Went to Stone Age on May 4, 2019 to purchase a slab for our fireplace remodel. My wife immediately fell in love with a slab called Lemurian Blue and the salesman Joe gave us a fantastic price that we could not pass it up. So we purchased without hesitation, signed the contract, gave him my credit card and slapped a SOLD sticker on the slab. We walked out the door feeling confident we got a great deal. A week later, when my contractor was scheduled to pick it up, I called Stone Age to make sure the slab was ready to go. When I spoke to Joe he told me the order was cancelled. First of all, I did not receive one single phone call from him or anyone at Stone Age about the cancelled order. I was completely caught by surprise and confused why the order was cancelled. They explained, that it was already sold and allocated for another customer. I told him, if that was the case why didn't the slab have a SOLD sticker on it or why wasn't I notified when I was signing the contract. My suspicion is that Joe made a mistake. Sold it to me at the wrong price, way too low at $1700 compared to other stores nearby where they were selling the same slab for $3500 or more. After this long debate with Joe and the manager, I walked back to the yard and found the slab I purchased. The SOLD sticker with my name on it was peeled off and replaced with another SOLD sticker with a date of 3/1/2019. Really? It takes Stone Age over 3 months to realize a slab was previously sold. The only conclusion I can make about my experience at Stone Age are these guys are DECEITFUL or IMCOMPENTENT and cannot keep track of their customer's orders or inventory. I personally feel they are DECEITFUL, LIARS, cancelling the order after they realizes they completely under SOLD it. I would not trust them with your business. read more

I would rate zero star if I could. They do not want anyone to voice displeasure after many mess ups and delays. I came up possible options to work around their mess ups, investigated ideas with various contractors to try to help THEM out. I had to let their people borrow my tools as they didn't have their own. Their employee tried to use wood for a subfloor that had DO NOT USE FOR STRUCTURAL SUPPORT STAMPED ON IT. They punctured my screen door. They left cement all over my yard. They were going leave unfinished tile on the side of the seat. I gave them much grace and ended up only 2 viable possibilities to fix the a seat made too big. They would agree then start the investigations over and over to delay each time they would finally get to scheduling when to begin fixing it. The last day they came out they stood in the shower, which has yet to be used and the floor grout cracked. Then when they were delaying by saying they were again going to start the investigation over I voiced that was not acceptable, that they agreed to start with one of the options they walked off. They out and out lied using the word "accost" when being upset and only assertively voicing was/is justified. They really walked off from the beginning as there was no supervisor, quality control or follow up. read more

Went to the "tile mile" to look for stone for a newly installed hearth at my home. Visited a few stores that had decent offerings but nothing that jumped out at us. Customer Service at the 3 earlier stores was great, we were greeted as soon as we walked in & shown several options which unfortunately did not work out for us. The "Stone Age Tile" store was across the street so we just made our way over there by foot to see what they had to offer. In terms of having a nice store & showroom they did have that but in terms of "customer service" they had none of that. There were about 5 sales women walking around the store that did not even make an attempt to look our way or even give a fake smile to us. We actually felt very unwelcome there, not sure why that was but after reading some other reviews appears we are not the first to feel this way. Maybe we fit a certain profile that they do not cater to? Who knows but a fake smile would have gone a long way. We were in the store a good 15-20min. & not a single "hello" or "can I help you" from any of the sales ladies on the floor. One even did their best to avoid approaching us by going around the display we were at seemingly to avoid any form of interaction with us. Not sure what the deal was. I would've cut them some slack if they at least asked if we needed help but nothing from no one, not even eye contact. It was a very uncomfortable experience. Anyhow we left & went across the street & got some really great customer service. We ended purchasing stone for our hearth off a place on Ball & State College, "Onyx Stone". Great customer service there. It is funny that this is the recent feedback given from the owner of store on a similar experience from another potential customer & we saw no check-in process implemented at all, very odd... Wow....what an experience of attempting up charges, poor customer service,and no over site of their installation crew and final installation job quality. Let me tell you my experience and this may help you if you decide to go with them. First let me say that Stoneage has one of the nicest showrooms and fabrication shops in Orange County. I dealt with Carl for my Granite Counter Tops and cannot recommend anyone deal with him and I'll explain why. First thing you have to be very careful of is there contract. It