This is our hometown favorite. Moved back from Philly and this has been an oasis. Great pub food - really like the martinis particularly like the pear and elderflower. Live local music every weekend. Went for a late lunch with my wife, kids and one of their friends and we were very satisfied. Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday as the kids played with the giant Jenna set. The atmosphere of the place was what we liked best about Stoner's Grille. We were there twice. The first time our waiter was very friendly but were served the wrong taco. The corn & crab chowder was very good. We returned a second time & brought a friend, but we will not be going back. As several other reviews mentioned, they do not serve food according to how it is described on the menu. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich, which was more bun & fried onions than pulled pork, and it came with chips & a pickle rather than the cole slaw that was listed on the menu. I order a Pittsburgh steak salad with the steak tips medium rare. The salad came w/ wilted lettuce, 4 grape tomatoes and gray steak tips that were rubbery & looked as if they were boiled in water rather than grilled. The menu stated the salad has fries but instead it came with greasy little onion rings that look like the left over bits from what was piled on my husband's sandwich. Fortunately, our friend enjoyed his flatbread pizza. Our advice...please serve food as it is described on your menu!!! read more

We had our daughter's wedding and reception here. Would not recommend it. They will promise you everything you ask but they have very little follow through. Bathroom and floors were dirty, the groom's hanger had supplies from previous events sitting all over the high top tables, no air condition in the grooms hanger, buckets of golf balls were not supplied as promised, upon arrival to set up for the reception it was not ready-tablecloths were dirty-had to ask them to set the room as requested on the contract-chairs were dirty and they asked us to remove them, up to an hour prior to the wedding we repeatedly asked for boxes of misc. sound and light items to be removed from loft area and clean table cloths finally tasked the wedding coordinator to get it done but never had tablecloths on those tables through the entire reception. Guests complimented on the food however the 2 meals purchased for the wedding each meal was missing at least one item on the contract and there was not enough of the main course at one of the meals. Room is way too small for the number of guests they allow. Complaint email was sent to both the event manager and the owner but no response was received back. read more

We went here thinking, 'let's give it one more shot. It's a nice night, we can reserve a table outside, and listen to the music listed on their website." Big disappointment. The website says music starts at 7:30, with a cover charge after 8:30. Our reservation was at 7, and when we arrived they said their new policy is to charge a $5 cover per person for the music. We thought that was a bit obnoxious when we are paying for dinner and they didn't mention it when we made the reservation, but we paid it so we could get our table. (stamped our hands to verify we paid) She then took us to an indoor table. I mentioned that we reserved outside and she said she was overbooked. I asked if there was anything they could do since we specifically came here to be outside, and she miraculously found a table outside. It was then 15 minutes before we had a stressed out server at our table. They were clearly understaffed. The menu is very average, we ordered the Rocko fish tacos. Some people like them, I've had better at Iron Hill and Mad Chef. These were heavy and greasy. Drinks were weak. The music they charged a cover for never started until 8:20, by then we were finished and annoyed. We asked our waiter to comp us for the cover charge, which he did. Our server was kind, there just clearly isn't enough staff. Won't be back. I have NEVER left a bad review before, but this experience was enough to make me take the time to leave one. read more

The food ok, nothing special. The food was over priced for the quality. The kitchen was slow for ordering 2 cold sandwiches. But the service is terrible. Ran out of water a couple of times, it was hot that day, no ketchup for fries even after asking, so we had to go get one from an empty table. I noticed another table doing the same. It was also not busy, they had 3 waiters for 5 tables. Speaking of tables they were way too close together, and there was lots of open space next to the tables they could have easily given more space between them. read more

Here for a graduation celebration with a reservation. Charged a "cover charge" because there was a band and then charged for a sandwich which was "forgotten" and served 2hrs after everyone else at the table. Will not come back because times before have all been very slow service and this was a "let's give it one more try" situation. read more

