My family and I have been taking our pets to Stockbridge Veterinary Hospital for decades. Dr. Waggoner (the younger) helped my one-eyed Shih Tzu that someone dropped in my fenced-in backyard, and Dr. Maney gave me and my Lab mix our best years together when she performed surgery no other vet thought was possible. Every single one of my visits here (dozens, maybe hundreds at this point), I always felt like they were doing the best for my pet and I never felt like they were inflating the bill. I see some reviews complaining about wait times and policy changes, etc. Customer service glitches are going to happen when you have a practice as busy as this one. People get mad about wait times but then also get mad about having to make an appointment. If your priority is pet care from kind, smart people who love animals at a reasonable price, Stockbridge Veterinary Hospital is the best place on the Southside. read more

Took my dog here for a tumor that we found on his ear. Was very impressed by how quick and efficient they were. You don't wait long to get checked in and seen. The nurse was very friendly and helpful. Knowing how stressful the whole situation was she put us at ease. Dr Maney is the best. My dog was very agitated as he hates going to the vet but as soon as he met her he calmed down visibly and was relaxed after that. I liked the fact that Dr Maney didnt push her opinions but presented us with options so we could decide what we wanted to do.We ended up getting surgery done and it is healing beautifully. It was a spot on his ear and she had to take out a big chunk but you can't tell that there's a piece missing. Prices were reasonable. read more

We had found a stray cat in our yard. We wanted to make sure it didn't have any issues and if it was microchipped (Make sure you microchip your animals) We then checked the local websites and searched for anybody loosing a young cat. The veterinary clinic was able to fit us in quickly, do the chip check and inoculate the cat. We then made arrangements for spaying the same day. Everything was very quick and easy. Our cat now has a home, recovered very well and will be using this practice from now on. They are very busy with pets coming all the time. So they book up, and I must stress that they take the time to care for each pet that is brought in for any reason. I would recommend this Veterinary Hospital. read more

I took my Meela to this vet since 2011. She passed away last week at a vet emergency facility due to many ailments that were not diagnosed at Stockbridge animal hospital. According to the vet at the emergency facility many ailments had been going on for sometime. I expressed my companions concerns several times to two different vets at stockbridge animal hospital and every time it was chalked up to her getting old or cells die (arthritis, scabs on stomach and groin area, growth on leg, collapsed trachea). I had a growth removed last year and it was considered cancerous. It came back a few months later. She was given a steroid, that presented no changes. According to the emergency vet diagnostic examination, my baby had several ailments. She struggled to breathe because she had a mass on her trachea and chest and liver cancer that spread from the cancer on her leg. These ailments led to her kidneys shutting down. She suffered her last two days. I know that she was almost 13 years old, but these illnesses should have been diagnosed in April during her annual exam. At least some sort of pain maintenance could have been put in place. I thank God that Meela was up and about until her last two days of life. I am partly to blame because I did not know to ask for a diagnostic examination during annual exams. However, I assumed that taking blood from my pet would have been to screen for more than just worms. I will seek another vet for my other pet who is 11 years old and deserves the best care possible. read more

What in the world is going on with everyone? I've used this vet. clinic since 1987. Things have changed, not only because of COVID. Mostly gotten worse. Really? Are we still blaming COVID? I've LOVED this clinic for decades. The only blame rest with ourselves. You may chose the veterinary clinic of your choice. I don't mind paying for my animal's treatment. Cost of EVERYTHING has skyrocketed. I love my pit bulldog, and would do what is necessary to extend her life. But, there are mortgages to pay. Pet insurance is so costly, I can't afford that. Compassion, human contact (without a computer or cell phone) has completely FAILED. Social skills are completely gone. I try to reason, if we can not communicate. How can I expect anything positive forthcoming. I pray (to whoever a person personal religious beliefs), that we can continue to at least be nice to others and our pets. read more

We have been going to Stockbridge Animal Hospital since 2007. This animal hospital was excellent when Dr Ledford was managing it. We will no longer be taking our animals there after what happened tonight. Our Cocker Spaniel has had a mild cough and congestion that worsened this late afternoon. My husband called and said he was in the way with our dog that was having difficulty breathing and had just vomited blood. He told them he would be there at 5:30 pm. He arrived there at 5:30 when they close at 6 and was turned away and told that our dog would not be seen. How can anyone be so heartless! Never again will any of our dogs or cats go back to Stockbridge Vet. We have spent thousands of dollars there and for them to turn away a critical dog is evil in our opinion especially when you are an established long term customer. read more