is an "Estimated Contract" which means they have the discretion of upchargeing you if there template technician decided he does not agree with your measurements or calculations. They tried to upcharge me hundreds of dollars even thought i provided professional cad drawings with all the measurements provided. I had to actually contact the owners to settle this issue as Carl was totally indifferent to my view. Once i personally had to take off from work and go over all my drawings and information with the owner he agreed with me to lower the cost closer to the signed contract price. My Advice!.....Get a "Final Quote" and do not sign a contract that specifies "Estimated Cost" After the install here is the list of Damage to my custom made and finished cabinets Damage to Left Tall Pantry Cab. No attempt by installers to protect surface with cardboard,tape,etc. Damage to Right Side Tall Pantry Cab. No attempt by installers to protect surface with cardboard,tape,etc. Half way through the job the lead installer left without even saying anything to me. He left his crew to finish so i give 1 star for supervising the job by a qualified supervisor which resulted in the damage above. 1......Chipped Backsplash Edges 2.....Poorly fined countertop face edges. If you look at the pics you can see the edges look whiteish and not nearly as nicely polished as the top surface. Looks detracting 3.....Large chunk chipped at Backsplash Edge and filled with epoxy to hide. Epoxy is now lifting from the stone and is very noticeable. 4.....Poor fit of side (end) backsplash to wall. No attemp was made by installer to correct. Seemed like they were more concerned about getting the job done as fast as possible sacrificing a quality install.Craftmanship was not their priority. 5.....Left a huge mess on my Black Lava Landscape in font of my house. No drop cloths were used . There were just about to drive away and i had to demand that they clean up there mess of grinding dust,cut granite pcs., etc. Very sloppy working ethics. Ill try to post some pics here When i contacted Carl about the damage and poor edge polishing he was very apathetic to the situation. He wanted to send one of their guys but i told him these were custom made cabinets and the finish was sprayed in a automotive spray both by a professional finisher! The only way to repair the dented cabinet on the right was to uninstall the granit and cabinet and have the cabinet shop make up a new panel. There was no way i was going to do that or let anyone of there crew come in my house again. Am i supposed to let them try to polish the granite edges inside my custom kitchen and newly remodeled dining and open living room areas?? No Thanks!!!! Stone Age has as beautiful Showroom to impress you but after you sign the contract and give them your credit card number you get a third world team of workers that is 180 degrees different than most people spending thousands of dollars expect. I love the variety and selection of countertops here! They have the most unusual patterns for onyx and granite. I must confess I ammmm a sucker for the caramel swirls with hints of expresso and cream. (check out pix) And when the spotlights under the cabinets hit the counter with soft lighting I hear the heavens open up with sounds of 'ahhhhhhhhhh':) Gorgeous! Because I couldn't find such awesome pieces anywhere else, I'd say Stone Age rocks! Outstanding. My husband and I worked with Lacy Spano on this marble walk-in shower. From start to finish Lacy acted with professionalism and coordinated everything, keeping close communication throughout the process, roughly two weeks from demo through installation of Calacata oro 3x12 brick overlay. Another week for custom door, so worth the price for thicker glass, clear, and treated so it does not have water spots. The hot mop process takes a day, however please know you need to vacate and sleep elsewhere... gave my husband and I headaches, but our place is tiny.... so if you have a huge house, no problem. Would I work with them again. Absolutely! Special thanks to Domingo, his wife, and Louise, and Leo. They listened to me and worked hard to meet our vision. These guys are true artisans! StoneAge was not our cheapest quote, however they did meet pricing for stone priced from another company. I feel, it was worth the price difference to know I had a contact, Lacy, with an artist's eye, who would make sure it was beautiful at the end, she gave me that confidence, and she was on it, when I texted, I got immediate responses, and she made sure everyone arrived at specified times. Look elsewhere, nightmare. I should have listened to many of the reviews on YELP, but I forgot to check as they came recommended. But I share the exact same problems as the many other unhappy customers. Pros: Nice showroom, good sales rep. Dave Lotti was my sales rep, he knows countertops very well and quickly narrowed down the selection, and within a short time I had a 24k contract which I signed and gave a deposit, good experience up to this point. But, this is where the good experienced ends, and the nightmare began. Cons: The company has zero communications with the customer through the insall process. There is no one even to communicate with, and the company even admits this. They make contractual commitments, they can not keep. In my case, they promised installation completion 2 weeks after making templates, instead it