It was Father's Day brunch so there was a DJ which was cool. It was a little cold but otherwise looked nice. Had high chairs but the size of the wide base of the table made the chairs and high chair a little weird. It looked like they had a cute IG-worthy private dining room. 3.5/5 Service: Our server was Bentley. Super nice and gave good advice on the steak choice. Checked in on us the right amount of times. Also the manager brought us plastic silverware for the baby and everyone was mindful of not putting hot dishes or knives too close to her. 5/5 Food: a little disappointing. I had high expectations and this was a highly anticipated visit. I was let down big time. Let me first say, the restaurant is beautiful. The ambiance, and the music were the highlights. The menu had a nice variety to choose from. However, in my opinion, it's way overpriced for the quality of the food. We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's 35th birthday. For the birthday boy, The server brought out this dessert with pink cotton candy over it. There was some liquid in a cup and he torched it in flames and poured it over the cotton candy to melt it. Revealed underneath, was a beautiful butter cake with ice-cream and fruit. Of course my boyfriend took the first bite and he said something didn't taste right and it tasted like alcohol. I then took a taste, and it was definitely alcohol! - to our surprise, the liquid was grand mariner. When we first arrived, we specifically told the server twice that my boyfriend doesn't drink alcohol. AT ALL. He has maintained his sobriety for 2 1/2 years. And we are very proud of it. The server failed to mention that the dessert had alcohol and obviously that was something we would think we didn't have to ask. We have visited many of restaurants and have never had a problem like this before. The icing on the cake, not one time did a manager come to the table and talk to us or apologize. No hospitality at all. Highly disappointed and livid about the situation. I had to talk to my boyfriend at the end of the night to make him feel better and let him know that wasn't his fault and to not be so hard on his self. We had the shrimp scampi which is $53, swims in oil, has plenty of pasta, the sour pucker of lemon and 5 shrimp. They give complimentary bread after you've placed your order. Ours came out cold and tasted of plastic. The GM's were also walking around with boxes of salt, sprinkling it on the floors I assume to prevent anyone from slipping. Went to STK's DC location recently. Got home and upon reheating a leftover slider (lil brgz), noticed a black thin piece of hair sticking out. Upon attempting to remove it, this 2+ inch piece of hair comes from between the tomato & pickle on the burger. A piece of hair this long had to have been visible during the preparation process. I was so appalled that I threw the whole thing away. This aside, the in-restaurant was average. Went during happy hour so was able to order some cocktails for $9 instead of the $22 price. We tried the strawberry cobbler, mojito, espresso martini, and dragonfruit lemondrop. Aside from the mojito, the drinks weren't very flavorful. Certainly not worth the $22 price point. The calamari & short rib quesadillas were tasty! Their Mac & cheese was very good & fed two people with more to go home. Steaks themselves were also standard and the accompanying butters didn't add much flavor. Overall would come back for happy hour but probably not dinner. However, the manager was so embarrassed by the childish and arrogant behavior of the bartender that she bought our tab. They then proceeded to put us in a section with a server who actually saved the whole experience. I would literally ONLY go back to buy a drink from Shirley, she was AMAZING! But when I tell you... a $900 tab where everything but the creamed spinach was cooked at the wrong temp, cold, and stale like it had been under the salamander for thirty minutes (which would explain the wait on the food -- mind you we never even got bread, we just sat there) was easily one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. I sat at the bar at STK DC on Christmas and was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding service from our bartender, Diego. He was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made the experience genuinely enjoyable. I've been to STK multiple times in the past and have left disappointed, but Diego completely changed that for us. This is supposed to be an upscale steakhouse but based on my experience, I don't think it's worth the expense. With multiple courses and drinks, count on your meal costing you $200+ per person. The atmosphere is loud with club music and neon lights; this is not a high-class atmosphere. The food was just OK for the cost. The $20 side orders were barely enough for 2-3 people to share. And we had to ask the server for serving spoons. While the server was perfectly pleasant and knowledgeable, I expected more perfect service at this price point. I dine at a lot of high end restaurants, but I won't be back to STK. For this price point in Washington, DC, I think you'd have better food, better service and an over all better experience at Ocean Prime or Joe's Seafood & Prime Steak. read more

