Beyond terrible. The seafood here is atrocious. Almost anything you choose ("fresh") will be extremely rubbery dry and flavorless when you cook it at home. I've been cooking and catching seafood for years and never have had such horrible quality. Literally like eating a shoe. I felt so bad for the animals that died for nothing. And the staff? Watch out for the young kids that work here if you choose to wear shorts or a dress. They will howl, whistle, cat call you. The store is clean and has a great selection, just our experience with the staff was unpleasant. Last night at self checkout we brought to their attention a pricing error on a box of cereal. The man who helped us went and checked the price. He brought back a picture of the tag. All he needed to say was Sorry mam (to my wife) you grabbed the wrong box, or something along those lines. Instead. he was very rude and condescending to her and insinuated it was her error. We could careless about the dollar, just expected to be treated with respect. After walking out of Aldi's empty handed went here and was in my element. A real and normal grocery store. Was just like Safeway dack home. Had everything I needed plus. Clean dtore. Things were not in boxes. The carts were even free to use. Novel idea. read more

On Saturday, 8/12, (Mass tax free weekend) got home and looked at the receipt. I noticed that sales tax WAS charged!! I called the store. The woman at the "courtesy" desk did not understand when I had said that sales tax was applied to the order. She was like, "Uh huh." I had to spell it out for her that it was tax free weekend. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. At least she was cognizant and understood. Stop & Shop had NOT done the necessary update to not apply sales tax. They were in the process of updating it then. The supervisor at least had the where with all to apologize. So, the solution is to hold onto the receipt and to go back in to get a refund. They never have even half the things you ordered, they are always late bringing it out to you, and when you call the phone number they list to let them know you are there, no one ever picks up the phone. This location is doing everything wrong right now. Funneling all customers through one entrance. Creating a bottle neck to pick up baskets and carts. Keeping an employee seated in front of the door to count customers, barely giving that person any protection. I wouldn't risk my health or the health of their employees to come back here during this pandemic, and I sure won't be back after either. read more

This used to be my favorite stop and shop! I like the marked down meat....so many choices in this store!! Way better then the stuff at market basket.... But....last year I went there and ordered my son's birthday cake...went back on his birthday and they had forgotten to make it!! Are you kidding me????? And now I went in for lobsters on memorial day....finally my turn at the counter...and the guy sees his buddy down at the meat counter part of the seafood/meat counter and waits on him first...I know I was next...maybe taking numbers would help? Should have complained but didnt bother Then I tried to buy them...the printer they used to price my lobsters was too light...after ten minutes of embarrassment with the now long line giving me dirty looks...I told them to put them back in the water... Opened today, December 1 2017! No wonder the old Stop&Shop never got a makeover.... they were only waiting to move to this new and enticing spot. Typically, when I walk into a store that used to be something else, I still feel like I'm there.... in this case though, that is not at all true. This place was given a complete gut job and full renovation.... doesn't feel at all the previous Kmart store that used to exist here. Brand new everything and new outline for the store in general. Completely new look for the company and definitely a new impression for Milford residents who used to have to go to the old and depressing store on Route 16. While some of the staff are the same, there is a new store manager, along with a new crew of team members that are all keeping a high emphasis on cleanliness in this store. And even with it only being the first day open, it was present that this is a long term goal and not just for the time being. Everyone seemed to be working hard with the large crowds in store and lots of needed checkout registers open. Starbucks, along with a full cafe area, along with a Citizens' Bank branch are all present in this store, with an in store pharmacy that actually sits in the middle of the store, which I find to work well, providing even more wall space around it to display items. While this particular Stop&Shop is very large, I don't believe it is as large as my local store with a count of 15 aisles rather than 25. With that said, some sections are condensed and space isn't wasted on things that just don't sell. It's a grocery store, not Staples, they don't need to have every brand of pencils and pens. They also are not CVS and need two full aisles of Hallmark cards. So I am very happy with the lack of space wasted; along with no sense of crowdedness throughout the store. The parking lot is a different story. I will hope it was just because of opening day, but in general, it seemed small, congested and wasn't put together quite correctly by the architects. Stop signs missing, weirdly shaped and sized exits, and a lack of cart corrals in the side parking lot (not one!). Then again, I cannot complain much. This place gives Milford a great, clean, new grocery option which is wonderful and necessary. I live in Westwood and even though I do most of my shopping at Stop&Shop, I do value that I have two fantastic grocery stores in my very town (Wegmans and Roche Bros) that are both "top knotch". Before this store opened, there wasn't any really "great" grocery shopping spots in Milford (or Bellingham for that matter). Target was decent, Shaw's I haven't been to (but haven't heard great things about), Big Y was changed from Hannaford... but not remodeled at all; and therefore, also lame, and Aldi is just disgusting. Price Chopper in Hopkinton is definitely the next best option to here. But anyway, Milford residents should definitely give this place a shot, it's a whole different story than the previous Milford Stop&Shop! 5 stars. I will be back when in the area..... this is the nicest Stop&Shop to date! read more

