We stopped in after a long walk and visiting the art museum. This is a good neighborhood brewery. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, and there was plenty of seating and a relaxed pace. Several regular customers came and went while we were there. The beer selection was IPA-centric plus a couple high alcohol content options and some very basic beers. The Imperial Octoberfest seemed a little flat. We ordered some Alaskan Dumplings from the food truck and they were excellent. read more

Awesome local treasure tucked away in MacArthur Park near downtown. It's not the most well-known brewery in Little Rock, but it's low-key vibe and gritty spirit have made it a neighborhood favorite. Come sit at the bar and you are guaranteed to have a good conversation with one of the bartenders, or sit on the patio and eat from one of the food trucks they have parked outside. read more

I hade the Cover Crop IPA, which is a Spring seasonal.(7% ABV 53 IBU) IPA that is not overly hoppy but still has some bite. My daughter and I split the bacon cheese burger and fries. Easy to find, with simple street parking around the building, do not use the lot behind the store! It doesnt really offer nice views of anything but the staff are nice and happy to be there. They do have 2 cider options and limited wine as well for those not into beer. I had the pear cider with guave, it was ok. I was hoping for more of a punch in flavor. The prices are fantastic though, and their snack menu is also great. The building itself is a bit small and chilly on cold days. They had tons of games in the bathroom, not sure if they were stored away for COVID? read more

A friend gave me a guided tour of the brewery's in Little Rock and I must say I found Stone's Throw to be the most creative and interesting of all the brewery's we visited. The man behind the bar knew his beers, was friendly with helpful and informative with his descriptions of each of the beers and how they were crafted. Pear Guavara Cider was a light, refreshing choice as was the Mighty Wing, a flavorful sour. The Shamus Stout (on Nitro) was creamy, malty, and delicious. Stone's Throw, a micro-brewery, appears to be passionate about their beers and it shows. Parking can be challenging, but well worth a trip. Put this one on your short list of places to visit. read more

Probably a three star but I'm not sure. Definitely a nano brewery. Few places in town have it but I wouldn't expect to find this out of state far. (I currently live in Colorado.) Not to be a beer snob but a lot of these were meh. I love IPAs but don't dog porters or stouts much. On my visit the menu was leaning more fall winter warmer so I didn't see any many I wanted. Got two tasters and then a pint later of what I liked the best. Great beer. Growlers. Crowlers. Little odds and ends to munch on. They also do the rotating food truck outside which is the norm these days. Outside area could be larger but it's on the corner so whatever. Nice lights and roped in area. Have the street lights so seeing isn't an issue. Inside two rooms it looked like. We all sat at the bar. Two sampler trays as I said. Always rotating things. You can also add syrups if you like which one local place by my house does also. Definitely a neighborhood joint. Another brewery a few blocks over. Notable to visit Stone if in the area. Not sure i would make it a local staple when I visit Little Rock weekly. Guess I settled my three or for star dilemma. Enjoyed this place but it didn't hit all my "must haves" I guess. read more

This is a cute little pub. The food was good. The cheese dip had ghost pepper flakes in it. Just the right amount of heat. The V sandwich had a lot of flavor. The chips were cooked to perfection. No sogginess. The grl cheese sandwich was good. Little different texture than normal. The bread was really good. The beers are yummy. They also serve Kombucha from a place in Hot Springs called A Lively Brew. I had the spicy ginger. It has a kick to it. All of their brews are not sweetened so keep that in mind if you order the Kombucha. Stone's Throw doesn't have parking so you will have to park on the street. Sometimes a block or 2 away. The place is not very big so you might be standing. They do have outdoor seating but the sun shines directly on that area. No shade. Overall a greay experience. read more

