i have been buying bakery applie pies from market basket because they use the correct baking appes preferrably macintosh because they soften and bake well. Im very disappointed with every apple pie i buy at stop and shop in revere! yesterday i bought a $10 honey crisp apple pie that was exactly that, crisp! the apples were not at all soft! they are always hard apples at stop and shop! they should use baking apples like macintosh, cortland or empire! i will not buy any apple pies any more from here until they learn how to bake a proper apple pie! read more

I am so upset with the Stop & Shop location. They were eight people in line waiting to get checked out by a human. Meanwhile they had four self check outs operating and one lonely girl checking out the long line of people waiting to get checked out by a human being. I refuse to check myself out when they're not paying me to do so that's somebody's job shame on you stop and shop you keep up these antics and I guarantee you this location will be close down. I see the clientele that goes into the Stop & Shop people in Revere like to get service when it's included in the price you want to slash your price's 20 30 40% sure I'll put my own stuff in a bag but until then I would open up a few more registers. And by the way, every single person in the city that I speak to feels the same way. Very very very disappointed in this store. Is there anything less than one star????? My on line shopping experiences have gone from good to horrific. I have received damaged products that was money down the drain, later deliveries, missing items that I was invoiced for and today I never received my order. I was invoiced for $153.21 (including fees and driver tip) but my bank account was deducted for $195.26!!!!! Of course the money has NOT been returned to my account! I would NOT recommend using their online ordering and delivery. It is supposed to be a convivence, instead it is a nightmare. And just TRY to get a problem resolved. read more

Stopped by to do some food shopping since target has lines lately. It's like a competition of market basket now! Anyways! I came in, there was no lines outside and it's not crowded inside too! Food selection is good and it doesn't seem to be depleted as of the moment I went there. Got everything I needed so far and paid. The lines for the cashier wasn't that crazy either. Some people bought a few stuff but I chose to go to the self service just to avoid waiting. I got out of there in less than an hour. read more

I go there only because it's close! I would go to Wegman's or Trader Joe's more often if they were closer. My Friends say go to Market Basket...It's too busy 4me! My main complaint is the lack of customer service! I was in there on Friday and two registers were open with long lines and the self checkout line was long. Although most of the employees are really nice, S&S does not have the same culture as Wegman's and Trader Joe's. In both stores, several registers are open ,if you ask a question, you can find someone and they are SUPER FRIENDLY and appreciate their customers. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Double charged my senior citizen mother for her food order. Charged her on her credit card once for her order and said it did not go through and that they put it in as cash. Took her to another register and charged her again as cash even though they already charged her credit card for the order. A simple look at the receipt would have solved this issue. My mother is 78 years old and not able to see well or figure out how to even use her card properly. My mother has called and been to the store multiple times this week and the manager and workers are giving her the run around and not refunding her for the double charge. Terrible customer service! We will be going through this with my mother's credit card now so she can receive her refund. I work customer service and I can say this is one of the worst customer service incidents I have ever encountered. Be careful shopping here! read more

Around 1:30/2:00pm on October 19th a blonde hair woman running the self checkout lane was shouting aggressively as customers. The way she was speaking was very angry,frightening and made myself and the other customers feel super uncomfortable. I was looking @ the other peoples faces and you can tell the way she was speaking was making them feel uncomfortable. You can tell this blonde hair staff member is taking her anger out on other people. As a loyal customer of 5 years I will no longer be going to this location. I will be going to Market Basket instead. I also will be telling my friends to avoid this Stop and Shop location as well. So you are probably wondering why I gave this more than 1 star. I've shopped at this location since moving to Revere last year back in April. I go weekly to this location because it's the closest to where I live: Pricing wise, they are less expensive then Wegmans over in Medford but still more expensive then Market Basket - it'd be fair to say that its fairly in the middle of the road. They will have most dry goods you are looking for and have an organic/healthy aisle which is cool. I'd say where this location lacks most, is the meat section, the seafood section, and the vegetable selection. The meats are just slim pickings, covid aside. You won't find a lot of pre-marinated meats from their team. Most things are reasonably priced. Not a wide selection of beef or pork available. Vegetables, they will have most of what you need. If you come too late in the day, expect to not get everything you need. Fruits need improvement, strawberries and blueberries (etc) always look at the end of their life. Seafood section smells pretty bad (never experienced this at wegmans in medford, or any other stop and shop location). If you live locally, I'd still recommend coming to this location because of the convenience. If you have other options, or don't mind driving further, you can find better elsewhere. read more