Check the dates on everything. Great location and looks nice but I'm hesitant to buy anything here especially meat. Limited meat selection cut absurdly thick. Butcher leaves at 3:30 on fridays leaving no one to recut. Ground beef looks good on the outside, and is dated new but often inside is dark gray/brown and smells. Also need to watch the ready to pick up cold cuts. Some were cut 5 days ago. Idk about u but I want to buy meat cut that day but the lines at the deli are always ridiculously long. Check dates on everything in the store, I also bought an ice cream birthday cake then noticed as I served it that the expiration date was 3 months prior. This store appears nice but quality of products and service is really bad. read more

Well run location. Best meat section of any stop&shop I've been to. Too bad these cry baby employees all gang up to walk out and protest against the business. You don't like your pay then get a new job. Supermarkets are the lowest entry level position you could apply for. I went shopping The other day and the protestors were shoulder to shoulder blocking the door and I wanted to give them a piece of my mind but just not worth it trying to talk to them so I squeezed through. This Stop & Shop is the most beautiful I've ever stepped into. The layout is efficient & it's easy to navigate around. I love the fact that they have a Starbucks & a juice bar. They have a large self service section that is partitioned off from the other registers making it easy to get in & out quickly when they are busy. Our new favorite supermarket! read more

I am a long- time Stop & Shop shopper. I use Stop & Shop in Milford and in Dennis. The growing substitution of mainly Stop & Shop brands and difficulty finding preferred brands is frustrating; some Stop & Shop brand products are of poor quality. However, I have always liked the stores, most of the offerings, and the personnel. Very recently, I have had one food quality issue and four consecutive bad customer service experiences, all in Milford. Two involved the meat/fish counter. As I waited to be helped, both times, the employee carried on a lengthy social conversation with a customer/acquaintance whose transaction was finished. There was no indication that he was aware that he should be checking for customers and waiting on them. After five minutes each time, I left. This past Monday, I had a checker -I'll refrain from using her name-who was very immature, unfocused, and clueless. She was not intentionally rude-just poorly trained in the basics, like the fish/meat guy. There was a large amount of white powder on the conveyer belt. It looked like flour, but could have been any of several substances, including baby powder or household cleanser, etc. Although there had been no one in her line until I came, she didn't seem to know she should wipe it up. I suggested it. She replied,"Oh, ya, I'll get that cleaned up." She continued to ring me up, I mentioned again the powder which was now widespread as the conveyer continued to revolve, she giggled and said she thought it might be flour. I finally had to spell it out for her that she needed to stop and wipe it up, since neither I nor any other customer wants unidentified powder all over their groceries. She did finally catch on and clean it up, but before, during, and after my entire check-out, she was completely wrapped up in chatting, joking, socializing with several other teen employees-should she get her hair cut? Should she cut it like her friend at the other register? She may as well have been at a party. I had to interrupt her to get her to take my Stop & Shop card, and she made an error that necessitated someone with a register key coming over to fix it. In my order that day were two packages of pork chops for that night's dinner. One package was bad, as evidenced by its odor, sliminess, and actual disintegration on the top of the chops. Two of us had pork chops, and I cooked burgers for the other two. Today, I made a special and inconvenient trip to return the bad meat, receipt in hand. After the service counter person asked if I wanted to go get another package ( I had told her they were Monday's dinner), she refunded my money. There was no "sorry about that," "sorry you had to make another trip," ...nothing! Again, very basic, common-knowledge, customer service fundamentals. I'm left wondering two things: first, what kind of training is going on at Stop & Shop these days? And second, are these employees earning the rewards of their hard-won new contract? Ok so it's as a very good selection of meat,snacks,etc and it clean organized but the only thing is the customer service the worker at the cash register was very rude he gave dirty looks , got annoyed,and had a nasty attitude when my mom ask to scan the water he was very rude about it I don't if it's because he was racist because she's Hispanic and has a somewhat heavy accent but overall it's all good except for the some customer service read more
