There were 2 flat benches, 3 inclines (one of which could not be adjusted due to missing knob) and one seated bench which was missing the seat. I waited 25 minutes for a bench and never did get one. There was almost 2 rows of missing weights 20-35 lbs I believe and as there were only 4 people using the weights, not sure what to think. For $40 (my fully equipped club charges $25 day pass as does the fully equipped 24 hr fitness nearby I expected a more fully equipped gym. There were a lot of cardio and fitness machines if that's what you are looking for but if you are looking for a free weight fitness program, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. I mentioned the broken benches and missing weights to the front desk and he is "going to let the fitness director know" - shouldn't they already know? Anyway spent too much money and didn't really get a decent workout. Just spoke with club ambassador Rocco - he reached out regarding my experience. He explained that I was there during their busy time and they are repairing the benches and will be expanding their free weights areas in the near future. Felt better that I was heard and the club was already working on a solution.

I think it makes a big difference. It is saying, I acknowledge you and welcome you in versus I really don't care enough to even look at you because I'm in the middle of looking at something on my phone or in the middle of a conversation with another employee. I activated it this morning at 6:25am received emails acknowledging my 3 day trial with an appointment to come at 6:30am for a walk through of the facility. Came at 6:30am today and spoke to a polite gentleman by the name of Resean who acknowledged my pass was valid and allowed me to work out but said that he was short staffed at that time and could not give me the walk through and if I came back later when there was more staff I could have the walk through... but still allowed me to work out. I then came back tonight today again at 8pm after work for the walk-through and a lady at the front told me that if I didn't have a "bar code" that I could not work out, much less a walk through and/or introduction. And this was after showing her my emails from In-Shape acknowledging the 3 day pass. So that's ok... me and my girlfriend would've purchased two annual all club memberships with buddy passes and full $30 add ons valued at no less than $1800+ a year and we will go to 24 hour fitness.

So coming back to Instaphysique I had more of a foundational knowledge and knew what was ahead of me. But not only that but you also start to find instructors that you prefer their cues and/or energy and that makes a HUGE difference. I love my classes Kristin and Marisa. Clear cues and they have no mercy on my hammies and booty cheeks - but in a good way. When I started I was 5 months postpartum and they were very dedicated to giving me modifications but as soon as my strength started to build again, they challenged me without being pushy or making me feel bad if I couldn't follow. Some tactical things: parking is great in the morning but once 12p and beyond hit, you're fighting lunch and dinner crowds in the parking lot. Not impossible but just not princess parking. There are two clean restrooms in the studio. There isn't really a designated bag/shoe place but you can have it at your station or against the wall. Classes are a bit pricey, I have a membership to cut some cost. However, it's a great 40 minutes and it goes by super fast. I find it to be a VERY efficient burn.

There were a few folks there in the morning. Someone was also cleaning the gym too. She was really doing a great job cleaning EVERYTHING. Kudos to her. First off, vibes are immaculate. Purple is one of my favorite colors, so when the lights turn on, it is an awesome setting to be in. High ceilings and a wide array of equipment. Treadmills, assault bikes, box jumps, free weights, barbells, mats, and more. The punchbag set up seem super interesting to me, so definitely interested in seeing them used in action. Classes are available too. I hope timing works out that next time I'm in the area, I can try a class out! A quick glance on their website, looks like they have a free "60-min Body Transformation Game Plan Session" (50 available) as of Mar'23. Definitely a great way to get your foot in the door to see if this spot is for you. Two bathrooms and water fountain available on site. Easy parking in the plaza, which is also a plus. I went back to use the ladies restroom, and I was very upset that it, the ladies locker room smelled like urine and the toilet was leak leaking. The same hand dryer that had been broken when I left, was still broken. There was hair all over the floor, two of the sinks were nonfunctioning, and there was hardly anybody in the gym compared to when I had been in there two months ago. Granted, I used to go in anywhere from 2 o'clock in the morning until noon... and this was around three in the afternoon.... But boy, what a difference in atmosphere. Not good. I understand the original owner had just re-purchased the franchise back in December and had intended to turn it around. I thought that his efforts would be in good faith, but what I learned was that he runs a good old boy operation.... You see I had complained about the manager at the Micron Avenue gym. They can't keep a female nit out there. I wonder why.. I asked the manager and he got angry with me and had me served a restraining order. So I was no longer able to go to that gym. I guess that wasn't good enough for him because then he had me banished from all 24 Hour Fitness Gym's in Northern California.. Suffice it to say, if you're a female, you may not be safe in those gyms. And if you dare to say anything about it, you might just get restrained from entering them.. I'm not saying that that will happen to you but it happened to me and I'm a 66-year-old woman.
