We waited for a while before the waiter came to our table to take our order, but once he did, he was very attentive and checked on us a couple of times to see if we needed anything. It was a busy place, especially on the weekend. I ordered "Eggs Any Style" with smoky maple sausage, potatoes, and toast. The potatoes were cooked just right. Some hit and misses At Brunch. A busy Saturday I stopped in to brunch. It's walk in only for brunch so I ensured to get beer before 1 pm. I like the restaurant, the sub level is cute and cozy almost making it feel like a separate space. I also saw they have an outdoor space which hopefully I can come back here for summer drinks. I had the passion fruit cocktail and my friends had the Guava cocktails which was really sour more than sweet. The passion fruit however was amazing, but when I ordered a second round it wasn't consistent. The best thing was the French toast with the berries and syrup. Every bite was sweet and the French toast was nice and fluffy, don't hesitate on getting that. I had the fried oysters which I was hopping would be great but it wasn't consistent more batter than oyster so I couldn't taste it. I would dry less batter and a sauce on top. My eggs and potatoes were really good though. The shrimp and grits could've been more gritty. It was a little on the thin side but I'm sure that's a quick fix. read more

I am gluten free and was searching the area for what felt like forever looking for a good brunch menu with GF options that wasn't just "a granola bowl" and this place hit the spot! I ordered the grits and they were fantastic. Very cheesy and yummy. Quite decadent and I wasn't able to finish it but enjoyed every bite. I sat at the bar as a party of 1. The bartender (an Irish woman) was incredibly kind and welcoming. She created a lovely environment. I didn't order an alcoholic beverage but the bloody Mary's that others ordered looked nice. Overall I felt the service was very good and people were very attentive given it was a Saturday brunch. Park Slope Sunday brunch spot that is made for Park Slope given the Park Slope location, Park Slope prices, and the Park Slope mentality. Hey Matthew S.! Will you stop saying Park Slope so much? Okay. The food here ranges from mediocre, to sloppy, to actually pretty good. The Eggs Benedict are okay, but are arrayed in such a sloppy way that if this is the only thing you order here, you will hate it. The potatoes were arrayed disgusting and are best not to be served. They look like someone just took a mashed and went crazy on these. They did not taste bad, but we eat with our eyeballs, and my eyeballs told me to stop eating these, so I did. The Canadian bacon is tough and dry. It was unpleasant eating it. At least the egg had good wobble, I enjoyed the Hollandaise sauce, and the English muffin was plenty nooky and cranny. I then fixated on the pancakes. What a full 180! The pancakes are light and fluffy and taste great. The fresh fruit compote is a nice addition. It adds a sweet note with going overboard. I never needed the syrup, as I felt it was not required. What is this, Quebec? While I gave it a four star review, it is more like 3.5 stars. Sorry folks, maybe next time, maybe never. I've been dining here for many years, mainly because whenever I offer to take my mother out to celebrate a special occasion, she always wants to go to Stone Park Cafe. She always loves it. I'm always underwhelmed. It's not that they do anything wrong per se. The service is always spot on. The cocktail are deelish. The food though just never quite hits the mark for me. Example: bread service is not complimentary here; it's a menu item. Which is fine, I can handle that. But six tiny slices of toasted bread on plate? Come on, man. If you're gonna make customers pay for bread service, don't be skimpy, do something nice! Another example: I recently had the house burger, which came with a choice of three cheeses, none of which I would ever put on a burger (I chose Maytag Blue - bad idea) and two (2) of the smallest pieces of bacon I've ever seen (small enough to be completely hidden by the top of the bun). Again, pretty underwhelming for a $26 burger. A final example: although their desserts have never really done it for me, we nonetheless ordered scoops of the house made ice cream and sorbet to finish our meal. The ice cream was good. The raspberry sorbet (hey, wasn't that a song?) was not. It had epic ice crystals in it and was so tart we couldn't even eat it. read more

My brother-in-law (BIL) mentioned this place when we first moved here. He said it was one of those places that needed reservations. We came here for our anniversary and I kind of wish we hadn't. First off, service was meh. The whole vibe of the place made it seem like they didn't want us there. The food was okay, not blow-you-away. And it came out really fast, like too fast. My husband got the burger and I got the hangar steak. The steak was dry and kinda tough to eat. My husband said his burger was not impressive. And it was not cheap either. This is probably more of a brunch place than a dinner place. I usually try not to say harsh things about the places I eat at. But so far, these places have been falling pretty flat for me. Or maybe I'm turning in a Karen, I don't know. I won't be returning to Stone Park Cafe, but if you like it and want to keep going, by all means. read more

