    Small Chicken Parm Sub ($10.95)
    Lorel H.

We decided that we wanted to try a new sports bar, so we came here on a Thursday night around 6:30. It was packed but we got seated pretty quickly. Our server got to us almost as soon as we sat down and was very attentive the whole time despite it being super busy. I ordered a Trash Can ($12) while Ryan ordered a Yuengling ($4). I've never had a trash can where they filled the cup up with alcohol and served the Red Bull on the side, they for sure gave you your moneys worth and it was really good. For dinner I ordered the Stubboli ($10.95), which is the smaller version of their Stromboli, and Ryan ordered a small Chicken Parm Sub ($10.95). The Stromboli was very good, it had ham, salami, a ton of cheese, and mustard which always makes a Stromboli better. The Chicken Parm sub was one of the best we've had in our area! The bread actually held up and didn't get soggy from the sauce and they loaded it with chicken. It could have used a little bit more sauce but that was remedied by dipping it in my side marinara from my Stromboli. Overall, the prices here are great and you definitely get your moneys worth. It's a great place to watch any sports game that's playing they've got TV's lining the walls playing them all. We will for sure be back!!

Unfortunately, I have to give them 1 start at this point. I have dined-in multiple times and always pretty good with attentive staff and tasty food, at the Olde Hickfory location. However, back to back terrible take-out experiences are leading to this review at this location, and lack of accountability. Both times I have ordered the same items for takeout, both times, terrible food. I ordered the 20 dollar extra large North Side Steak and Cheese with NO Steak Sauce (not sure why marinara would go on a sub anyway). First time I got home opened it up and the sub was to wet that you couldn't pick it up, and it fell apart the steak was overcooked and sub wasn't toasted, on top of it having sauce on it I asked not to be on it. Tonight, I though I would give another chance.... See pictures, instead of no steak sauce, they added steak sauce, half filled the sub, and didn't include the onions. I even checked it at the restaurant, and told them the issue about the steak sauce, let them know this happened last time... if I wanted to wait 15 minutes with my kids in the car, they would re-make it. I said I didn't have time and told them this is the second time this has occurred and I didn't want to pay for it, they ran my card already, and said they would have a manager call. Why couldn't the manager talk to me at the time... Other item I ordered Cheese pizza with mushrooms, well done. See pictures.. half the pizza has mushrooms, not well done, and looks like they probably just threw the mushrooms on top after cooking a regular pizza (not well done). Since I hadn't received a call from a manager I called them, got put on hold, and then hung up after 3 minutes of waiting. No call back. With such good in restaurant food and service, I would not go back for either take out or in house dining because of this. $65 each for a pizza with mushrooms, salad, chicken fingers and half an extra large sub made incorrectly. Would welcome a call back from the manager, you guys took my number.

This was not a problem for the restaurant, as they put us in a back room and strung together a number of tables for us. The decor is a little dated, but it's very clean. Everything about this restaurant reminded me of the old YOUR HOST restaurants which all closed in the 1970s. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress named Leola. We found her to be extremely kind, competent, and service oriented. She managed to wait on our entire table, and her attention to detail was flawless. The menu is a multi page affair, as is typical with Greek restaurants. I ordered a grilled Reuben with french fries, and a little cup of very delicious coleslaw. I was completely satisfied with this dinner. Found that it was extremely well priced. Others at our table started with a bowl of soup. Everyone enjoyed the soup course. Juicy burgers were served on soft brioche buns. Pot roast and mashed potatoes dinners were so beautifully plated, diner style. This is a very economical restaurant with a nice menu. There's something for everyone!

Thankfully Mad Chef was open later than most places so we got in before the kitchen closed. I enjoyed the low lighting with the brewery equipment shining in the background. Having the Phillies game on the tv's only added to our experience. Our drinks and food were excellent. I always like to enjoy a local craft beer, having it paired on site with fabulous eats is even better. I ordered Mr Dynamite Brown, their American brown ale which was fabulous. We ordered a small Pommes Frites (French fries) that were cooked in Canola oil. While light in color, these fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted just right. My wife ordered the pretzel and said it was her type, buttery, salty, and doughy. I ordered the Korean Pork Nachos, by far the best nachos I've ever had the pleasure to devour. I can't begin to describe how well the roasted corn poblano medley brought this plate together. Every bite had an explosion of flavor with the Korean glaze and Gochujang aioli. This dish blows Guy Fieri's trash can Brisket nachos out of the water. If ever in Lancaster don't pass up on the Mad Chef Craft Brewing gem.

Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