I told my mother to find another vet after we left our paralyzed dog here who needs help using the bathroom and we came back to UTIs, blisters on her skin, blood in her urine, and she could barely stand up after finally making progress. My mother decided to give them a second chance months later (AFTER I TOLD HER NOT TO) and NOW SHES EVEN WORSE BECAUSE THEY DID IT AGAIN. How are you a dog hospital but you cannot take care of paralyzed dogs!? What are you doing to the normal dogs?! They should be absolutely ashamed. I made my final trip to Stockbridge Animal Hospital on June 22, 2018. I don't think that the outcome would have been any different if I'd gone to another vet, but there is no doubt in my mind that the service and care for my beloved Dasher would have been much better. Dr. Maney took an X-Ray of my 12 year old dachshund and told me that he had an enlarged heart, an enlarged liver, and a belly full of food. She gave me meds for the heart and liver, but ignored the belly. She listen intently for his heart beat, but said that she couldn't hear it. (Really, Doctor?) She also assured me that he was not sick to death. She told me she would get a second opinion on the heart and would call me later that day. That did not happen. When I called the office the NEXT DAY to inform her that Dash was now vomiting she prescribed anti-nausea meds. The office was scheduled to close at noon on Saturday and I could not get there until 12:30. When I asked if someone could wait for that 30 minutes I was reminded by the young man that I was speaking to that they would be closing at noon. After he "spoke to the doctor" he told me that someone might be there at 12:30, but then again... maybe not. I managed to find someone who could get there and pick the meds up before noon. I received a call from the office number around 1:30. The same office that would be vacant at noon. It was Doctor Maney saying she had received that second opinion and Dasher's heart was fine and I should stop giving him the heart meds (REALLY!!!). Two days later, by Little Dasher breathed his last. I'm not saying that the outcome would have been any different, but it certainly would have been expected. The level of care at this facility has greatly diminished from what it was 5 years ago. Neither my current remaining pet, nor any future pets will ever be seen at Stockbridge Animal Hospital ever again. read more

On Saturday 1/31/2015 our baby girl Jewelz a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix was hit by a car. So naturally we rushed her to the vet to get checked out to make sure she was fine. When we arrived to the vet they took an x-ray to see if she had any broken bones. Thankfully she had no fractures but she did have some bruising to her underbelly. When we noticed the bruising we asked the vet if she had any internal injuries. When we asked the vet about internal bleeding he looked as though we were offending him by questioning his diagnostics. In any case he assured us that everything was ok and that she will only be uncomfortable for a while. They gave her a shot for the pain and some medication to go home with. They also kept her for an hour for observation then they released her to us. When we got home we tried to make Jewelz as comfortable as possible. We put her in the play pen with some cushions and blankets. We gave her water through a baby bottle and tried to feed her, her favorite treats. After a few hours of lying in the play pen she had a bowel movement that had traces of blood in it. A sign of internal injury. By the end of the night our baby girl Jewelz died. Jewelz has been a part of our family since 2009. Not once have we heard her cry in pain. She was a loved very well kept dog. The pain that our baby was in for the last hours of her life were unbearable. If the vet took the time to thoroughly examine her or suggest another facility where we could have taken her for better observation I feel as though she would still be here with us. And if they told us that there was nothing that could have been done to save her we would have had them humanely put her down instead of having her go through the pain that she went through during her final hours of life. After Jewelz passed on Monday 2/2/2015 I went back to the vet to let them know that she didn't make it and that I felt as though they were negligent in properly diagnosing my baby's injuries. I asked for a refund of the bill that we paid on Saturday totaling a little over $277.00. The vet looked me in my eyes and told me he wouldn't refund me the total amount because that would be admitting guilt. He refunded me the cost of the medication. At that point I pulled my other dogs records and told them that I will no longer need their services. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare. But we will use it a learning experience. Take the time to investigate the hands you put the lives of your loved ones in. read more

I have been a loyal customer for 13 years. My dog got sick and I got there at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday and they wouldn't see her. They said I needed to had made an appointment, that they are appointment only now. I don't see anywhere online that states they are appointment only during the week. I asked them to ask the doctor if she would see my dog or refill the prescription, they wouldn't even do that for me. I had to take my dog home to suffer another night. I already spent all my money taking my dog to the emergency room the weekend before last because you can't get Stockbridge Vet Hospital to answer their phone on Saturday walk-ins, even if you are parked in front of a number. My advise is find another vet. read more

I have been taking my dog there since she was a puppy. She is 5 years old now. They are absolutely the best. I've had to take her in because she could not walk. I thought something bit her and she was paralyzed. Turns out she just had severe muscle pain/spasms. I loved the fact that this office did not try to scare me an up charge me. The visit was only $62 dollars and she was walking within 2 days. The staff is always fast, friendly and professional. They are the best! read more

