This grocery store is just the right size for a quick trip for groceries. The staff are always friendly and willing to help with anything. Very nice meats available and at a decent price. The deli is also wonderful with just the right variety of foods. They even have a little post office in the building so you can drop off mail or packages right there as you pick up some food for dinner. Delicious donuts, Stone Ridge cheeses, and so much more are available. If you need to get a few things and don't want to hassle with the bigger grocery stores in the area, this is the place to go. read more

Went in the store around 7pm and the deli had pulled all the hot food already. Asked the clerk where they might have the left over chicken packaged for sale and there was none. He called me back and filled an 8 piece chicken and did not charge me full price. To me this was above and beyond awesome customer service.... read more

Nice, small neighborhood store. I think most Pigs are independent now. There was a decent selection in each area. I was looking for beer and root beer, and they didn't have much but did have a few local offerings. Good service. Prices seem high. But, I'd like to have something like this in my neighborhood for produce and baked goods, etc. read more

Very nice local grocery store. Even though a medium sized store, a good selection of food. Maybe Mark K didn't see it, but they have a wonderful selection of beer in a walk in freezer. Great employees, especially their bagger John, who took great care and offered to walk my groceries to my car! read more

History

Established in 1936.

In 1936, Larry Verhagen opened his own "Mom and Pop" store in Kaukauna. Larry opened Kaukauna's first "cash and carry" supermarket at the corner of Main and 3rd in 1947. That store was a huge success, which forced a move to new, larger quarters on Dodge Street in 1952. Within a year, Larry joined the Piggly Wiggly system to take advantage of group buying and advertising. In 1963 his son, Tom joined the business, and a second store was added in Little Chute. It was twice the size of the Dodge Street store. Due to Kaukauna's growing south side & customers now shopping by car; the Dodge Street store relocated to a larger building at 1900 Crooks Avenue in 1967. Both of those stores were later enlarged and moved to locations nearby that can best serve the customers. In 1997 the DePere store was built. All stores strive to present one stop shopping for their neighborhoods. In 2017-2018 all locations were sold to StoneRidge Markets.

He texted the same number for an explanation and got only another automated reply directing him to email. I emailed that address and received no response. I also called corporate headquarters three times during business hours and was sent to voicemail each time, with no return call. Mistakes happen, but the complete lack of communication, accountability, or even a basic apology is unacceptable. This was my son's first experience with the job application process, and he was simply ignored.