This is a place all homebrew lovers should give some love. The owners are all homebrewers who have decided to bring their liquid gold to the masses. I , for one, am glad they did. The seating space is small but inviting- a perfect place to bring a few friends, or make some new ones. The bar itself is small but functional and the entire space is well maintained and clean. I hope they get the outdoor patio up and running soon-it will be an awesome addition. The people here are very friendly and passionate about what they are doing. Play your cards right and you might get a tour of where the magic happens. You will be able to see their passion as they show you around and explain the process to you-this isn't just a job to them. Is the excitement warranted? If the beers I had on my visit are an indication-definitely! I am a fan of all things dark and the stout was very nice. It is nice that in addition to the two or three of their own beers on tap they feature some other delicious choices as well. They have not forgotten about the grub. They always have a food truck or two on site that are slinging some amazing stuff. It's a great concept because instead of a set menu you might get to experience a different type of cuisine every time you visit. We did a flight and enjoyed all the beers! The taproom is cute and inviting. Nice and bright. We were able to bring in our own food and had a flight of all their beers while enjoying our lunch. The waitstaff was very friendly and were animated when talking about the brews. I'm really glad we stumbled on this brewery while passing though. The thing I love about breweries is the super-social, fun, yet laid-back feel. They're the places you go out to to get that "group of buddies hanging out in the kitchen" feeling Oh, and the beer, that's another favorite feature :) Stone's Throw truly shines as a watering hole, a place you go to sit down, have a drink, chat with a bartender, strike up a conversation with a stranger - it's everything a casual brewery should be! They also do an excellent job of keeping things fresh, there are little events nearly every night, and bigger events scattered throughout the month. Great spot! Well worth the visit! The one thing I didn't like about it is that it's small. While that adds to the cozy, social feel, it does cross into crowded territory more often than not. That said, major points to the bartenders for being on the ball on making sure even those in the back get what they want! The selection of craft beers suit any taste and each was as good or better than the last. Although this wonderful little brewery/bar has to be your destination and not located among a cluster of businesses it is well worth the visit. I think it's impossible to have a bad time at Stone's Throw. The place smacks of casual scene while pouring complex beers on tap. I cannot possibly complain about the beer. They keep a roving tap of about seven or eight different brews that very much run the gamut in terms of style, taste, and ABV. Unless you absolutely hate beer (and then why would you even come inside?) then you'll find something you like on tap. I cannot possibly complain about the service. The folks they keep behind the bar are friendly and personable. They are the type of people who will recognize after you have been there only a few times, and then wonder where you went if you've been out of pocket for a month or so. But I can complain about the space. It is absolutely tiny, and even far past cozy. STB's management did alleviate the problem by adding outside seating, but with the label's popularity, available taproom space will be a persistent issue. They may want to consider overtaking the consignment/thrift shop next door to make way for additional seating. All in all, STB is the neighborhood bar you wish you had on your block. Can't say enough good about this place. We visited Arkansas for 4 days and we went to this brewery each of those days. The beer is very good. The atmosphere is great. The menu is limited but once you try the food you get that it's just because they serve the best of the best. However, what really made the experience was Liz the bartender. Still love the vibe, few breweries really get that corner bar feel like Stone's Throw. Most are that warehouse or industrialized/loud vibe that kind of detracts for me. Anyway, I have been coming here when I travel through Little Rock often. The major updates since my last review is a full kitchen with sandwiches, sides, and entrees. Which are a bit generic but good and filling for what they are. Service is always on top of things. Of coarse with lots of beers, I have really come to like Amadeus Vienna Lager, as well as the Common Sense, Wit, IPA's and even ciders. While maybe not everything is a hit for me (I"m not a fan of Nitro beers) but the vibe and overall quality makes this a spot I can hangout at for a long time. read more

I love the beer from Stone's Throw Brewing. The ciders they brew are very unique, and innovative. That being said, Stone's Throw's Dirty 7 IPA is by far my favorite IPA in town, by far. I'll keep it short and sweet. It's cool that they offer a lot of their drinks with a shot of juice or coffee, but they got my order wrong. I asked for a "juice box", which is a cider with a shot of cranberry juice, but the bartender put in orange juice. So that tells me she doesn't have their menu very well memorized. 2/3 of the "nibble" food menu items were crossed off, so all that were left were salad items and hummus. The regular food menu was very plain and almost all variations of grilled cheeses. The only items that had meat were a bologna sandwich and a ham and cheese sandwich.... The only soup on the menu was a roasted garlic and tomato soup, which sounded delicious. But when we ordered the grilled cheese and soup combo, they served it with chili... (And it was also very plain). 3/4 of the ice cream flavors available were also out. And they were out of regular chips. It's getting 2 stars because I liked my drink and my boyfriend kind of liked the chocolate stout. Not coming back :/ read more