was 3+ months. I had to harass them on a daily basis to finish the job. They saw zero urgency and would try to push blame on the customer with the most hideous excuses. The company admits to being horribly late, but feels no responsibility to compensate customers accordingly. In my case, holding costs for this house was $7k per month. Their statement was, yeah we screwed up, but we dont ever pay for it.... Workmanship - sub standard. The installer took two small sinks in a large top and covered them with up to 3/4" over hang. The sinks became so small, they look so odd, everyone comments on the oddity. The company does not communicate any of this with you before the work, they just do it and install it, and if you are not happy, their attitude is tough luck. They tried to suggest some type of industry standard, but a quick google search proved their attempt at a justification was just a lie to escape responsibility. They were belligerent about it as well. Another small sink, they did perfect with maybe 1/16" of an overhang. What is their reasoning? It just happened, live with it, tough luck. This could have all been discussed during fabrication, but zero communicaitons which the company openly admits. Then they threaten you with putting a lien on your house if you are not happy and dont pay. So you should pay, then file a complaint with the contractors board and the judicial system. That was my experience, I would not wish this experience on anyone. I have done prob. 25 house remodels, and never I have experienced a belligerent sub contractor like this. The business if family owned. Tina is very polite and pleasing, but offered nothing for these specific problems. Roger, the CEO, is nearly impossible to communicate with, his position is, we are great, the damage done to a customer is not relevant to him at all, yes he told me that direct. They gave me a credit for another sinks they did improperly, as I did not have the time for them to correct them. It looks horrible. Sooner or later, I was bound to hit that nightmare contractor we all hear about, and for me it was stoneage. I would never recommend this business. And I am so dissapointed I did not read YELP reviews before hiring them, as soooo many complain of the same problems. Lesson learned, read reviews FIRST, not after you sign a contract. read more

I'm giving one star for selection. I'll start with the positive: they have a good selection and I enjoyed working with my specific consultant, Rafael, but when the install was done incorrectly and resulted in damage to our wall and island, our consultant handed us off to the owner, Roger Hajali, who basically told us to F off. We even referenced the one year labor warranty, which was applicable given the damage, and took the time to compile and send all the videos and pictures as requested by Roger and he never even responded. Horrible business practice. Roger is the one that had asked us to send the pictures and video of the damage and provided his email for them to be sent to but then never responded. Roger is an older man and he has slightly misogynistic views - he flat out refused to speak with me (the wife) and only wanted to deal with my husband although I am the one that decided all of the finishes for our kitchen remodel and I am an attorney. Perhaps he was intimidated that I was an attorney and was worried that we would sue the company which we could have but decided on peace of mind and a yelp review instead as we had already spent too much time and energy on this remodel gone wrong. I would not recommend this place because on the off chance any part of your install is done incorrectly, they will not stand by their contract and once they have your money, will stop responding. They are interested in getting the customer but clearly not keeping them. We have other remodeling in our home but we are not using Stone Age for any of it and cannot in good conscious recommend them to any friends. I would go with a different company and there are several in the same area. read more

I just moved to Orange County from the Bay Area a few years ago. Sorry for the delayed review due to my busy work schedule. I got my kitchen counter from Stone Age and it was the worth nightmare of my life!!! The single piece of slab (Stellar Night in Quartz) for my kitchen I paid was about $4500. I expected to be cut in two piece however they tried to jib me and sent me 3 pieces! I didn't want two lines in my u-shaped kitchen, s I had to reschedule the slab. They wasted my half day of work. The second time they showed up, they replaced it with two pieces with cracks on the edges. I was furious and didn't want to pay them. They had to reschedule again for the third time to polish the edges. They refuse to exchange so I got stuck with these polished cracked edge slabs. After one year of use, the crack got bigger to about a quarter size! I highly recommend getting your tile or remodeling elsewhere! I wasted three days of work, 1 month of kitchen down time, and $4500 for a piece of cracked slab in two pieces! ZERO STAR!!! P.S. During demo, they cracked a big piece of paint and chipped wood on the edge of my kitchen wall. I asked them if they'll fix it, then the salesperson said that if I order a new back splash from them they'll fix it for free. NO THANK YOU!!! read more