Went for dinner the other night with two other couples. It was our first time. Lovely little place with a very nice menu and very good service. Drinks were terrific and food was really really good. A few of us did the price frix menu and others did à la carte. We all really enjoyed our dinners . My hubby enjoyed his dessert but a few of us ordered an affogato that was not on menu. That I would not recommend nor order again as it was really bad. But def will go back for dinner again. read more

We went to Stone Park Cafe last night. My friend is dog sitting for her brother and we had to take the dog with us so we were able to get a table in the little hut around the corner from the entrance. The servers were extremely kind in bringing out a bowl with water for our dog. My friend ordered the shrimp tagliatelle. I ordered the pre fixed menu for restaurant week which included the shrimp toast, seafood risotto, and Panna cotta. Everything was delicious. We also ordered the raspberry Pina colada for drinks. Stone Park Cafe is a very solid brunch spot! We went right at opening and were seated without a wait. Our hostess was nice and friendly and the restaurant filled up over time as we were dining. It was definitely a good atmosphere! Overall the menu had a lot of brunch classics - there were a good number of vegetarian options as well but mostly pork for meat options! I got the quiche with fries and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. I definitely enjoyed my meal but wasn't the biggest fan of the biscuit - but that could be due to my own personal preference. I'd definitely recommend getting a reservation if possible, as it was pretty busy. The service was exceptional from the host to our server, both made an effort to make sure we were happy & were incredibly attentive. The food was absolutely incredible! I've had countless brunches all over and they usually ranged from average and good to delicious and outstanding. Stone Park Cafe, a first time visit, fell in the outstanding and memorable category. This restaurant has been around for so long and I always wanted to visit, but somehow never did. I had the opportunity to do that today. Located right off 5th Avenue and 3rd Street in Park Slope, the restaurant's dining configuration offered outside seating with no makeshift wall or shield from the cold. It was sunny, I was super bundled up and so we decided to check them out. Guess what---it was well worth it (and I did not eat my meal shivering). The staff was friendly and service was very attentive. Menu was viewable via a QR code. All the brunch items looked delicious. Since we sat outdoors and it is winter, we started off with the hot Maple Cider drink. At $14, it was Bourbon, apple cider syrup and dry cider garnished with cinnamon stick and star anise. Very, very good and unlike anything I've tasted as far as a hot drink. Recommend. Main entree was Fish Cakes served with poached eggs, celery slaw, side of potatoes and sourdough bread. This dish was excellent. The fish cakes were mini sized, made with codfish and pan seared. Lying on top were two poached eggs. The combination of egg and fish cake was indescribably delicious. There was more to the dish which was presented so attractively. The potatoes were cubed and crispy and the portion was generous. A small side of celery slaw was the perfect accompaniment. Finally, two slices of toasted sourdough bread was included---great for sopping up the yolk of the eggs. The entire meal had not one misstep, cooked to perfection and very filling. At $16, a wonderful value. I haven't had such a delicious brunch in quite a while and would highly recommend visiting Stone Park Cafe. I am eager to return again for brunch as well as dinner. I had an amazing brunch here on Labor Day weekend!! We just happened to walk by it and decided to try it out. We had the short rib hash with eggs fried over medium; the pancakes, burger with breakfast potatoes instead of French fries; eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese. Everything was hot and it all tasted spectacular. They had a fancy hot sauce there that I drizzled over the potatoes. Even the scrambled eggs were the best eggs I have had before!! Solid, dependable and quite enjoyable! With spacious tables peppered outdoors at their corner location, we loved eating at this local neighborhood spot. Had brunch on Sunday morning and presented within the first half hour of opening - waiting very little time for being seated. Their menu is expansive and offer a range of savory options from staples like Eggs benedict to the legit house smoked salmon omelette mixed with delicious cream cheese, onion and salmon. We ordered a few items including the mac 'n cheese (perfect texture, served in a cast-iron skillet with al dente maccaroni), the salmon omelette complemented with a side biscuit and home fried potatos, and the house quesadilla (served with eggs, jack cheese, queso fresco, and pickled jalapeno). Our meal was filling, fair priced, and well served in an enjoyable setting especially in the outdoor summer months - seeing the park right across the street. We stumbled upon Stone Park Cafe when we wanted to go somewhere (not too far) for brunch! We made a last minute reservation which granted us a table without much wait time. It was just so perfect since it was a rainy afternoon and the restaurant was not TOO busy. The husband got the veggie omelet and I ordered the Chosen Omelet! Both were very good. This was always my special occasion, Restaurant, but I'm afraid that it lost some of its appeal. In the past, I've always been wowed by the flavor of the food and the presentation. . I brought my cousin here who flew in from Chicago and wanted her to have something special. Food was very bland this time. The freshness and the quality is there but not the flavor. I had the chicken breast with Tagliatelle and a mushroom broth. We also had shared a tomato bisque soup - also bland and two sides cream of spinach and fried onion rings. The cream of spinach was a little watery and the onion rings which were supposed to have been done in a tempura batter was just OK. Dessert was also just OK. We had the peach upside down cake, which had a semolina very grainy cake. Beautifully plated but the cake itself not great. Service was outstanding- our waiter offered to split all our dishes for us, which was quite lovely, especially for the soup and overall he was just very attentive and incredibly good. read more