I figured, they've been in business for a while now, they must be decent. Also, how bad can you mess up steak? The vibe is like if the Express clothing store was a restaurant. They want it to be cool, trendy, but it's trying way too hard. The music is loud, so if you want to feel like you're in a club while eating dinner, maybe you'll like the vibe. It doesn't matter how cool they try to make it - the food was awful. This was the saddest steak I've ever ordered a restaurant. Thin, grisly. Definitely nowhere near a $100 steak. My friend's steak was the same. We were so disappointed - and felt scammed for the price vs the value of our dinner. I suspect they're only in business because they're located IN a hotel right next to the Convention Center. They get travelers who don't know any better. Now that I think about it.. It used to be that you get what you pay for, but that is unfortunately not the case here. Outback or longhorn would be a better choice than this STK location which is sad given that I have been to numerous other locations and have had great experiences. We chose to go here as a result of some of our favorite places closing down and we regret it. First, they provide you with a long wine list only to have limited numbers in stock. This back and forth led to the wine not being decanted and being opened after our food was delivered which brings me to the second point. We placed a standard order of apps, steaks and sides and told the staff that we would like them delivered in a normal fashion. What happened was that all of the food came at once and two of the three steaks were well overcooked. This is not a nuanced perspective...One medium rare steak was well done. The chef came out and took them back, but at that point it was another 15-20 minutes before the steaks came back out which means the sides are getting cold and part of our table had already finished. The GM did try to help, but there is little you can do to salvage the atmosphere and experience when you completely mess up a standard coursing and cooking of a meal. There are many more items that need improvement such as flavoring and plating, but I will leave it at that. If this had been at a local diner, then we may have been pleased, but when you are dropping close to a thousand dollars for dinner, then certain standards should be met. Ok.. there were 4 of us, we ordered appetizers, main and asked for bread. .. about 10 min into the meal they said there is no bread. We don't serve until 5.... My response was , well you informed us there was no brunch today only a regular menu.. then why no bread? He said you can wait 45 minutes and then have bread.. completely am unreasonable response. The salad ordered was a baby gem.. only lettuce in a bowl. Steak ordered medium came out well done. They took it back left the sides and didn't bring the steak back until much later. My bill was $418. Far from cheap. The suggested 20% tip was $96 ... 20% of $418 is certainly not $96. ALL of this was Very disappointing for a STK in a high end hotel such as the Marriott marquis. There are many amazing restaurants in the area with great service that provides an enjoyable dining experience. This was not good and not worth the money and aggravation. We recently went to the midtown location and were offered STK gift cards during Christmas. On our trip to Washington DC we decided to stay at the Marriott and have dinner at this STK location since we love this restaurant and atmosphere. Deangelo was our waiter and he was nothing short of amazing. His knowledge along with personality made the evening. When we went to pay the gift cards didn't work. The manager Mr. Foreman was kind to help us with the gift cards. I highly recommend this business and hopefully will be back soon read more

I had a really great experience at STK! I had not been to this location or brand before, but had heard that it was a wonderful place to have a date night. My waitor was Briand. He was very pleasant and cheerful and made the experience extra nice for me. He even saw my birthday from my ID and made sure to wish me a happy birthday! I am super disappointed in my experience with STK DC, it was my husband's birthday dinner for a party of 12 on Friday December 5 at 6pm. The tables were super small, and we had to sit tightly together with barely any space for elbow room. For the price of the food, I expected more from this restaurant, our guest had to get up to go to the bar and place cocktail orders because the waitress took forever to come back to take orders. My husband was super upset because nothing could be done about the seating; they had a room open that they could have put us in but wouldn't do it. It was all a mess. Poor quality steaks carelessly prepared. The first steak I ordered was a bone-in rib eye. Listed at 16oz. I ordered it rare. When it arrived it was maybe 10oz at the most. Butchered 1/2 inch thick so it was medium well. Needless to say I sent it back as it was listed at $106 on the menu. The second was a 14 oz Delmonico as I was sure the thin but butchering on the bone-in cut would preclude a rare temp. The Delmonico was not quite as done but still not rare. It was also quite tough. At $120 it was definitely NOT worth it. This restaurant needs to source much higher quality beef and teach their kitchen staff how to cook it properly in order to command these prices. Ordered the steak frites and the "bag of donuts" via uber eats. The best thing about my meal was the amount of staples they used to keep Marco from eating some of my French fries. One look at the steak and I felt just knew the tariffs had reached the cows. It had the flavoring of a conflicted glass of hose water. The fries had flavor but didn't travel well (won't knock them for that but others have figured this out). Lastly, the "bag" of donuts. We should call it a handful of disappointments. My husband and I didn't care for this place at all and there is no way one could have a business dinner here. It was insanely noisy and took too long to be seated. I hated the way my steak was prepared and I specifically said I wanted it prepared without any butter because I'm dietary sensitive (and it clearly tasted like butter). My soggy ceaser salad had shredded lettuce that was practically wilted and drowned in dressing with croutons that could break one's teeth. I don't understand why our appetizers had to come out with our entrees? Ruby Tuesdays and Chilis can somehow manage to produce appetizers first providing enough time for us to enjoy them so we aren't cutting into a cold steak- but apparently that bar is too high for SDK. read more

Worst steak my husband has ever had. $80 down the drain for that. Super dry and no flavor. I tried a piece and it was horrible. We've had way better at outback steakhouse!!!! I told him i'm going to get the manager because this is a disgrace, but he told me just leave it alone and we won't come back. I ordered the braised short ribs for $60. Child, they tried but they didnt get it right. It was tender but they didn't hit the nail on the head with flavor. Ive had way better for half the price at other restaurants. We actually went to Cuba Libra the night before for Valentines and the steaks were really good and tender. We would go back there for steaks. Another bad thing about STK is the bathroom is all the way down the hall in the hotel. They dont even have a bathroom. This is a cute place just to get dolled up and take some pictures and just order some side dishes. Please don't get main dishes here. The prices are too outrageous to have subpar and bad food like the experience we had here. My homegirl told me today that she wish she would've warned me because she had the same bad experience with her food. She said she only liked the atmosphere. Oh and service was not the best.