If you are anywhere in Southern California and shopping for your remodel project YOU MUST GO to tile mile in Anaheim and see Yoram at Stone Age Tile, Inc.! Exemplary customer service through out the entire process. Even though my project was relatively small, a 10' x 9' kitchen counter top, Yoram took his time and showed me the full range of materials in Stone Age's extensive showroom and slab yard. I ended up with an American-made counter by Cambria and could not be happier. It's a beautiful product that really makes my kitchen appear larger than it is. Clean, clear design and a durable material. Better yet, the pricing for the slab and installation came in $1000 less than that of the big box home improvement stores. Numerous times,Yoram's customer service went above and beyond my highest expectations and delivered on every count. In the design phase, his suggestions were invaluable as I attempted to create the feel of a larger kitchen and ended up removing a soffit and raising the ceiling. Unlike my horrible experience at a big box store, Yoram was thorough in explaining the fabrication process and timeline. When it came time to install the counter, Stone Age repeatedly worked with my shifting schedule. After the template was created and my schedule changed again, Yoram, Alex who installed the counter, and the fabrication shop worked together to accommodate my request. Alex and his crew who installed the counter top are highly-skilled, courteous professionals. They were prompt, efficient, and did a top-notch job. See the pictures I uploaded. I was a little concerned when they had to move the slab seam from the sink to the corner, however look at the fourth picture I uploaded, the seam is invisible. Excellent overall customer experience; courteous, honest and informed professionals, and installation work that would impress even the most discerning client. Five stars for service from Zack Habaibeh! I state that upfront because if you look through the reviews, you'll see a wide variety of ratings - however, you'll read nothing but good things about Zack. We bought the slabs for our backyard here a few years ago. Back then, Alex was our "go to" guy - he's been promoted to a buyer now, and now Zack is our man! Have not used Stone Age installation, cabinets or fabrication - cannot comment on those services - only purchases of granite slabs, and tile. They have a well laid out tile showroom, and a large slab yard. There are several cabinet displays to help with inspiration - including this very intricate hand carved cabinetry - by an artist from Azerbaijan. He was working on it when we were there - I can't imagine it actually in a house - but it's really cool, - just to the right after you pass the reception desk - it's worth a quick stop if your in the area to check it out. I should've taken some pictures - will ask if it's ok next time. Zack does a great job communicating, he works to get exactly what you want at the best price possible, and get it delivered when you need it. Sometimes this is out of his control - but he'll make several calls, and keep trying to work things out for you. I appreciate the effort. We've had two tile orders with him - the cost has been as quoted, orders were filled on time and accurately. He can help when you're looking for cost efficient materials - like some countertops I want to put into our rental property - when I get him the measurements Zack is going to look for some closeouts/remnants for me. Zack understands a reputation for good personal service is what people value, and that it will bring new and repeat customers. It's important to him, he reads his Yelp reviews - even has some displayed - maybe this one will make it to his desk! We'll be ordering our Belgian Truffle Limestone countertop slab soon - so when we return to Stone Age - we'll be asking for Zack, and recommend you the same! read more

Stay away! This company is odd. I recently bought a new home and was having a lot of work done, from tiles, to carpet, to paint, etc. Every vendor I contacted said they would provide me an estimate. I called Stone Age and spoke to the Vice President Yoram and he said they don't give estimates. They are so busy, they don't have time to go out for estimates. So I asked how they do business and he said for me to measure my own rooms and draw my own floor plan and then come in to discuss with him. Without realizing how much work it is to measure each nook and cranny and turn in a home is very time consuming. After I had spent so much time doing it, I decided to go in and see their price. Yoram didn't trust that I measured properly so in his estimate he added a lot of extra sqft of work and said he would remove the extra sqft of work if I did measure correctly (he never did remove it). I had Yoram provide me estimates for a hallway bathroom, a laundry room and a big master bedroom. He drew the design on paper....yes paper with a pencil. I thought he would later transfer that design into a computer generated image, but he never did. The installer came to my home with the same pencil drawing and he used that to create the intricate design (see my picture for Yoram's drawing). That should have been my first clue that this is about to get screwy....but I couldn't stop it now, I saw this when the installer arrived at my home and began demolition. The contract I signed with Stone Age has a start date and an end date. Yoram said the work would be done in 5 days, so I put the end date, 5 days after my start date. Yoram called