Very pleasant experience. Despite a full crowd and a number of large groups, I was pleased by the attention and service. Also good gastropub menu for a range of prices. Decent drink menu but needs to move beyond the '19th hole' options. Especially enjoyed the owners, and managers stopping by and remembering names and occupations. We made a reservation for 6:00, and when we got there they had no record of our reservation. Strike 1. So they proceeded to seat us at a high top table and when we asked to sit at a regular table we were told that they were reserved. Strike 2. Then we sat for 10 minutes waiting for our waitress to take our drink order. Strike 3, she never came and we walked out. Went to Ruby Tuesday nearby and were greeted at the door by the manager and our waitress arrived right away to take our order. That's how a restaurant should be run! read more

I got the fish taco and the shrimp taco which was ok but did not have the seasonings of what you expect in a taco. My husband had the flat bread which was really good. We were seated next to the door for the kitchen so there was a lot of traffic. The servers were great and other servers would remove plates any time they saw something was empty. Not dog friendly! Called ahead and was told yes we are dog friendly, but was not told it would be self serve. You will not have a server, have to go place your order and then pick up your own food thru the mini golf window. Cannot give any review in regards to food because we did not stay. We went on a Saturday afternoon, just after opening for lunch and we were told we had to wait to be seated even though there were tons of open tables. The hostess was rude, did not apologize or explain the wait and we waited about 20 minutes for what seemed to be no reason. After being seated, no one came to greet us or take a drink order for 15 more minutes. People who sat down after us were waited on before us. It was irritating to say the least. Once a server actually did come over, I asked a question about the menu (online) and the reply was curt and sharp, that the menu online isn't accurate. Then was told that there was an event in another part of the building so no special accommodations could be made for us food wise. I was appalled at the response. So rude!!!!! From there the food was okay, but there is something definitely wrong with the service. Won't be going back. read more

Food was pretty good except nachos being forgot. Don't go if it's really busy. They need runners for food since the waitresses are put at a table inside and then more outside. Cook came out and said I have a lot of food sitting waiting to go out. Well if you had a runner the waitresses would be able to control their tables and know what is going on. read more

Stoner used to be one of my favorite places to visit. They have remodeled the outdoor patio and it's beautiful. Unfortunately, my experience last evening left me feeling disappointed. As of this week, they have begun using a new menu, and it is GREATLY reduced in food offerings.....like half the number of previous options. On top of that, they have eliminated many of my favorite items! . Service has declined since last summer also....7/10 vs 10/10. What a shame....the food here is/was really good, the place had a nice atmosphere and was a relaxing outing. Due to the menu change, it is no longer on my 'top spot' list. Perhaps they're trying to have more of a 'bar feel'? Don't know. read more

had dinner last night with a party of 11,,took the waitress 15 minutes before she took our 1st drink order, then another 15minutes to get them to us, she never returned to see if we needed a 2nd order, so one of our friends took our drink order to the bar herself,,,finally we placed our food order with our MIA waitress,,which took 45+minutes to arrive at our table, waitress still was MIA..food was pretty good,,busy night for Stoner Grille, but management should have more of a service staff on board,,,beautiful setting,, might or might not return due to the slow service... read more

Dined at Stoner Grille Saturday evening with a party of 12. Making the reservation for the group was a "no hassle" event, which is not the case at some restaurants. All of our group commented that the food was very good. I had shrimp scampi which also was very good. Was able to sub a baked potatoe for the normal rice. Spouse had a sandwich and the Ceasar salad which she shared. I thought it was fine but the spouse thought the dressing was a bit tangy for her taste. Our server was great although the service was a bit slow. We understand the wait staff was short handed that evening. One of our group wanted to order off the kid's lunch menu. That didn't work out, as would be expected. She had soup instead. All in all was a very fine evening and we'd certainly return. read more

