About 3 weeks ago I stopped in knowing about what I wanted.. the customer service rep listened and found me an aisle or 2 to chose from with out being overwhelmed .. 2 weeks ago a rep came out and efficiently measured, and today 2 more reps came out and did the install. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Had no choice but to use this company as we bought our countertop through Lowe's and they dropped our granite off the truck cuz it wasn't tied down, came with a new piece, installed it crooked, had to come back out and reinstall not once but twice, 3rd times a charm? Nope less than 2 years later the piece behind the sink is sagging and they refuse to stand behind their work and fix it as an installer, they told me they no longer work with Lowe's so they should deal with it, nice customer service. STOP! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! We had counter tops installed and can not believe the crappy work they OVERCHARGE for. I am a licensed general contractor, NC Lic # 63784, and know a good job from a bad. First off, the finished product has a "burn" spot on the surface. Looks to me like a chemical was spilled. Next the undermount. Sink is half exposed. That's right, half under, half exposed. Finally, after 2 months, the sink is loose and leaks where the undermount sink mounts to the counter top. The excuses range from people no longer working there to template was wrong. Be Smart and use someone else. Don't make the same $4000 mistake I did and hire this wanna B company. read more

Just bought granite counter tops from A-1. Everyone, from the office staff to the template maker to the the cutter to the install crew were gracious and easy to work with. Special kudos to Vince who came to our house to make the template, Pasquale who worked with us with our special cut on the slab and Tyler and his crew who did the install. We could not be happier! We have an island that requires a very unique design, one piece with 10 sides and it fits perfectly! The result is beyond our expectations. This is not our first granite purchase but definitely the best experience. We have friends who referred us to A-1 because they were also very happy with the end result. The bottom line is that we highly recommend A-1 for stone countertops. Addendum: we picked out our slabs at Granite Depot. The people there were very patient and helpful when it came time to select our slabs. They have a great selection of different stones, patterns and colors. We fell in love with Fantasy brown granite so Rachael sent us to her wholesalers to find Fantasy brown slabs. We found one we loved and they agreed to put a 3 days hold on it for us. They contacted A1 with our selection and we called A1 4 times, emailed and left messages in that 3 day time period to try and pay or do whatever we needed to do to secure the slab. Rachael never returned our calls or emails. We lost our slab and had to start over with another company. While working with the other Fabricator we learned A1 is SIGNIFICANTLY higher priced, their processing time is SIGNIFICANTLY slower, and they charged extra for things that were included with the new fabricator. Do yourself a favor and do NOT use A1. Evidently they are too busy for new business. Art of Granite will be happy to take care of you! read more

Let me start with saying I almost "never" give a 5 star rating unless the service walks on water. This company came close to doing that. We recently had our 12 year old counter tops remodeled. We were referred to this company by another vendor who didn't do "stone" counter tops. We contacted A1 Stone World and had an in house visit and quotes within 24 hours. We thought we wanted quartz until we went to their "show room" and saw the granite he had to offer. The quartz was nice but didn't have the "life" I wanted to live with for the life of our kitchen. We picked "our" stone and within three weeks of contacting the company to installation we were done! And ever so pleased! The owner of the company handled the majority of our transaction however every one else we came in to contact with at A 1 were every bit as professional as the owner. The installation went without a hitch. And all went as planned if not better. The quality of the product and professionalism of the individuals we came in to contact with was beyond expectation. We love our new looking kitchen and would highly recommend this company to family and friends. We had some people over to our home recently who had remodeled their kitchen earlier this year and they were admiring our counter tops and the quality of the stone. As we talked we discovered they had used A 1 Stone World for their remodel (they choose to use quartz) and we were comparing notes and their thoughts about service and quality almost mirrored our own. Not only did they quote me $3,000 more than several other fabricators, they wanted me to purchase two slabs of quartzite and they were trying to convince me they would have to place 3 seams in my countertops. This place doesn't have a clue what they're doing. We got it done with one slab, one seam, and thousands less from another company. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