So this was our first time visiting this veterinary hospital and we had a simple procedure that was quoted at me at $80. I'm not one to crab over five dollars but I think it's bad business to give a quote and then at the end when the services provided say that the amount is $85. We told the attendant it was quoted at $80 and she didn't care to even look into it. We have multiple dogs that we could have been bringing back here for other services but because you're obviously not a company of your word we won't be coming back because we can go other places. In fact your location is closest to our house but but we willing to drive the extra distance because you can't even be held to a simple quote. Five dollars just lost you a customer. read more

This is a great vet with very reasonable prices. Now, I've never boarded an animal here to go out of town, but I've heard that their boarding conditions could use some work, so check it out before boarding your best friend. The doctors here have years of experience and are nice and attentive with you and your pet. I have been bringing my dog and two cats here for about 4 years and have always been pleased. They are a bit more "old school" than alot of vets, they don't run unnecessary tests and their setup doesn't look like it's changed since the 70's. I got both of my cats de-clawed here. A few months after my male cat had been de-clawed, he had a small calcium deposit growth on the top of his paw that he messed with until it broke through the skin. I called the vet to tell them what had happened and they took my cat in for a quick surgery to remove the "bone", free of charge since it was likely due to the recent de-clawing. I thought this was a nice gesture, they could have easily charged me and said that the incident wasn't related to their previous de-claw surgery. read more

I found an abandoned kitten in my apartment complex last year and took him here. I am relatively new to the area and had noticed this place while driving in the area so I did no research before hand. This place does not schedule appointments for routine work, but I believe they will schedule surgeries or procedures. So when I brought the kitten in, we sat in the waiting room for a little bit and filled out forms while we waited for our turn. The staff was very kind and gentle and took great care of him while we were there. He was small and pretty unhealthy looking, so they got him a heating pad and some food and water immediately while they ran some tests. Prices were reasonable and I left feeling good about this place. The kitten ended up with digestive problems, and I spent a decent amount of money on enemas and x-rays and medicine to try and save him. The outlook wasn't good, more than one doctor tried to prepare us for the likelihood of the little guy not making it... But the doctors did everything in their power to save him and he pulled through. We ended up finding his brother abandoned a couple weeks later and brought him in as well. Both are about a year old now and doing well. This place has always been great: I've dealt with pretty much all the staff here and everyone has done a great job. They also answer questions over the phone which has been helpful when I needed some clarification or help with medicine, etc. read more

I thought I found a vet that my Abraham was going to be taken care of. My first visit was awesome, second visit wasn't very happy that I couldn't go in for the 2nd dose of his vaccine but didn't think it was that big of a deal until the next day Abraham was lethargic and wouldn't eat or drink. He actually hadn't eaten anything since his vaccine that morning of the vaccine. I called at 2:30 and was told to bring him in before 4:00. I got there at 3:00 and someone came out to get him about 3:30 and wanted to take him in without me, I said no. I'm coming in with him or the doctor can come out because the first time I brought him in I came in with him and he was fine yet yesterday I didn't come in with him and now he's not going well so the trust is gone. She said ok and went back inside, about 4:00 another employee comes out and wants to take Abraham in without me. I asked if the previous person told him anything I had said? He said yes I just want to hear it from you in your own words (said he was the doctor) so I told him that Abraham hadn't eaten anything since the vaccine yesterday and was lethargic all day. I also said he finally drank a little water just now since we have been waiting for the first time today. He said okay, what's a good number to call you on? I said why? He said to call you on if we need to talk to you while he's inside. I said he's not going inside without me. I said then you can do it here, inside or outside of truck. He then said I can't do the exam without taking him inside, I asked why? He said it's a liability, he could runaway or get away and get hit by a car, I said problem solved I have a retractable leash to be able to keep him close to me. He then changed it from "I can't to I WON'T and said "no I won't examine outside I will only examine him inside" I replied not without me and repeated why and added I have lost my trust with y'all, that seemed to make him extremely happy because he was quick to reply with a smile on his face "then we are done here if you don't trust us so bye and turned his back on me to walk back inside. I have definitely used this vet for the very last time. I tried giving them redemption, but to no avail and not worth jeopardizing my furry babies! My dog had a growth that needed to be remove, so I took her back to where her babies/puppies were delivered. A little over a month after her surgery, I noticed the area where an IV had been placed looked a lil inflamed, so I cleaned with peroxide and put some neoprene on it. Over the next several months, the area looked to be improving, but little did I know it was not. Due to a serve back injury, I was unable to do too much and was basically in bed outside of going to the doctors. I was placed on restrictions of no lifting or bending, which is why it took me the 4 months before I could take my baby back to the vet. The night before I returned to the vet, I noticed it was extremely red, so I look closely and there is a bump full of pus and blood... OMG! My poor lil girl... So the next morning I take my baby back to the vet and like an abusive man, it's my fault my dog has an infected leg. REALLY!!! They accuse me of my dogs injury because I took 4 months to bring her back in, which I have my own health issues. But the nerve of this doctor first telling me she never stuck my dog with an IV or any other type of needle for surgery, so basically she was trying to remove herself from causing this to happen. So I said, so you want me to believe you didn't sedate my baby to preform surgery, you just cut her without it. I just couldn't believe the doctor is gonna stand in front of me lying. So, her aid comes back in with meds and surgical wipes and then they want me to pay for the exam and meds $85.00. REALLY!!! You want me to pay for your doctor using a DIRTY NEDDLE on my baby and her leg becoming infected - I'm appalled!!! They want me to be at blame for their actions of using a dirty needle and then tell me not to return! I would never bring my worst enemies dog there even, if someone paid me a million dollars - NEVER! So please beware or this dirty clinic for your loving babies. The doctor looks just like my dogs infected leg - a hot mess! Sorry, but I am fuming over this and pray the board of health shuts them down! Lesson learned! read more

