Justice was fantastic. Coming in from Florida on my way to New Hampshire is stressful enough on top of dealing with a flat tire. I gave them a called to see if they had a replacement tire for me, which they did not. But offered to see if they could patch it up for me. Unfortunately, the tire was not able to be patched up and since they did not have a tire in stock that would fit perfectly on my van, They went above and beyond finding another alternative tire that fits just as perfect so I can get right back on the road. The worst customer service in a millennium. The salesman at the counter Mike hasn't got a clue. I went in for a flat. They told me I needed a new tire and it would be in by 12:30/1 PM, and they would call me. I decided to do both front tires. They kept the flat to supposedly get it started while I drove back to Mavis. I gave them a $50 deposit. 1 PM came and went. I called twice and they said it wasn't in yet. 2nd call at 2:15 PM. Spoke with Mike. He said he would call me back in one minute. Never did. It's 3PM. No call. I drove back to Mavis. Mike said he didn't know anything about my tire and had no memory of my call to him. It was literally 20 minutes before. He is the only Mike there. He then checked and said the tires were here. They weren't. The manager rolled the tires in the front door while I was waiting. Manager told Mike when he left to call me and let him know the tires were coming. Mike had no clue. Didn't call. In the end, they ordered the wrong tires. No white walls. The truck has whitewalls. We are extremely grateful for the service team at this location. We have been here a couple times in the past with no issues, but today was a reflection of great customer service, helpfulness, and kindness. We are leaving for vacation today! I was up at 6am to get coffee and I blew my tire on my fully packed SUV. My husband and I had to unload the entire SUV, then put the spare on and load back up. We came in right when they opened and the manager was amazing. We needed new tires so we decided to replace all 4 tires and opened a card for a nice rebate. They were done with my SUV quickly and we were able to stay on schedule with leaving at 10:30am with 4 brand new tires and an alignment. Got a flat and called around for pricing. Based on price and proximity, i showed up to have their recommended tires installed. When i got there the sales representative said he would never put those tires on a car...too slippery, dont grip road. Well.. why was i quoted the tire in the first place? Well.. call center, yadda yadda. Of course his recommended tire was $15/tire more. I had to go and had no desire for a fight and risk them doing a bad job on my car over $30. This place (Basking Ridge, NJ) is a nightmare. I ordered tires 4 days in advance but they never called or emailed saying they arrived. Then I drop off my car for the appointment and the receptionist (young black woman) takes the car key. So I called my wife to pick me up. After 5min, the receptionist calls me and tells me the technician called out (there is only 1 !) and I have to come back. So I took time off and they don't even have the courtesy to call me before to reschedule. The receptionist just tells me I have to come back. No apology of any kind ! So unprofessional, I placed an order for a tire online and made an appointment for it to be installed. Upon my arrival a very frazzled employee proceeded to tell me that there was no tire and if their had been I would have to leave it. The excuse given "can't make people come to work" well I guess you can't but man how is that my fault. Then he proceeds to tell me that they don't really pay attention to online orders and then to add insult to injury I get an email saying I missed my appointment. I wasn't going to post a negative review until I got that email. So Mavis Tire you are a poor excuse for a business. Basking Ridge store is a Complete Scammer! Thanks to the police for help. Ordered tires through Mavis Corporate call center with the offered price of $588 including installation, valves and balance, they also stated Mavis including tire rotation every 5000 miles. I paid upfront the $25 deposit. Dropped the car off at the store in the morning, they kept calling throughout the day trying to get me to do realignment, replace batteries, wipers and a bunch of repairs etc and I respectfully declined. Went to the store to pick up my car in the afternoon, the store jacked up the price and asked me to pay $787 stating installation, valves, balance and rotation are not included and I have to pay extra, and rotation has to be through extended warranty with additional cost. I made it clear that the call center confirmed all those items will be included in the original $588 and I will pay what has been agreed. They responded that the call center only sells tires and will never include installation/ balance/ volves. They then threatened me 'if you dont pay $787, we will not give you back the car!". I had to call the police, while the police talking to them, I got hold of their corporate office who confirmed what we agreed. The store changed the price right when the police came. Thanks to the police that they sneakily adjusted the price. However, they still never deducted my deposit. Make sure you do NOT go to this store. Not all Mavis store is bad but I will never go to the Basking Ridge one. I filed a complaint to their corporate office now. read more

I was told I could bring my car in and wait 30 minutes for a nail to be taken out of a tire. When I got there, the man behind the counter told me I would have to leave it until the next day. I told him that was not what the man said on the phone. He said ok and I waited an hour for them to come out and tell me they couldn't patch the tire. The manager acted like he did me a big favor looking at the car after letting me know he put me in ahead of two cars. He should have looked at it in the parking lot, which would have taken him 2 seconds to let let me know it wasn't possible to patch it. Very poor service and no one is on the same page. The manager was nasty and I will never be going back there again. Hopefully, this comment convinces others to go elsewhere. read more

