The ambience in this restaurant is great! They have a big bar area, with comfy chairs and tables in their lounge. It's separated from the dining area. There's enough room for live music, which they had on Halloween. Low lighting throughout for an intimate feel. We were greeted and seated immediately, but we were a little disappointed in the lack of attendance at 8:30 PM. We had a couple of drinks and a couple of items off of the appetizer menu, and then ultimately decided to head to Johnson City to see what festivities were going on there. The appetizer pricing seemed a little high to me ($20 each plate) but the dishes tasted good. The croquettes are really rich and cheesy. I didn't get a lot of lamb flavor from the flautas, but they were good. They also had free chicken wings and chips & salsa for their Halloween event. The wings & salsa were excellent! If we had stayed another 20 minutes, we probably could've won the costume contest ($50 prize) because we were the only ones dressed up besides the staff, but we didn't want wait until 10PM. The baked brie is delicious! It tastes so good with the bread. We had the lemon garlic penne with chicken. The sauce is so delicious and you can distinctly taste the lemon and garlic. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The chicken Marsala was good. Being a mushroom fan, I would have loved more mushrooms in the sauce, but overall was tasty. The menu said penne pasta, but what arrived was a different pasta shape, rigatoni maybe, that actually worked better. The sauce filled the pasta, so every bite had plenty of flavor. The salmon was cooked nicely with a crisp exterior that added great texture to the dish. My husband ordered the shrimp po'boy, and unfortunately his experience wasn't as positive. The first sandwich had to be sent back because the shrimp were so overcooked they had the texture of chicharrones. The staff quickly remade it, but the second sandwich was only slightly better. Part of the issue seemed to be the size of the shrimp. They were quite small, which makes them much easier to overcook. Considering this is a seafood and steakhouse restaurant, we were surprised by the size and quality of the shrimp. That said, both our waiter and the manager were very kind and responsive when addressing the issue. We chose not to send the sandwich back a second time, and my husband simply didn't finish his meal. The iced tea was delicious. They prepare it tableside using something similar to a coffee press, which made it taste especially fresh. And the view? Excellent as always.

We learned the entire process beginning to end on how to make sourdough and the different folds and techniques to get the proper size crumb. We got to go home with our own jar of the families 244 year old sourdough starter named Petunia, and learned how to feed her and care for her. We got to bake a loaf there and learned why it's so important to wait 2 hours before cutting into it. I am desperately looking forward to more classes in the future, this was a great experience!