Stopped by for brunch this morning. I had the plum-pear-cidermosa and my hubby had the breakfast shamus. As always, Stone Throw delivers when it comes to tasty beverages. We arrived just before it started to fill up (11:45 ish) and got an indoor table right away. You walk up to the counter to order drinks and food. I had the Poutine and hubby had biscuits and gravy with crumbled bacon. We waited over an hour for our food. In a period of 45 minutes, no food was delivered to any tables in our section. Everyone was getting antsy and people started asking about their food. The waitress did an admirable job of keeping grumpy, hungry people happy while constantly checking on food status. When our food arrived it was ok and we ate it - mostly because we were starving by then. The gravy on the poutine and biscuits was WAY too salty. I'll be back because I really like the neighborhood feel and beer. I won't order food unless they change food truck vendors. read more

Before the chapter of my life that is Little Rock comes to a close I'll be making my way back to Stones Throw. I had my first taste of their craft beer this past weekend on a bright and shining Saturday. It was a relaxing afternoon, and their Beer Sampler was the perfect way to keep it that way. A reasonable portion of each beer that was on tap behind the bar. All of them tasted delicious, but of course it depends on your preference. Their red was my favorite, but I tend to lean that way. Steering clear of anything "Hop-Tastic. I also ordered the Loblolly ice cream that was made with a batch of said craft beer. It was delicious, and so was the cheese, meat, and pickle tray. It was all local and all delicious. And what next you ask...? Well, we happened to be there for the "Randaling." It happens on Saturdays at 4:00 in the pm. They infuse their already tasty beer with something locally grown and procured. This weekend it was Vanilla Bean but the name of the local establishment fleets me in this moment. The prices were on par for such a small business venture, and just right. I love the fact that they and all the other local businesses help and promote each other. It's nice to see and is a great way to support one another. Honestly, there isn't one thing that I can say I disliked about Stones Throw, and that my fellow Yelp'rs, that is why I'll be making my way back. read more

I wanted to love it but it fell flat. As a traveler, I love to try local brews and love supporting local business. This place has a service problem and the quality of the beer is lacking. The service is far from friendly and not helpful to visitors although locals seem to get a good reception. The beer is 80% there when it comes to flavor but tastes watered down. Food is available inside but also via food truck. Not sure what that is about. If you do decide to go grab parking on the street and skip the beer sampler which is just disappointing. Definitely don't ask the bartender for help; you will be met with an angry glare and no recommendations. read more

First visit to this place yesterday. The bartender acted like we were annoying her from the time we sat down and the food was awful. I would like the peruse the menu for a minute, not be accosted by a drill sergeant wondering why I don't automatically know what I want to drink. The veggie burger (advertised as vegan) was a Morningstar black bean patty (not vegan) on a $.99 grocery store white bread bun with three pieces of spinach and four pieces of mushrooms. These guys are homebrewers who have gone pro. If this doesn't fuel my own brewing dreams, I don't know what will! We* stopped in for a sample at Stone's Throw this past Saturday afternoon on the way from Memphis to Hot Springs. The two house beers available (Patersbier and stout) were both tasty; the sample was rounded out by "guest" beers and a cider from other local and regional brewers. In addition to the teasty beer, a couple of things made our visit even more memorable. First, the brewer-on-site, who welcomed us immediately as we walked in, gave us (and anyone else in the tasting room who desired it) an impromptu tour of the brewhouse, during which he gave us background about their brewing experience and also about the larger neighborhood. Second, hand-made sausages (and very good ones) were available outside, courtesy of a local sausage-maker who was raising funds to open his own butcher shop. We don't make it to Little Rock too often, but this will be on my list of stops for when we do. *OK, me. My wife, though, is a good sport and probably has been to more breweries and brewpubs and gone on more brewery tours than any other non-drinker, God bless her. read more

I am not one for microbreweries, but I will say my experience here was very homey and welcoming. The bartenders have a pretty good system of making sure everyones pints are always full. They were also very informative and knowledgeable when it came to talking about their selections and were able to point me in the direction of a solid beer choice that satisfied my taste buds. They have nine beers to work with and they will serve you samples of all of them on a tray for 15 bucks. Thats a sweet deal considering they are very nice, I believe, 5oz. glasses. More than enough beer to get a solid buzz. They also offer a few other food items, but I didn't try any of their selection. The small, I guess I can call it dining area, is literally a stones throw away from the bar and kind of cozy. I believe there is a total of seven tables that seat four people each and then the bar that sits eight or nine. If this place was any bigger, it wouldn't have that local watering hole feel.
