This is hands down the best stop and shop store I've ever been inside in Connecticut. Newly remodeled, they have many different kinds of hot food options if you're in Glastonbury and running in while on a lunch break. I've never seen a grocery store with a stir fry station until now, and the food is absolutely delicious. They have a pretty solid sushi selection here too, so if you work close by, it's well worth the lunchtime visit. read more

This is my go to market. I'm hooked on this stop & shop ever since whole foods took over at nearby fox run mall. It's still Glastonbury prices, but the market is clean, stocked and has great staff & features. Shout out to manager Bill who saw me scouting for a discontinued item, so ordered it back in! I love the self scanner! No matter how much you buy, you can go through the fast lane 12 items or less, plus it's all bagged! (Coupons still work at checkout). It's fast and convenient, plus no price guessing. No waiting at the deli for your number, as you can type in at the kiosk & pick up later during your shopping trip. The ladies at the florist area even made up a special bouquet for my gatsby style wedding from a photo I brought in. (I had to provide the pre ordered ostrich feathers, lol) then they told me they saw my wedding photo in the local papers. Love this store. I go out of my way to shop here. The only issue is the other customers. Seriously, go here knowing that you will be silently judged by passive aggressive middle-aged women. I try to go during off-hours because of it. read more

Worst experience ever! Attempted to go grocery shopping at a Stop & Shop. While I was trying to select fresh produce to purchase, I was suddenly startled by a silent creeping robot right behind me with multiple cameras in it just listening to me and recording me. I felt violated and left. I will never shop here again. read more

Tired of high prices. Tired of buying bags that don't even make it to the car. Don't like buying prepackaged meat, chuck roast etc.

I've been shopping here for a long time. The place really improved when they remodeled. The food is good, and so are the prices. I've done especially well at the fish market and appreciate the salmon and swordfish, especially when they are on sale. The store is very clean. The employees are helpful, especially at the fish market and the Starbucks. This is the only Starbucks I've been too where they will make your coffee fresh via the pourover method. I really like the bar code scanners you use to shop in the store. You carry them with you and wand and bag your groceries as you go. You then scan at a register and get automatically checked out. It made me feel very safe during COVID because I never had to get near anyone. They are also good about providing masks and hand sanitizer. I also really liked the hours - I can go fairly late in the evening after returning from work. The items made in store are almost always good. Strangely enough, they make guacamole as good as any I have had in Texas or New Mexico. While they had it, the stir-fry bar was really good too. You picked your ingredients and then they cooked it up like Mongolian barbeque. They discontinued that during COVID. I would love to have you bring that back! Inventory is sometimes a little spotty. The shortages tend to be a little strange, though they are most often for low sugar items like unsweetened almond milk. I used to have to go to multiple stores for what I wanted with the shortages. Generally it has gotten better. I can almost always get what I want now. read more

Well, they are conveniently located and have plenty of parking. The florist is superb and the staff is friendly and mostly helpful. I should stop there as that is the good stuff....... But then there is the fish department that smells like week old fish, the deli department where the kid wears gloves but touches everything around him with them, the multitude of items not stocked, and the produce which ranges from fresh to rotten. It is the inconsistency which makes me hesitant to go there, particularly if I need a specific item. All in all, as a market, it serves a purpose. But high prices, variable selection, and lack of consistency make it a gamble on how bad a shopping experience it is going to be!!!! read more

During the pandemic I've seen as many as six (Silver Lane) Stop & Shop employees in a single visit wearing their masks improperly, or not at all. This common violation of CDC protocol constitutes a health threat to all of us, and clearly reflects ineffective management. So to remain healthy, I now avoid Stop & Shop. But today I had a quick question for the bakery, so I took a risk. Sure enough, the employee's mask covered only her chin. She also seemed annoyed at my question, which she then answered incorrectly. Never again will I have to worry about poor quality and service: expired milk; rotting beef; employees unnecessarily approaching me within inches. NEVER AGAIN will I walk thru those doors. read more

Absolutely the worst pharmacy I've ever used. Once again, I showed up at the pharmacy four days after calling in a refill only to find that a "glitch" in the system caused my prescription to not be ready. This has never happened at any other pharmacy, but is the third time it's happened here. I'm going to transfer all my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

The Seafood Dept. here is somewhat unreliable. One day you can get very fresh fish, the next it can be badly spoiled or simply not fresh... To their credit, one day when I got home and discovered that the 4 lbs. of mussels I had purchased were spoiled, they refunded my money without question. But I'd rather go "over the river" to City Fish and get seafood that I know is fresh.... read more

The store has undergone a major facelift. However, after visiting it, one realizes that essentially nothing has changed, but simply just moved around. I'm very disappointed in this store. High prices and a really poor kitchen with a limited selection of prepared foods leaves a lot to be desired. read more

