I spontaneously came in for a late lunch. The Country Store reminded me of NYC bodegas given its products, set-up, and deli counter. While there aren't a lot of prepared foods to go, the sandwich menu is definitely vast. It was hard to choose a sandwich to get. I ultimately got the Spinach and Chicken wrap ($7.99) and Reuben ($7.49). They were done in a jiffy. When I brought both home, I was really, really surprised by how good they were. Both were a bit warm and had a good mayo or sauce. The Spinach and Chicken wrap was especially good. The chicken was moist, and the sandwich included some bacon. Nice touch! I'd definitely grab another sandwich here sometime.

A wonderful selections of grinders. Over 50 different grinders. A great convenience store. If you ask for something that's not there, they will do there best to get it.

This place is a small store but has a very big atmosphere. The service is polite and very friendly and they seem to know their customers well. Their sandwiches are made to order and are delicious and are priced well!

It's hard to believe this place has been around for at least 10 years (at least since I had first moved to Glastonbury), and it only has 3 reviews. Then again, it's not in a high traffic area and really only comes off as a convenient store when it offers so much more. I used to work near here, and this place offers some of the best sandwiches around! They have a deli inside where they slice everything fresh for lunch, and you can choose just about anything you want to put on your sandwich. The menu is huge too ranging from chicken cutlets to Italian subs to big roast beef or turkey sandwiches! The employees are super friendly too and will let you know everything they have back there for your subs. My favorite is the Italian. Not only are the sandwiches great, but they're all around $7-$8 and are enormous! It's really a great deal, and they're pretty quick about cranking them out. On top of the sandwiches, this place offers a decent assortment of grocery items as well as beer! It's really a hidden gem in this area that probably only the locals know exists, but it's only about a half mile from exit 10 off route 2, so it's really easy for anyone to get to. I'm always about supporting local sandwich shops, so if you're in the area, forget about the Subway next door and check out this spot for some great sandwiches! P.S. They DO accept credit cards now.

Decades earlier, Sneideman's wife said that he should make his own restaurant called "Skyscraper", in reference to New York City. Sneideman didn't end up opening a restaurant, but he did spend over 25 years in the culinary field where he spent time managing fast-casual restaurants. Eventually he decided that he wanted to work for himself and an opportunity for a new food truck came along. He finally had the chance to use the name "Skyscraper", and the focus of the menu became New York-style deli sandwiches. Many of the sandwiches feature corned beef or pastrami, such as 'Reubens' and 'Rachels'. Skyscraper Sandwiches can usually be found parked at breweries, wineries, farmers' markets, and various festivals throughout Connecticut. Sneideman is often assisted by members of his own family. My family and I sampled some of Skyscraper's delicious sandwiches this past autumn. We were visiting Long View Ciderhouse in Southington and Skyscraper Sandwiches was the scheduled food truck that day. I can't say no to a good Jewish-style deli sandwich. After looking over the menu, I ordered a "Turkey Cranberry Melt" (hand-carved roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, tomatoes, melted Swiss on grilled rye), my wife ordered the "Reuben" (pastrami, Swiss cheese, truck sauce, and sauerkraut on grilled rye), and our older son ordered the "Pastrami Grilled Cheese" (pastrami, melted Swiss, sweet onion jam on grilled rye). These were huge sandwiches and very filling! The meats were delicious as well as the rye bread that they use. The sandwiches paired well with our cider flights. I really hope that I run into Skyscraper Sandwiches again!

What a terrifically constructed sandwich with great ingredients. The rye bread was awesome and expertly grilled. The turkey was outstanding and good juicy. And check out the pics and see the unique way they grooved the turkey. Loved it. The Swiss - melted! The coleslaw tasted fresh and provided the needed crunchy texture. My one small note - I could have used more Truck Sauce (said in a Christopher Walken voice). It was a bit hard to pick up with the substantial stack of other ingredients. Skyscraper indeed! 4.5 Stars with a round up to 5. I'm watching you Skyscraper Truck
