WOOOOOHOOOO! I've gone whitewater rafting a few times, but…read morethis was one of the best. The guides were really knowledgeable and friendly. The ride went smooth and we were able to hit class III and IV rapids on Clear Creek for about 13 miles! It was affordable and great for the whole family. They do offer easier rapid trip for the youngsters. They also offer day trips, or half days in the morning or afternoon. When I return to Colorado, I will definitely go through this group again!

Would highly recommend getting the lunch included package! It's served partway through the river…read moretrip at a picnic spot. Lunch is not 'gourmet' as they claim, but catered from Subway, but still tastes really really good after a day of rafting. Okay, maybe it's 'gourmet' if you consider that they brought both water and pink lemonade coolers on the rafts! Not only does Adventures in Whitewater offer lunch on the river, but we also stopped at a cliff from which you can jump off 25 feet into the water. For anyone who wants to try cliffjumping but also wants it to be safe, this one's for you. There was also a smaller cliff for those a little less daring. We took the 'beginning to moderate' river tour, but due to low rainfall was disappointingly uneventful (June 2013), kind of like tubing down a river really, with very few rapids. Fortunately that was the only disappointing part of Adventures in Whitewater. These guys are pros, everything was well coordinated and a bucket of fun.

TROUT HAVEN IS THE DEFINITION OF A TOURIST TRAP!!!…read more I specifically asked an employee to explain the pricing before we started. I asked, "So we can donate the fish?" He said, "Correct." What he didn't explain is that you pay for EVERY fish caught--even the ones you "donate" back to them. We brought six kids. One son caught 17 fish by himself in 45 minutes. Staff watched us fill buckets without saying a word as our bill climbed to nearly $400. Using the word "donate" is INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING. You're not donating anything--you're buying fish and giving them back to the business. In my opinion, this pricing model is PREDATORY and relies on tourists and families not understanding the rules until they're standing at the register. If your kids have the (virtually guaranteed) experience of catching (likely multiple) fish, prepare to pay dearly for it.

TOURIST TRAP OF THE WORST ORDER…read more Good: Any age WILL catch fish within seconds over and over because the pond is heavily stocked with 95% captive adolescent trout that aren't fed much. Bad: the fish will very likely be small, which is fine if you're going with little kids, but PAY ATTENTION because EVERY fish you catch WILL cost you BY THE INCH on top of whatever you paid for admission or poles. If you think the "donate" option for the fish caught will be free, you're mistaken. The Really Ugly Bottom line- the pricing is intentionally predatory and confusing. As someone who lives locally this was a bad look at a classic tourist trap. We took out of town family hoping to show them a good time. $400 later we left apologizing for the way our guests had been taken advantage of.