Worst Experience ever I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!! I called for service on Saturday for Sunday I needed Breaks and Rotors changed I have a Chevy Silverado pick up and have drums in the back and had to change only the front ones , I show up on Sunday for my appointment was there at 9 am the Employee by name Wes informed me that the Mechanic is not there yet I told him I will wait and hours go by still no Mechanic and then 2 and half hours later Wes comes to me and telling me that I don't think the Mechanic will show up today he is not answering his phone hm very responsible any way I decided to leave my truck there since I couldn't drive my truck since my brakes were grinding so showing up at the front door on Monday and ready on my work gear thinking that stuff will get done fast since I all ready wasted 2 and half hours the day before and thinking shit will get serious . I walk in the store Manager Rishad welcomes me and asking me why am I there I told him the story what happened Sunday and he apologized and said he will take care of it , and I got happy that at least my truck will get done and at least I can get half day off work and not loose the whole day , I WAS WRONG!! It took them 7 and half hours yes from 8am till 3:30 pm including the 2and half hours from Sunday I wasted 10 hours for Front Breaks and Rotors , I got a quote for 400$ plus tax I ended up paying 634,75$ because the brake caliber bracket was rusted and had to replace so there was 4 employees working on my truck my truck is dirty there is hand and finger prints all over my tires look like they were dipped in oil but the most funny part is that after all this the store manager takes the truck for a test drive and he comes back and said to me I think they good!! I was like what do you mean you think thinking in my mind wtf i waited all this time and you are not sure if the breaks are good like wtf , I took my truck exhausted from waiting and still scared to drive it and driving slow thinking and waiting for something to happen because Mavis in Basking Ridge doesn't know if they fixed my breaks right . They took a look and fixed the issue. No charge. Thank you. The last 2 for an oil change and a couple new tires. They priced matched an online Wal-Mart price. Service was fast and good. Rick at the front desk was very nice and no pressure to up sell. I've been using Firestone in Berkeley Heights for the past several years. His car's brakes had serious issues and we were recommended to go there since we needed immediate help. Upon entering the premises, I sat down while my fiancée went to speak to the person at the front. The man he spoke to at the front desk acted completely pompous and seemed more interested in passing him off to someone else than speaking with him. I nicer man (I believe his name was Bruno) went outside to check the car and noticed a leak in the brake line. Three men, including Bruno and Mr. Pompous, were talking to him about how bad the brakes actually were. When my fiancée asked for a ballpark figure, none of them wanted to give him any figure at all. I finally went up to them and asked for a "worst case scenario" price, to which they said would be "about $250, maybe $300". They said all of their lifts were being used and that we were welcome to wait, or leave the car overnight. We waited for a while, but decided eventually to leave it overnight. The next day upon speaking to one of the mechanics on the phone, they informed my fiancée it would be $980. They proceeded to list multiple issues with the car and that the labor would be the most expensive, as it would take five hours. My fiancée told him that it was more than the car was worth and that he wanted to know exactly what the issues were again so he can get a second opinion. With that, the mechanic told him that the car needs to be removed from the premises immediately. Both of us were at work, and my fiancée told him the earliest it could be removed was after 4pm. The mechanic replied that someone needed to move it "NOW". I called Mavis to tell them that it was ridiculous that the car had to be moved right away considering we were both at work. The person I spoke to stated that it was fine to be left there overnight until we could arrange the vehicle to be towed. He also stated that the labor would be $117 per hour. When I told him that the sign outside the shop stated the labor was around $85 per hour, he told me the prices have been updated since then. I arranged AAA to have the car towed to another company recommended to me by someone else. Sure, the ride was further, but the mechanic there received the car and fixed the issue for a total of $370. Three. Hundred. Seventy. Dollars..... from $980 at Mavis. In short, the car drives like a dream.... no thanks to Mavis. To sum it up, Mavis is full of crooks just waiting to hit you right in your pockets, and I will never go there again. read more

I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the service I've received from Mavis. I've been a regular customer for several years and they've always been very helpful. However, the experience I just had with them over the past few days has been exceptional. I needed my car worked on - at the very least, I needed my brakes and tires checked. I scheduled an appointment on Friday and decided to take my car to the Honda dealer (Clinton Honda) for additional service that day. That was a MAJOR mistake! The dealership started playing games and tried to charge me a LOT more. They (the dealership) also said I needed a new struts, as well as brakes, in addition to regular maintenance stuff. After I finally got the estimate from the dealership, I told them absolutely not and that I'd have Mavis do all of the work. As a result, my costs for brakes and struts were LESS THAN HALF of what the dealership tried to charge! Been here a few times for oil change, battery change, and new struts on my car. Due to the location, I think this place actually marks up most of the services, oil changes by my house are typically less than $35 bucks The people and service is great, I think the business just likes to over charge the customers. Battery change standard around $100, got one done for another car is about the same. Oil change $35. Struts - slightly higher price but I got 4 new struts, one blew out after a few months of usage. Thank god there is a life time warranty so they gave me a replacement part for free and charged me less for the labor. I come to this location because its close to my job, it is only okay. The man at the desk told me it would be done before noon. I just picked it up at 4:30 and they didn't touch it. They had 'a crazy day' and they did nothing on my car. It's a company car. So that means I use it for work. Not today. Lost a day because they had it all day. And did nothing. They were unapologetic and asked me when I wanted to come back!? What!?
