary enforcement based on personal beliefs--especially when communicated through a third party and without managerial involvement--is inappropriate and unprofessional. I am bringing this to your attention not out of hostility, but because this experience was deeply disappointing at an establishment I have supported for decades. I would appreciate acknowledgment of this complaint and clarification regarding your policies so that no other long-standing customer is subjected to similar treatment. We arrived around 3:30 PM and the place was nearly empty--just one couple inside and another small party outside. We walked in, greeted the staff, and asked if we could sit on the patio. After sitting down, we waited... and waited... and no one ever came to acknowledge us. Shortly after, another group of three walked in and was immediately seated. Not only that, but they were greeted, had their drink orders taken, and even placed appetizer orders while we were still sitting there completely ignored. At that point, I got up and asked to speak to a manager. Unfortunately, there wasn't one available, so the person assisting us was also acting as the fill-in manager. He apologized and said he didn't see us, but that really didn't make sense given where we were seated--clearly visible, and right in front of the newly seated guests. It also became obvious there was a breakdown in communication between the staff, as the person at the front never informed anyone that we had been seated outside. This was our first time trying this place, and it was a disappointing experience. The issue was the lack of basic customer service and poor communication between staff. Hadn't been to a Rosti in many years as I remembered their brick chicken had too much rosemary so that put me off. Glad I gave them another try as the Calabasas location is lovely. Large, covered patio that is dog friendly too. Heat lamps were on since it was a chilly night. Heard the hostess tell someone it was quieter than sitting inside. As for the food they have a HUGE menu with lots of pizza, pasta, and Italian staples -- but I went with their 8oz Filet Mignon which at $33.00 was quite reasonable. Comes with two sides as well. Ordered it "Medium" and it came Medium-Rare -- but it was so good I didn't bother sending it back. Tender, and nice salt and pepper rub (even though it says "Tuscan Herbs"). The food itself was okay, nothing that entirely stands out but not bad either. Unfortunately the biggest thing that I felt ruined the night was the service. Our server, Alicia B, came across as rude and what really stood out was how she was interacting with my mom. Honestly, at first I thought I was reading too much into it and I tried to shake off the feeling but the others in the group noticed it too. Her tone and attitude made us feel uncomfortable which affected the experience for all of us. I'm not one to write reviews, especially negative ones, but this didn't sit right with me. It is really unfortunate what could have been a nice dinner with my family got impacted so heavily from bad service. It was our 19th wedding anniversary and had even put that on my reservation. No one said a word. Our waitress maybe checked on us once the whole meal. So so disappointing. We just happened to be staying in the area and randomly picked this restaurant for dinner. We immediately were attracted to the ambience as we approached. Tall Leland cypress trees out front with tall flame burners. The service was excellent. Very attentive and quick. We all ordered something different, and all of the food was excellent. And you had your choice of multiple side dishes. A great selection. The friends we were visiting, locals, had never been here before, but we're very pleasantly surprised, and plan to return soon. He said it was wonderful! Our server Alicia was wonderful. Always at tentative with a beautiful smile. We sat outside so it was comfortable because it was a warm night. We were there with 6 other couples and everyone was happy until the bill came. Our friend that made the reservation was told they would split the check into 4 separate checks . They didn't do that. They said some people had gotten there before Happy Hour and got discounts therefore they wouldn't honor our gift cards Many of us are very disappointed and we will not be returning as a group. They come with all kinds of hidden restrictions and you will very likely be unable to use them for the full amount, thus negating the very reason they were purchased in the first place. There for Mother's Day dinner. We were seated by the viewing window to the kitchen. We noticed the lady handling the computer screen, take out orders and marking items with a pen used her bare hands to sprinkle on parsley on various dishes and add lemon slices without tongs or washing her hands. She even touched her face. I wonder how long they have been doing this unsanitary procedure. We noticed they screwed up our order as we were to get our salads first and saw them put my pizza under their heat lamp. About five minutes after we got our salads, they bought out our entrees before we were not even finished. The pizza was not hot and was soggy after being under their heat lamp. read more

I had my grandmother's 90th birthday party at Rosti Calabasas location. From the first call, I was impressed with their customer service after speaking with the hostess who was kind and helpful in connecting me to the right person. I spoke with Sepi (Owner) to plan my menu and decorations for the party. I was provided a formal quote and number of catering items to choose from. We had a party of 40-50 people on the outside patio. The food was incredible and the serving plates were lovely. We started off with appetizers including the caprese skewers and bruschetta pomodoro. We had the sandwich platters with fettucine and salads (beet/gorgonzola and antipasti salad). The sandwiches were each labeled offering a beautiful touch to already delicious food. The fettucine was perfectly done and creamy. The vegetable plater and mushrooms were fresh and well-seasoned. All servers were attentive, helpful and the hostess had incredible memory. I was pleased when paying for the service I was provided. The decoration was provided by Rosti Tuscan Kitchen and they knocked it out of the park. We had beautiful roses that were sent with guest in little purse holders, streamers along the center of the table and napkins that complimented flyers I had printed. It saved me time and offered me peace of mind to pass this along to capable hands. In summary, this is a fantastic place to host a party where guest will enjoy the food, the setting and you'll have a fun time planning with the restaurant. read more

I love Italian food and definitely anything truffle, so I'm surprised I haven't left a review for Rosti just yet! I came here for my friend's birthday a couple weeks ago, it was her choice to come, but I'm so glad she did. This was our first time, and our food was amazing. I had the truffle ravioli, so good!! Lunch with my daughter on the patio. Kevin was very attentive, without hovering. My daughter had the penne with pink sauce and I had the capellini with goat cheese and marinara sauce. 12 friends met here for a nice afternoon lunch and while some have been here before, we and another couple didn't. We were fortunate to find a parking spot near the restaurant as with many stores and restaurants in the outdoor mall it was pretty crowded. We were able to eat outside, which was nice because it was a nice lunchtime weather. Glad we made reservations as it was packed. Lily E was our server and she was nice and friendly. The one challenge is that with 12 people some dishes were brought out a good 5-10 minutes before others, but not a problem as we were all schmoozing. We ordered a salmon omlette and and California Lite Omlette and enjoyed our lunch. One of the nice things that surprised me but not those who had been there before and recommended it is that there's a 20% discount for a "large party 6 or more." My wife and I will definitely go back should we be in Calabasas. read more
