Stoops Buick GMC was one of the most unprofessional dealership experiences I've had. I'm based in Dallas and was purchasing a high-end used vehicle from their Indianapolis location. I put down a $1,000 deposit to hold the car while I completed a pre-purchase inspection. I paid for the inspection and sent a mechanic to the dealership. I told them I needed to speak with the inspector and would confirm everything the next day. The inspection came back positive, so I immediately bought a plane ticket to fly up and pick up the vehicle. That same day, after I emailed them my plan and timing, they replied that they had sold the car to someone else and were refunding my deposit. There was no heads-up, no call, and no "we have another buyer, you need to finalize by X time." Just an email saying it was sold. As a result, I'm now out $786 for the plane ticket and the inspection with no remedy. A deposit should actually hold the car, not hold it until someone else walks in the door. From the minute DJ walked out & introduced himself, we liked him right away. The car we came to see was t on the lot, so he went and found it and drove it over to us. It was a 2024 model we liked, but DJ told us a new version wouldn't be that much more. So we bought the 2025! It's so amazing. DJ got us a discount also which was so nice! Sales procedure was fine. What wasn't fine was getting a car with an apparent known issue that caused complete destruction of the engine. When we had it towed there, the mechanic said this was a known issue. We purchased the vehicle used, unaware of the class action lawsuit that had already taken place and had closed. It would have been ethical had they at least disclosed this problem when we bought it. We owned it for 7 months before the engine blew due to this known issue. I now have a 4000 pound piece of scrap metal in my driveway that I must continue to pay for for 4 more years in addition to buying a new vehicle (which will neither be purchased from Stoops, nor will it be made by GM). But they DID offer us a whopping $500 trade in if we bought a new vehicle :::eyeroll::: The tires were worth more than that. Really unhappy with some recent service work I had done today. Took my 2020 diesel truck in (made an appt day prior) to have fuel filter replaced and radiator system flush. Dropped it off at 8am. At 3;30 PM service writer John called and said they could not get the filter housing off. Nut was stripped. I asked if they could replace the housing today as I was leaving at 6am on a trip out of town the next day. I was told NO. When I mentioned it again when I picked the vehicle up he just shrugged his shoulders. I talked to the manager and explained what I was unhappy about and they said it was fine and I am being picky. Etching in the glass 250 dollars etc to identify parts if its stolen, What is it? It's a $18 kit you can buy on Amazon that chemically etches your VIN into your glass if you want to. It takes no skill, and no time to do it. In other words, it's a complete farce to notch a few hundred extra dollars out of the buyer with no effort whatsoever. Then here goes the paint protection, nitrogen in the tires. Nitrogen is free at tire shops Blah blah. Only for an extra 2000. We were searching the internet for a late model Buick Enclave in a specific color, finish, and price point. I saw that Stoops had a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle that matched our criteria. Before reaching out, I looked online for reviews of the dealership and sales team. Steve's name appeared and had received high reviews. I then looked at the photos of the sales team. Steve was my choice because he appeared to be in a similar demographic to my father. When I phoned and asked to speak to Steve he was "as kind as his photo made him look." That may sound crazy, but I told him I was 165 miles away and wanted to know about the Enclave before deciding to make a trip. But...I surprisingly had a great experience this time around purchasing my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. I walked in to the dealership and didn't feel like I was being attacked by "vultures" looking for their next sale and I met Kent Fisher who I feel went above and beyond his duties as a car salesman and it is definitely the first time I have actually enjoyed not only a new vehicle but the process of purchasing it. Yes I had to wait a little longer than expected because I came in during the busiest time on a Saturday but it was well worth the wait and I was able to get an even better APR by going through them. I had all of my financing and everything else in order before coming and knew exactly what I was getting but he asked to let them try to beat the rate and they were able to get me under 2% and once I went in to sign all of the paperwork I was out within 10-20 minutes. All in all I enjoyed the Stoops Buick and GMC dealership and it was a very nice facility but I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed working with Kent vs any of the other sales people I have dealt with with my last 5 car purchases. If you are ever looking to work with Stoops I personally would recommend Kent Fisher. I felt he didn't seem to be concerned about the money he would be making on the deal and instead was more worried about the money that I would be saving and my experience. Thank you Kent! My fiance bought her 2014 GMC Terrain here about a year ago. The staff was great. We never felt pressured to buy anything, they were more than happy to answer any questions we had, and the staff was very knowledgeable. We had two free oil changes and tire rotations under are warranty, which we finally used the first one last week. When my fiance called to schedule an appointment, they tried getting us in as early as possible at 7:00 AM. We couldn't get in till 7:45 AM due to our schedule but when I showed up they got me right in. Again the staff was awesome and gave me some useful tips to tell my fiance about her ride to pay attention to. They were unable to provide the car wash that they usually give when you bring in your car due to the weather, but that was OK and understandable. They had me out of there within 45 minutes, which I was expecting it to be much longer due to the amount of people that was already there.