I had been using this vet since 2005 after adopting my 1st dog. Adopted a 2nd dog Jack in 2009. On March 8 Jack became very sick with a bacterial infection in his intestines. We called this vet on March 10 and were told sorry no appointments today. Or the next day. And they're no longer open on Saturday, even though their web site wrongly states they are. We were told they could see him IN A WEEK on March 17. We told them how ill he was and he would not survive this condition for a week and also - don't you carve out time for emergencies each day? After nearly 20 years of being a client - which they knew when pulling up Jack's record - they didn't give a crap, repeating like a robot 'no appointments until next Thursday'. We reached out to Eagles Landing Veterinary Hospital on Hwy 42 and they saw him at 10:00am that morning and saved our dog's life. BTW, Eagles landing is open Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm; Saturday 8am - 4:30pm and Sunday 10am - 6:00pm. Stockbridge Vet with their useless office hours and 'meh, appointments only even if emergency' will never get another dime from me. We are so glad we found a GREAT vet that is actually OPEN and WANTS TO CARE FOR YOUR PETS!! Hey Stockbridge Vet, screw you, screw your rude employees, screw your piss poor customer service and screw your lack of pet care. I've read the other reviews and keep it up - you'll be out of business soon and rightly so and good riddance. read more

I am really disappointed in them. My dog started choking at around 5:15 pm. I gave him water and was rubbing his throat, but he kept coughing. I was scared so I called this hospital to see if they could see him right away. The lady that answered the phone seemed annoyed and told me they generally don't see any dogs after 5:00 pm. Then she said "well, I guess if you want to bring him in, you can pay the emergency fee of $115, but I need you to make sure he's in here by 6pm." I told her that I just wanted to make sure my dog was ok. She then repeated "if you're paying the fee, then bring him in ..." Thankfully, he stopped choking shortly after the call and is now doing fine. I do wonder, however, what would have happened if I couldn't afford the $115. Would she have told me to go sc**w myself? She definitely didn't try to refer me to someone else. These pets are like family, so why not have some compassion in these circumstances. The reaction from the lady was very callous and off putting. I've been bringing my dog to them for a year. I'm now going to switch to another facility. read more

After bringing two dogs and a cat in for yearly shots and being quoted a price over the phone then arriving and them charging almost $20 more per animal than was quoted and then when I call them to let them know they double charged me on one of my dogs they notice they didn't charge me for shots that were covered under the original quote and that I owed them!!! My male yorkie has been under the care of Dr.Martin he is 15 + years old with recent medical issues , she was so kind to give me extra time info on hospice care and pain medication . Awful Boarding Services!!! My fur baby smelt like urine and had an abrasion on his nose after a 4 night stay. His tongue had a super thick white coating as a result of dehydration. I wasn't informed of an incident that occurred as a result of his nose being bruised as when I called about it, they said they didn't know what happened. Why was he deprived of water?? I asked if he had any accidents in his crate as a result of being away from home and she replied, No. However, he was reaping urine. What else would you expect, if they don't tend to him between the times of 5:45PM and 830AM. He's expected to hold his urine over 13 1/2 hours.. This along is animal cruelty...