I'm normally never a "I'll have the burger" or "I'll have the chicken please" kind of girl, but at the Stone Park Cafe, they do both with perfection! They also have more sophisticated offerings on the menu, like branzino or tuna tataki, and those are equally divine. The entire staff works hard to ensure diners have the best experience. From the hostess with the mostest Judy, who took great care of us from beginning to end, to the amazing servers who worked seamlessly together, our meal could not have been any more perfect. On top of it, they served up some locally sourced Salamander hot sauce that was so tasty & spicy, we bought 3 bottles! The pork belly appetizer (daily special) was perfectly crispy, in a delicious glaze, and with a side of spicy cold noodles. The first time I was at this restaurant was a baby shower celebration. The food was delicious at the shower so I returned. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining. Came here on a Saturday evening without a reservation. We were seated quickly indoors while others wanted to wait for outdoor seating. Tables were well spread out inside. To kick off the review of Stone Park Cafe, let's start with the good. I purchased the Steak and Eggs & the steak was cooked pretty well. The portions were pretty big. I subbed out the potatoes for fries (classy I know) for a steak frites type of deal. This is when things take a turn toward mediocrity. The fries were quite underwhelming - something I believe is quite hard to achieve. They were coated in a crispy cover yet were surprisingly soggy. Beyond this, I ordered my eggs over easy. They came out almost completely cooked through, lacking any seasoning at all. The steak was somewhat under seasoned, yet, had quite a nice flavor. The whole aesthetic was a bit tacky in my opinion, the water glasses were tall and bulky, the plates were unnecessarily huge, and the walls were quite barren, with a failed farm to table-decor type of vibe. All in all, I don't quite understand the high reviews of this place. The portions were nice and the food and service okay, probably wouldn't come back. read more

Tall, bald and older waiter, they said his name is TIM! If that's true. Because he ( Tim) refused to give me his name!! Of course!! I came here alone with my small dog on Sunday Easter 3/31 around 1:30 PM. I asked for a table outside. I asked the manger, Judy if it was okay to use the ladies room before I was seated and she said yes. I was carrying my dog, so it wasn't like I was walking through the restaurant! Also, I had to take her in with me because I couldn't leave her outside and unsupervised. When I got to the restroom, "TIM" said dogs are not allowed in here! Just like that! In a very rude and condescending voice. I said I'm only here to use the restroom, I have a table outside. Then he repeated himself and said, if it's not a service dog they can get in trouble. He shook his head and rolled his eyes!! What bothered me most was his attitude. His very rude behavior and approach. He could have approached me in a different way, he didn't have to be so disrespectful and ignorant. I complained to the manager, she apologized and said she was going to talk to him about it because that was not true! She asked me to ignore him.. by then I was already so turned off that I decided to leave and go somewhere else. This was my first time at this cafe. I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to having brunch here on a Sunday and after a very long week.. Sadly not coming back and definitely not recommending it to anyone. read more
