The Stone Mountain Country Store outside the Stone Mountain State Park is a great place to stop and get a snack and drink coming to or from the park. I had a chance to come here after a day of hiking and they had some refreshing drinks that really tasted good on a warm day. They have an old fashioned soft drink refrigerator that still works really well and I liked reaching in there and getting a drink. I really like the vibe and atmosphere of this store as it is a true country store that has everything you need to get by on a country day. The staff here is very friendly and can answer any questions you have about the local area and are very helpful. This country store is awesome I enjoyed my visit here.

Good selection of products, and several different flavors of ice cream to choose from, but AVOID their burgers, absolutely awful.

This was the spot! I got a double cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. Just enough pink without being 'undercooked'. It was delicious. I also got a hot dog, a Carolina dog it was called. The coleslaw on top was crispy and delicious! The other ingredients on it were perfectly portioned so nothing overpowered the hotdog at all; everything on it complimented the dog so very well. My wife got a Cuban burrito and absolutely loved it! Our party got some other hotdogs and burgers; all happy campers! Along with the burritos they brought chips; which tasted homemade. They were crispy and fresh. Now this place is know for bringing some heat on their offerings; and we did not order anything hot or spicy like that. Maybe next time! Other than that - this place was a treat. For seven of us the tab was under 100$ - which lately - that is a bargain. (For comparison when we were on the road - we stopped at a WaffleHouse which brought the tab to $104; and their food is hot garbage). So in summary - a 10/10 dining experience which we'll be excited to come back to! I should have taken pictures; but, I think the ones online do a sufficient job. I'll take some photos next trip! Thank you FSBWB! We can't wait to come back!

Although they ran out of many foods this Mother s Day which was a bit off puting the food in general was okay. We started with the charcuterie board which had pickles, olives, various flavorful cheeses, salami, prosciutto, salted nuts and glazed walnuts and 4 pieces of artisan bread. But there was no spreads such as mustard and no napkins or utensils other than a plate to enjoy our appetizer. They were brought once I asked for them. Restaurant wasn't full of patrons at that time I noted. Waitress was attentive when not too busy and friendly. I ordered a classic cheeseburger for my main course w a side of brussel sprouts in a champagne vinaigrette. They came quickly once I alerted the waitress we were ready to order our main course. The sprouts were under cooked and I had to saw at them w my knife and fork. My classic burger was good but they don't ask you how you want it cooked. We ordered desert but they were out of my selection as well as many other items I was interested in. So we just ordered coffee and they were out of cream just had a few creamers of French Vanilla and substitute sugar. But I would return for the Traminette wine and the deck views! Very nice! Plus they have live music occasionally. This place is off the beaten track but it is on Google Maps so you should be able to find the place but you will loose signal once you arrive but they have free wifi at the restaurant. So when you are looking for a casual, slightly romantic place to hang out, stop in. Everyone is friendly including the dogs! You can bring your dog if you plan on sitting on the deck just let restaurant know ahead of time. And if its Mother's Day you may receive a fresh rose to take home!

So no glass was poured by server for a satisfactory nod. When he walked away we poured ourselves a bit and then tasted. It tasted like pure vinegar. I received no cooperation when speaking about the situation, only a "I just work here, and I doubt the owner will do anything for you." I brought over half a bottle home just so my husband could confirm the nastiness of it, which he did. My suspicion is that the wine I ordered was replaced by some horrible low cost wine that had gone bad. Will not repeat this mistake. Just stick with the water. Also, meat was cooked medium well, not medium and my co-diner had to ask for the black bean patty she ordered because it was missing from her sandwich.

We were greeted walking in and told to sit where we liked, so we grabbed a table by a window and took a seat. Our server arrived a few minutes later with menus and took our drink orders. We ordered a basket of fried pickles and peppers to start and they arrived within about ten minutes. Golden brown batter fried, dill pickles and banana peppers, salty, tangy, crunchy, spicy, tasty. A good start. I opted for the dirty south burger, a chili cheddar cheese burger with slaw, jalepenos, and fried onions with mayo and mustard. A hearty burger, dripping chilli sauce, crunchy onions, and jalepenos. A good choice. An odd selection of drafts for a brewhouse? A lot of small craft signs on the wall but not on the board? Anyways, ordered a draft yuengling which was good. But I was looking for the local or even regional microbrew taps and they were not here. But I wiggled my vehicle into a tight spot and went in for a burger and a beer. I believe there were about 10 to 12 options available on tap, and I went with what was listed as an Irish stout from somewhere in the Northeast. It wasn't bad, though it seemed more like an imperial stout. My sandwich choice was the Cowboy, with ground elk at its core. It was a good choice too, and the accompanying fried onions and melted cheese complemented the meat well. I ordered the burger medium, but I think I'd go for medium rare if I could go back in time. The medium option wasn't bad, but I think a little less heat and a little more moisture would only make things better. I kept things simple with the side item, going for the fries which were of the thinly sliced McDonald's variety, not bad but nothing remarkable. The server covering my table was pleasant and prompt, though soft spoken so I occasionally had to ask her to repeat herself amidst the music and noise. I wouldn't call any of these selections a bargain, but the prices didn't veer too far from what you'll find in many burger joints. All in all, not an earthshaking experience, but a place I'd be willing to go back to. 3.5 stars.

We started with the pickled board, and it was just fun. A little bit of everything: pickled veggies, cucumbers with those pretty curls of onion, pimento cheese, bread, pork rinds, a little tomato jam. It felt like a Southern snack platter put together by someone who actually cares about balance and flavor. I ordered the pickled salad with chicken, and it was right up my alley. Fresh greens, great textures, pops of color, and the chicken was nicely seasoned and grilled. The dressing had that bright, tart thing going on that makes you want more of it. I would absolutely get this again. My husband got the Cassie salad, and while he said it was "fine," even he admitted everything was fresh and well done. The vibe here is relaxed, cozy, a little rustic, the kind of place that feels local in the best way. For a casual lunch in Boone, it hits the spot. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