me and said I needed to remove the end date, because "this is construction and we have delays". I listened to him and removed it. I told him that I was going to move into the home within 6 days to give him a buffer and he assured me the work would be done in 5 days. Nope! My movers had to work around the installer. (the work took 7 days to complete). When I went to Stone Age to select tile, I told Yoram that I wanted a sample to take home with me so that I can compare it to the tile that the installer brings. Good thing I took the tile, because Yoram ended up ordering the wrong tile for my home. He had to reorder the tile after I called him out on it. Luckily we found this out during the demo phase Yoram also told me that because of my intricate design, he wanted to go with his "A team" of installers. He told me he was sending over a guy named Domingo. Nope! The guy that arrived was named Ala. Now, I live in a gated community with a guard. I told them i'll being getting a visitor named Domingo from Stone Age tile. The installer "Ala" called me to complain that the guard won't let him in. I was confused because I put down his name and company. Apparently, Ala told the guard he worked for Alladin Tile. When I asked why he did that, he said he doesn't work for Stone Age, that they subcontracted out. I called Yoram and asked where his "A team" installer Domingo is. Yoram said they all work together and that Domingo is Ala's boss. Nope! Ala said he has no boss and that he owns his own company. At this point Ala asked me how much Yoram charged me and he told me that he would have charged me half the price. Btw, Ala and Alladin Tile can be reached at 714-599-4977. But before you call Alladin tile, read this! Ala must have been the "C team" because he was not able to follow the pencil drawing and do my intricate design. The cuts he made in the tile were not straight. He never washed the grout off my tile and now I have grout haze on my marble. He didn't follow the design on the paper properly and had to remove a large section that he had finished and start over. Certain sections of tile are raised higher than others which can cut your feet if you walk right over it. It was just a bad job. I paid $4200 for this design and it is a waste. Aside from that, I had asked Yoram to make sure the installers put down plastic to protect my new carpet. Yoram looked at me like I was an idiot and said "obviously they will do that". Well, it wasn't obvious to the installer. This guy did not put anything on the carpet. When they did the demolition, they left chunks of material all over my new carpet. (see pics). Then he began putting the thinset (concrete used to hold tile) and this clumsy guy dropped a bunch of it on my new carpet. It was stuck to the carpet like gum! (see pics again). Aside from all of that, he never showed up on time. I told Yoram that I need to leave for work at 8:30 and to make sure the installer shows up by then. Day 1, he showed up at 10:45. Day 2 he showed up at 9:30, Day 3 he showed up at 9:10....get the picture? Oh and he didn't even start on the day that was listed on the contract. I got a text from Yoram the day before the scheduled install date and was told that his installer's job ran long and he won't be able to start until the following day. We did not have a great experience with Stone Age. We were given inaccurate information by our sales rep. We planned our entire remodel off the schedule and product information the sales rep provided. Once there was a clear problem regarding the lead time of the material we could not get Stone Age to give us a updated installation date. Their failures resulted in a 3 week slip in our kitchen remodel schedule. We attempted to reach out and get answers from Stone Age, we talked to multiple people including a manager but were left without answers. After 3 weeks without answers we finally got a install date. Also, we paid 86% of our contract value before our countertops were installed, if you use Stone Age the contract and make sure you understand and are comfortable with the terms . As a customer It is frustrating to give a company 86% of your contract value and not even get a phone call returned after multiple attempts. Poor customer service. We walked in and Jesus greeted us. He asked what we're looking for so we said Porcelain tile in wood look in a lighter wood/beige/whitish tone. Not glossy. He didn't listen to us at all. In less than 10minutes he managed to show us various sizes and looks of styles including marble look, glossy, and linen. Only two that he showed were wood look. When we asked for price for a specific tile, he said the whole area we just looked are all around $9 sq.ft. Really?!? At a wholesale store?!? Not only did he ignore what we specifically asked for, he also didn't show us a whole section of wood look porcelain area we noticed on our way out! And the price, $4.99.... Either he was just trying to sell us the most expensive tiles regardless of what we were looking for or he's not knowledgeable of the products and has poor listening skills. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service!!! I went to see this place on Saturday and I was completely ignored. It was like if I was invisible. They have a huge selection but customer service is HORRIBLE!!! I walked out off that place without one single person even acknowledging my presence yet alone trying to help me.