This is the one closest to my house, surprisingly there is two in my town. Prices aren't the best considering there is a whole foods and highland park market near by both whom are said to be more on the expensive side, yet just about anywhere else excluding here the meat and veggies are fresh vs this location is a hit or miss. Parking is decent and reachable from two major roads and highway 2. Large selection of just about everything else you need, large variety of brands so on. Large selection of frozen foods and vegetables, ice cream and dairy. If you are a mom with multiples however, you should know that the shopping cart only sits one, in which case you have to use the smaller cart with the tyke "little 2 seater car" attached on the front which like everywhere you have ever used it, is extremely hard to navigate, turn, push or try to stop. Today at the register as I was trying to navigate this horrid cart, the guy at the register just told me," push it harder".. As it was getting stuck. I was struggling to get it by the register ( mind you, I'm pregnant) not him or the guy bagging the food offered to help me just stared at me suffering through. Other than this the service is not bad as long as you don't ask for help in finding anything as half of them don't seem to know where anything is and by the time they consult each other on an items location you could just find it by your self. Redesign looks great! They put a lot of money into upgrading the store. I had stopped going there about a while ago because there was plastic in my sliced cheese from the deli counter. I went back again yesterday because of the redesign and what did I find today ... plastic in my sliced cheese from the deli counter ... maybe invest in the employees and they will stop putting wrapping plastic in the deli sliced cheese. read more

I apologize for that review about Stop and Shop. I always shop there and it is ALWAYS clean. We're all under so much stress. I had just come home and was only angry at myself for going into a large grocery store. I have been having my groceries delivered and my nerves were shattered. Not their fault. I go to the Oak St. Store which is further than the closest Stop and Shop to my home BECAUSE it's always so immaculate . Grocery Store employees are amongst our most vulnerable part of our population. read more

Oak street is our favorite store in the area. On 8/2 there were multiple families shopping while not wearing masks. While they have wipes for the carts and hand sanitizer for customers, no one is enforcing the necessity to wear masks. For the first time we are rethinking where to shop safely. read more

It's a Super Stop and Shop. Prices are quite high for everyday items, pushing $5 a gallon for milk. The main thing I pick up here are meats (mostly chicken and beef, sometimes pork) when they are the loss leader for a sale. Stick to that, and maybe the sale aisle closest to the produce section and you should come out ahead. Stay away from the interior aisles if you value your $$! read more

This is probably the better of the two Stop and Shops in town. The set-up is easy to maneuver. There is a Starbucks inside so that gives it an extra star. Even when I've gone early in the morning, like 9am, there is more than enough people around. They open up more registers, which allows for shorter lines. The location is close to my work, so this is more coiveneinet for me. The prices are good, so long as you have a stop and shop card. I highly recommend getting one if you don't have one so you can take advantage of the deals and savings they have! read more

This stop and shop has more than others with a big vegan section. Usually stocked with all items including sale items. They offer self check, self scan, and traditional check out. The accommodate most customer service requests. read more

The people who work here are very nice and helpful. This place has actually some good specials. The only down side is the promotion they had for Patriots tickets. Even if you purchased the required products you still are not entered into the contest. This is the fault of the corporation , not the local staff. read more

Can not recommend this store at this time. It has been under renovation for several months now, constant relocation of items, recently the store has had major construction during open hours, really? Last straw - shelves are not being restocked, no fruit / vegetables, dairy, meats, bottled water, deli department closed, etc...looked like a store after hurricane panic. read more

A recent cost cutting change in the produce department (people let go, hours cut, etc.) is that now instead of hand sorting the fruit and getting rid of the bad ones they simply put the boxes in the bin and cut them open. Went the other day for plums and couldn't find a single good one. Does the produce manager not walk around and look at what he's trying to sell to people? This was the final straw. People who work the registers at this store are rude I have shopped here for years and have found most have talked around me to other cashiers while ringing me up. I even had an assistant manager berate me for not placing water bottles of 36 on belt. I am only speaking of cashiers, elsewhere in store people are nice and helpful. My husband and I have been shopping at 55 Oak Street in Glastonbury, CT. We are extremely disgusted with the overall quality of their food. On several occasions we bought Guidas and Garelick brand milk that was good for over a week, yet the milk was completed spoiled. Also, their produce seems old. The lettuce goes bad within a few days and cucumbers we bought were rotted. This store is completely dirty and apparently they don't restock their departments with fresh items. The store manager doesn't seem to care considering all we received was an apology. Stop n shop has completely lost our business. We will be shopping with their competitor who will provide us with good customer service and quality food we deserve as consumers. read more

Not a big fan of the Pharmacy located in the store. Mostly go to pick up wife's pills and always seems to be an issue whenever one pharmacist is working there. She seems very disorganized and very rude. Wish my wife went somewhere else like the CVS across the street. read more