We have been going to the Stoner Grille since it opened. The first time we sat inside since the weather was not good for outside. Since then we have been making reservations to sit on the patio with friends and just as a couple. What a wonderful enviornment. The location allows for outdoor dining and conversation without looking at parking lots, fences, buildings, and busy main streets like Oregon Pike and such. This is now our favorite place to go on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. The menu items are varied and we believe meet everyones desires. In fact just this friday the owner and wife visited the patio to meet and greet the diners. What a pleasure to meet the owners. Give it a try, we think you will join our opinion. read more

I've been watching the transformation of the old Barney's grill into the new Stoner grill, and I have been very impressed. Gene and Ann did a wonderful job bringing this place back to life. Being dog friendly, the staff is always eager to give Pepper a treat. I saw they offered crab cakes, so I ordered them. I have not had a crab cake that good in years!! My wife ordered the fish tacos, and being gluten free, asked if there was a gluten free version. Frank the chef came out and gave her two options, of which she chose the nacho chips, and that also was excellent. We have a new jewel here in township that you need to discover! read more

We will never go here again. We had been there several times before and it was ok but made the mistake of trying to use a groupon coupon. The waitress pretty much ignored us from that point on and ultimately would not take the groupon since it was expired by a week. We explained that the policy is we should always receive what we paid for it. Ultimately she sent the manager to tell us they would not accept it. We split a sandwich and had two bowls of soup. They charged an extra three dollars for splitting the sandwich. read more

Was there for lunch...menu had just enough variety to satisfy. Overall the place seemed clean and well maintained. The service was excellent with Andy and Shelly. The food came out hot and fast and was tasty. Full bar with like 23 beers on tap. Nice place seems a little tight but some would call that cozy. If there was any negatives it might be that the prices seem on the high side but within reason. We will certainly go again read more

I came here Saturday night for dinner and upon arrival I noticed they renovated the outside since being here last and it was done really well. We started with beers and I ordered the Shrimp tacos and my dining partner ordered a steak salad. When the tacos were placed in front of me, I noticed the abundance of grease and lack of ingredients. The menu says "Shrimp with Stoners amazing Cajun seasoning/tomato/salsa verde/queso fresco/red onion" and there was no queso fresco or red onion and to my surprise the salsa had fruit in it. Being allergic to certain fruits I sent them back, not wanting to risk a reaction. Your menu should say "fruit salsa" instead of "salsa verde" or if you ran out of ingredients, patrons should be informed. After paying, the server had the audacity to come over and ask why we left a low tip. This place has the potential to be a great neighborhood spot but safe to say, I will not be returning any time soon. read more

The fish tacos come in a soggy shell covered in what I think was cheese. It was disgusting. I'm not sure why they can't just serve fresh grilled fish in a tortilla. Apart from that we couldn't find the fish inside the mess of the taco. They had your decent IPA draft beers on tap which was good. We had a group of 5 and 3 of us ordered the same salad. It was terrible. We told the waitress, but she simply ignored our complaint...she just said, "the veggies are delicious". NO, they were not. High price for such a lousy lunch. Will not go there again and will not refer this place!! read more

Had a great experience last night. Love the new renovations and the Music Trivia night was so much fun. I have been here a few other times and was very disappointed in the food and the time it takes to come out but this trip was excellent. Glad we gave it another try. We did warn our waitress that we had a few bad experiences and learned it was her first night working there and she was an excellent server and was very attentive and stayed on top of making sure our drinks were never empty. I had the salmon, rice and grilled veggies. Very tasty. My friends got the taco's and the grilled Caesar salad. I'm so going to get them on my next visit. I was there last Friday as well and the Chocolate Martini made by Loretta was the bomb. I had the crab flat bread and that was very good but on the weekends make sure you don't order any thing other then appetizers or sandwiches or you will be waiting over an hour for a meal. I even heard the bartenders telling customers that so they weren't disappointed in the wait. My only complaint would be that the kitchen staff always seems to be understaffed and we had a reservation and the hostess seems to need more training. She went out to see about a table 3 different times and it wasn't even busy. She seemed lost. Maybe she was new but the owners shouldn't leave new employees to fend for them selves. It leaves a bad impression to the customers. But I plan on going back and hope to have great experiences as I did last night! read more

