I shop at stop and shop but they are a terrible neighbor. They dont pick up the litter and trash outside the store and it blows into my yard and my neighbors yards. I called headquarters the other day but no action. It will be litter on Easter. They need to run a store like Market Basket. This has gone on for years, take a look for yourselves. Stop and shop has had my earlier reviews removed by saying I was not a customer. Clean it up!! read more

On the plus: they just had a grand re-opening and what to my wondering eyes should appear but a full beer and wine section, stocked with many local craft brews. Rad, just rad. On the minus: I responded to the the business owner's reply to my last review update and never heard back from Stop & Shop - local manager or corporate. Ah well, at least there's beer now. read more

I go out of my way to shop elsewhere for my meat products because almost every single time I would buy from stop and shop, the meat is NOT fresh. Had to buy ground beef today (was in a rush and couldn't go elsewhere). Label said it was packaged today, and what a surprise.. brown in the middle and literally triggered my gag reflex when I smelled it... it's insane that it's been like this for so long... I've worked in restaurant kitchens for years and know spoiled meat when I smell it... back to Big Y I go... if anyone's looking for fresh meat and beef, Big Y is not too far of a drive.. read more

So, in case you haven't noticed, Stop & Shop is now charging its customers 10 cents per shopping bag at the checkout counter. This new policy was instituted without any forewarning or explanation; Stop & Shop just started doing it, and if you as a customer have a problem with it, then that's just too damned bad! Personally, I don't think Stop & Shop has gone far enough. If they really want to treat their customers with contempt--and they obviously do--they should start by charging them for the air they breathe inside their stores. They might also consider charging their customers a small fee for using the exit door after their shopping experience is over, and any customer who refuses to pay it will have to spend the night locked up in the store with Marty the Robot. read more

I stop in here often when going to the Family Cookouts at the cousins house right down the street... Just like any other Stop & Shop... This one is always clean & the people are pleasant, which is soo much more than I can say for the ones in my area... read more

I find it very irresponsible for a grocery store chain to not require its employees to wear masks to protect the customers. Don't bother calling to check on a item unless you want to be hung upon or either transferred around the store only to get a vague answer. This is not the first time it's happened either, just the first tine I decided to voice my frustration. I spend a great deal of money there and you would think they could spend 3 minutes looking up and item. My answer to " do you think you discontinued the item?" I have no idea.. read more

I had a terrible experience in this store. The robot was following me around everywhere I went and made my 2 year old son cry. When I went to the desk to ask for help there was no one there. I only went into bake shop and the worker there would not stop saying sorry randomly and whispering under his breathe weird slurs. Very bizarre atmosphere in here and was happy to leave. This is one of the nicest looking Stop&Shop that I have come across. They have very nice selection of fruit and vegetables, unlike some other locations they actually looked fresh. Their bakery looked great and smelled wonderful. Loved the cookie samples they had out. Prices on everything I looked at was pretty good. Very nice large parking lot. The bathroom was the only run down spot in the store. It's in a great need for a remodel. read more

BRRRRRRR.... this Stop&Shop is literally FREEZING. It's so cold, it's uncomfortable. Really. If you don't like cold, don't even bother coming here, because whoever built the building definitely didn't put the air conditioning / heating system in correctly. Anyway, the overall atmosphere (besides the temperature here) is pretty good. The store is clean, well stocked, remodeled, and good size for a small town like Norwell. No, not the largest, and no it doesn't have everything in my local Stop&Shop, but it worked for everything I needed it to (except for a specific type of chocolate it doesn't carry....). Large parking lot, and those cool scanners are available to use. The major downfall of this store is the high prices (seemed just a tad higher than my local store), self checkout, and some of the staff. You would think when they did the renovation they would've replaced the self checkout with the newer, nicer machines that work well and don't make anyone lift a 24-pack of water (rather by clicking a button to add it in), but no, just keep the old machines and let the shoppers deal with waiting for it to load. And the staff, well it's a real toss up between someone amazing or someone terrible. In short, Samantha is one of the most helpful, friendly, efficient employee I've witnessed in years and years of going to all sorts of different places. Jesse is sort of rude, and not nearly as helpful. Manager Sue is alright. She seemed friendly to me and others and then seemed extremely annoyed with certain customers, don't know what to make of that. All in all, my local Super Stop&Shop in Walpole isn't comparable to this average store. It's pretty good for the essentials and more, isn't overly spacious or have ALL amazing staff members (like Samantha). There must be a better all-around supermarket in this area. 3 stars for the Norwell Super Stop&Shop. read more

