Had a great stay at Stonewall Motor Lodge. Rented one of the cabins. Room was very cute. Loved having coffee on the patio in the morning. This was a birthday winery visit for me and the staff even left me a "happy birthday" note and hat. No road noise even with the windows open. Already planning our next visit.

We were "overbooked" at a well known hotel chain and were desperate to find a room. I called this place rather late and they were very accommodating. The room was clean, quiet, and the interior design was awesome! Set up like a motor lodge from the 60's but all modernly updated. The manager is a veteran and that made our stay even better. Very close to many wineries as well. Totally recommend this place if you don't mind staying just outside Fredericksburg.

After finding a couple of places closed, we called Barons Creekside. Best thing we ever did! We spoke to Lasca, who was actually out with her family for dinner Despite this, she got us set up in the cutest farmhouse, gave us directions and instructions to get in, and after her dinner was over, she stopped by to check if we needed anything. The excellent service did did not stop there. We were treated like family, and we really enjoyed walking the beautiful, scenic grounds and hanging out at "The Club" on property! Next time we go to Fredericksburg, we know where we will stay - at Barons Creekside!

It's in a great and safe area with an amazing view and right by a castle winery next door! First off, going into the room, it was so much bigger than expected! The decor was absolutely modern and cute, but most importantly super clean! If you're patio door was facing the towards the Fredricksburg direction, you get lucky to watch the sunset views along with a few cows in the distance. Such peaceful and beautiful views. If you didn't get the sunset rooms, I was able to watch the sunset from the hot tub which was also very clean! I loved that there is a little secret (not so secret) path that connects you straight to the castle winery!!! Perfect idea for a girls winery weekend especially if you rather play it safe and not drive, just grab drinks and food next door and walk back to the hotel and enjoy the pool! Honestly it was a great choice, we went to the garrison brothers distillery which is 10 mins from this hotel as well which is also a great thing to have nearby. Will definitely tell others about this place. Loved it!

We had burger & fries and margarita pizza while listening to live music. The villas are cozy & the beds are better than mine at home. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We're very patient and would have appreciated even a simple "We'll be right with you." Instead, watching another table receive service before ours was frustrating and unacceptable. Our server was a tall young man with longer hair and an accent. He seemed to spend more time walking around than actually attending our table. This was our family's last dinner together and it was sad to see such a gorgeous place make us feel like we didn't matter. Based on this experience, I won't be recommending this restaurant or returning. I can't say anything about the resort or wine itself, but if we were treated this way at the restaurant I wouldn't like to see how they treat actual guests if you don't meet their expectations.

Our cottage, the Tritch, had two separate bedrooms, and I appreciated the privacy and spaciousness it offered. The cottage came fully stocked with everything to cook on site, but the location is close enough to both Johnson City downtown and Hye, if you prefer to dine out, shop, or hit the wineries. The owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They really thought of all of the little details, including providing fresh chicken eggs(!!), popcorn, ice cream, oatmeal, granola bars, and coffee and tea. There was a communal fire pit, which we enjoyed using at night, and an enclosed puppy park area for pet owners. They also have a beautiful event venue near the front of the property, if you are looking to celebrate something with our without on site lodging. There was an outdoor sitting area just outside of our cottage, where I was able to enjoy my morning beverage in nature. Last but not least, they included free wine tasting certificates in the cottage as an added bonus, score! The feel at Wrenwood Ranch is warm and welcoming, but the separate cottages give you as much privacy as you want. We went into Johnson City and Hye a few times over the course of the weekend, and we were never bored. Wrenwood Ranch is a hidden gem and a great value when you consider all of the extras they provide. We hope to come back and to send our friends your way!

I booked Miss Lottie for myself for a solo trip. My retired mother decided to join me. So, I tried to upgrade to a larger trailer. Even though I booked well in advance (at least two weeks), when I tried to secure a larger space, I was informed that no changes could be made inside the 30-day window before my check-in date. Also, no refunds either. So, Mom and I shared the small trailer and made the best of it. But it would have been better to have the ability to move our reservation, especially if other trailers were available. Another reason I dropped a star is that we were not able to take a hot shower during our entire three-night stay. The property manager tried to fix the issue, but the water never got warmer than barely lukewarm. Since it was October and cool in the mornings and evenings, this was disappointing and very inconvenient. Furthermore, the showers are outside and I could not stand under cool water while being exposed to cool air, shivering to get clean. Besides those two grievances, we enjoyed our stay in the spotless, beautiful surroundings.

The Good: :: it's a local business!…read more :: location isn't too far from Fredericksburg (about 15 or so minute drive) :: very charming layout of 5 renovated Shasta RV trailers. you've got 5 fun-colored trailers on the property. the grounds are well-kept as are the units :: trailers themselves inside are great. AC units are quiet and work well. while there are no stoves, only a microwave for use, there is a pretty decently-sized refrigerator in the unit. great for keeping your wine bottles, beer, snacks, sandwiches, etc. the beds are Casper mattresses and are quite comfortable. plenty of seating on the other end of the trailer, lots of windows. single sink for use with soap for washing hands and cleaning dishes. basic glasses, etc for use. toilet in the trailer makes it quite convenient for late-night bathroom runs--otherwise you can use the nicer facilities in your private bathroom :: locks on the trailer and the bathroom doors make things feel secure :: record player with some records in the unit! very nice touch. i think the record player also was bluetooth-compatible but am not sure :: wifi in the unit, seemed to work well for me to stream Netflix :: covered trailers helps keep them cooler in summer :: chairs available outside of each RV trailer :: astroturf outside each RV trailer. great for laying down on, setting up a blanket or cornhole :: trashcan for use outside each RV trailer :: chimeneas for use outside of each RV trailer. they also supply the wood. (not usable in summertime but would be amazing for late autumn/winter use!) :: pool is small but functional--about 10 or so loungers and 4 or so umbrellas for use. pool isn't very deep--deepest part gets to only about 5 feet. you have pool towels for use that are kept in the bathrooms. speaking of bathrooms... :: bathrooms are private and very nice! spacious, clean. robes for use! plenty of towels. lots of counter space for your bathroom goods. they supply shampoo, conditioner, and soap. hairy dryer as well. :: they were really accommodating to my requests to remove all the bedding (blankets, pillows, sheets, covers, etc) as well as open up all the windows to air the trailer out due to the nature of the pandemic and concerns about the virus being airborne as well as being able to live on bedding like pillows (Google all, it's not fake news!). i brought my own bedding and felt much better and really appreciated their being so accommodating The Bad: :: not a lot to do out here other than the pool and grilling for summer and the outdoor fireplace for late autumn/winter. it would be great to have some more community things available for use. badminton, cornhole, etc. i know people can bring their own things but it would be great to have those things available for use :: the pool and pool area could use some regular maintenance. when i got into the pool, there were some beetles and grasshoppers that had gotten into the water. some were dead, some had just recently made it in and were still struggling. there was also some debris on the bottom from grasses? trees? no idea. also some debris in the pool area--silver ribbons of some sort that didn't get cleaned up from previous guests. broken umbrella was in the corner, too, and just made for unsightly decor. :: could really use some tables by the pool loungers :: water pressure from the showerhead wasn't fantastic, nor was the spray coverage. i'd recommend they replace the showerheads with better spray coverage and pressure The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Definitely planning on it! Looking forward to more outings out there for a quick Austin weekend getaway. Charming, easy drive out, easy to find, and a very different kind of experience other than your typical drab hotel chain. This place is IN.