The good points , great outdoor atmosphere, great place to see live music, happy hours are probably one of the best we found around., food is really good if you get what you ordered. A few weeks ago we ordered two apps to start one was the pork and fries the other was jerk chicken nachos., the nachos came out with no chicken wrong sauce, we told the owner he said he was going to make it right, so a waiter showed up with jerk chicken and dropped it on top of the nachos. Don't think that is how it should of been made right. The servers are young with little to know experience, they try hard from what I could tell but they are way overwhelmed with the amount of tables they have to wait on and with the kitchen messing up it makes them even more frustrated, I watch the owners mangers be more concerned about the live music and sitting and talking to their friends rather then being concerned about the lack of customers getting good service. I would love to give this place a five star but they need so much in the service department read more

My husband & two kids (4 & 7) had dinner here tonight and our experience was so good I was compelled to write a review. First, the kids portions were very generous and the server was so good about keeping their milks refilled. (Even asked quietly asked if our daughter was allowed to have more chocolate milk. Very considerate!) I ordered the crab cake & filet mignon. I love MD blue crab and the crab cake was chocked full of crab & did not disappoint! When my husband's Rocko tacos came out, while my meal was good, I immediately had order envy as his soft tortilla had perfectly crusted cheese on the exterior. Living in San Diego, we've tried many varieties of fish tacos (like every Taco Tuesday, lol) and these rate at the top. The owners were very friendly & introduced themselves as we were leaving. We learned they only opened in Sept & we were very excited to hear their future plans include occasional kid concerts as well as kid-friendly outdoor space (sand-fun, water trough, etc). Love finding a restaurant with solid food that not just tolerates kids, but welcomes them. We will be back. read more

Decided after last night's visit to write my first Yelp review. We've tried Stoner Grille 3 times now and have been less and less impressed with the food each time. I wasn't starving so I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla with sour cream and salsa on the side. Arrived with no sour cream or salsa, and the quesadilla was covered with burnt cheese. So strange. They had to know it was like that when they put it out, but I just can't understand why! I saw a fish taco go by on a tray that was covered with burnt cheese also! My husband ordered the southwest blackened chicken salad. The chicken was rubbery and clearly not freshly grilled. It was also not blackened at all. Iceberg lettuce and some corn and tomatoes thrown in made it very mediocre. No bread and a runny italian dressing. McDonald's southwest salad is much better. The patio area is lovely and i wish I could say we'll go back, but the food isn't worth it. read more

Very poor customer service. Worst hostess and manager I have ever encountered. We were excited to try this place and made a reservation for 8 to celebrate with our friends. The food was good, drinks were good, didn't mind waiting for apps and food since they were busy because the atmosphere was nice. Waiter was good until we finished our dinner and we asked him about the band playing. He said "I don't know that you can stay that long we have other reservations" We then decided to Order desert and coffee for 8. I no sooner finished my last sip (we were not offered refills of the coffee) and got our bill(over $250) when the RUDEST HOSTESS I ever encountered came over and asked if we were leaving because her other party "has been waiting a long time". We had nothing to do with how long the kitchen took. We were not lingering, we were only there 2 hours, under the "allotted 2 1/2 hours" she told us they reserve a table for. I have never had this happen before. I at this point told her we would not come back and asked to speak with the manager. My husband and I tried to tell him what happened and she denied it trying to talk over me. At this point he put his hand up to motion her to be quiet. He offered us a drink at the bar, but with teenagers along that was not appropriate. Nothing on the bill was compensated. He said come back and we will buy you a drink. NO THANKS. Can't wait to tell everyone I know in Township and Lancaster not to go there. read more