It took me awhile to figure out the layout, and sometimes locating an item is totally unintuitive. The staff is usually really helpful, though. The produce is usually pretty fresh, the deli and meat departments are good, but I really wish there was a fresh fish department. I like the gas points program, and the Scan It wand that rings up most of your items that you bag yourself. read more

This store is filled with teenagers on their cell phones. If you order cooked lobsters from the fish department, and the person taking your order tells you they take 15 minutes, it would be really great if they also mentioned that you are not the next person in line and that it will really take 30 to 45 minutes because there were other people in front of you. This is a sign of very bad management. I have also been in the store immediately before Thanksgiving and found them to be out of popular items like flour. I try to avoid this store when possible. read more

Since August 2nd Peapod has not transferred my sales to Stop & Shop so that I might use the gasoline discounts. They say that they are "Working on it" for more than a month. Oh & they are now charging $ 6.95 / delivery even though they get it wrong almost every week, substitutes Nice drivers but lousy business ethics. I called the customer service line and spoke with a very nice woman who although she tried to help, couldn't understand why I was frustrated after spending 1/2 hour on the phone reviewing each purchase for the last month and 1/2, just to get the lousy points I asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold for another 20 minutes then disconnected, with a voice mail response. They continue to advertise the program and issue false receipts sending you to their gas stations which DO NOT GIVE YOU CREDITS!!! I call the attorney general today to file a written complaint. read more

Bad shrimp. I believe I was poisoned with shrimp from the deli at stop and shop on February 7 2017. My body went into shock after eating 4 raw shrimp I purchased around 7 pm. My eyes were 3/4 shut my body became ingulfed with large red welts and swollen skin under my armpits my stomach my neck and other areas.I was given the shrimp from the counter from a young man.After walking away with the shrimp the young man began to giggle to himself.I looked back and he was watching me walk away. I didn't say anything to him butI thought it was very peculiar. I went home and ate them within a half hour and almost instantly I had these reactions. I sent over a friend to the pharmacy and she bought me some benedrial.Luckly after taking about 8 tablets I began to heal. It took 2 full days.I have reported this to the store manager about 10 days after it happened and havent heard anything. I'm schedule for an allergy test but I dont think it's going to show I'm allergic to she'll fish since I ate shrimp 4 days ago without incident. I really think I was poisoned. read more

I've been going to this stop n shop every morning for the past two weeks at 9 AM, because i work close by and I would love to get a parfait for breakfast but every morning they don't have them. and when i politely ask somebody that works there about it they "haven't had time to make it" ... for the past two weeks. honestly if you're not going to have the parfaits made by 9AM (which most people have for breakfast) than don't bother making them at all. from now on ill go to shaws. read more

After experiencing Market Basket in Bridgewater; going to Stop and Shop is disappointing. Their quality of food has gone way down, their meat is marbled and gritty and their prices keep going up. The fact that they can not staff more than one or two registers WITH baggers is ridiculous. I have seen elderly people bagging their own groceries; its shameful! Market Basket quality and prices are 100% better; even though they get busy they have 7+ registers open with baggers. There are so many employees always around to help, they never resort to customers bagging their own things, and they are staffed how they should be to handle customer throughput. S&S is a huge nationwide company and the fact that their managers watch as their customers bag their own food is disgusting. Pay more staff, schedule more staff, and make the customer experience priority. Hardly ever go here anymore. read more