If you have a problem there really is no place for recourse. They only make you think there is. It's all about political correctness and image. To hell with those damn customers. I can no longer shop here. They lie to their customers. I really like Spanish peanuts. I have been buying them from this store for a few years. A few weeks ago, i discovered the bag filled with raw Virginia peanuts. I complained to the manager. He told me he would address it with the distributor. Today, I discovered the same thing. I went back to the same manager and he told me that he had been told to tell me that they were just lightly roasted. I told him that was a lie, as Spanish peanuts have a completely different taste and he said that was what he had been told to say. Please, please, PLEASE train your baggers better. Today was probably the 10th time that I have gotten home to realize that the bagger had bagged raw meats with my produce. This happens almost every time, sometimes even when I ask them to keep it separate. Today I had a whole chicken, cans of tuna and carrots in a bag. This is unacceptable. If it is store policy that employees bag out products, they need some training as to what kinds of things can be put in the same bag.n This isn't a matter of preference, this is a matter of safety. My relationship with this store is totally love-hate, hit or miss. I like this Stop & Shop for its location, navigability, and the fact it's not the East Boston Shaw's. You see in Eastie, we have four choices for groceries: the nearest Latin market, the Shaws (barf) in Central Square, the Market Basket in Chelsea (traffic hell and too damn big) or for those of us with cars, the Stop & Shop. A lot sucks about this place, my biggest gripe is their inventory control. They are always out of one thing you want, usually in produce. Honestly, there's nothing worse (grocery-wise, plenty is worse in life, like malaria, famine, etc. but I digress) when you go to the grocery to make something specific and they are out of something like fresh basil, scallions, or what have you. A store this size should have a much better produce selection. They may have 20 kinds of apples, but if you want a white onion it's luck-of-the-draw. Moreover, there's nothing logical about the produce area's layout. The produce quality often leaves a lot to be desired. I don't think I've seen an edible green bell pepper there in months. The meat selection's another challenge. How does a store this size run out of ground beef? Or chicken breasts? Maybe they have some out back, but you'd never know because finding a human being to help you here can be nearly impossible. The deli is OK, at least they have the automated kiosk that allows your order to be filled while you shop. The meat selection is paltry when compared with Shaws' deli (the one thing I do love about Eastie Shaws where the deli staff and selection is second-to-none), everything is Boar's Head with just a few other brands. What's not so great is the self-check out lines. First off, they seem to attract people who are too stupid to use them. Second, they are often broken or malfunctioning. And if you put more than a couple items on the belt, you get sassed by the computer. Sorry, my choices are scan or bag. It would be ideal to scan first, then bag...but she has to get all uppity about too many items on the belt. Bite me. Nowadays I try to err on getting a human being to check me out. You need to coach the baggers though. They will either put an item or two in separate plastic bags or put a bunch of items that shouldn't go together in one bag. They are pretty haphazard to say the least. And if you are using your own cloth bags to save the environment, remember you get five cents off -- REMIND THEM THOUGH. If you don't tell them, they may not ask. All and all, it wouldn't take much to improve this store and get it back into 3 or 4 star territory. If the management would take that initiative to pay more attention to detail, I could go from love-hate to love again. read more

Is this regarding the newer S&S in Revere's Suffolk Downs area? If yes, I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars for great -- that's because, living in Revere and compared with the city's other S&S's, these all make this new S&S seem like Caesar's freaking Palace. They have everything here, and to me it's worth being more expensive. Plus the clientele they attract seem to be people I don't see elsewhere in Revere, so maybe they bring in newer younger professional residents, customers from Winthrop, dunno.. When I want to feel like I've escaped from Revere, which is often, I'll come here and feel like I'm grocery shopping in Swampscott or Newton. So far, it's always clean and they have one of everything. Love it. read more

I'm getting real tired of how this Stop & Shop tricks people into getting something they believe is a deal that really isn't. The way they place their discount tags make you believe that an item is on sale when in fact it isn't.. it's the items adjacent to the one that is on sale and not the one that is behind the tags! Then a lot of times they'll also have items marked at a price but when you go to the checkout it's a completely different price... and its always a higher price. Obviously in their favor. Yes thats right bitches. Im a fan. Not a fan of their prices though on regular foods. They are cheaper than shaws though. You walk in and instantly greeted by the produce section which always looks fresh. Maybe im wrong though, but maybe not. Also, here, is the bakery and the prepared foods which always look really good. I don't think i have tried anything from there yet but I would like to one day. Also in this area is the Deli, cheese, a salad bar and an olive bar. The olives are a little too expensive at $7.99 /lb but theyre delish. The fish around here too always looks fresh and doesn't smell. The rest of the store is average, as in you know what to expect for food. They have an organic/vegetarian aisle waaaay on the other side of the store which also houses the frozen organic/veg foods as well. Oh and i really despise their self checkout. They never work. I broke 3 of them one night. I scanned my rewards card and then it sorta froze, so i went to another and did the same, and then another! This store has it all! In Revere we are blessed or cursed with THREE Stop & Shop's within city limits, plus three others within a 1 mile radius of the city boundaries. However, if I had to chose a Super Stop & Shop I like in my town, it would be this one, but ONLY because it is brand new. And while we're on the subject, if you like "Stop & Shop" History, come to Revere, we have three, all are different from the other. We have the Mid-1990s Era S&S on VFW Parkway (near Wonderland), a early 2000s Era S&S on Squire Road, and this late-2000s era S&S. While the one on Squire is far closer to me, I tend to come to this one because its next to Target. But my gripes about Stop & Shop are general Stop & Shop ones.. 1. Overpriced 2. Overpriced 3. Produce has gone downhill over the years 4. Overpriced. 5. This is no longer a local, heck even a US-owned company. oh yeah just incase ya missed it. Stop & Shop is overpriced. I just cannot get how much Stop & Shop charges for some things, yet people shop here. I often find it annoying how Stop & Shop jacks up the prices on most commonly used items when they aren't on sale. (Milk is a good one for this). Then make it seem like you're getting a 'deal' when its on sale. And even that sale price is marginal, as many of them are Market Basket's non-sale price. But on the flip side, this store is very clean, well stocked, and overall well run. Most of the employees seem happy, as much as unionized Stop & Shop employees can be. read more

This will be easy. They're over-priced. The pre-cooked hot food is DRY, DRY, DRY. The steamed broccoli looked like it was about to spontaneously combust under the hot lights. Seriously, the meatloaf and chicken wings were barely holding their own against the plasma beams of death emanating from those heat lamps. The quality of service at the bakery counter is on par with the Massachusetts Department of Motor Vehicles circa 1985, or perhaps akin to the customer service available from Comcast. Oh my god, that's it! Stop and Shop is Comcast with bread and milk!!! They should get one star after all my bitching, but I'm in a generous mood this morning, so they will get two. I have enough time to stand in line at one of these to write this review and I have just two items in my basket to pay for. I only stop here out of pure convenience coming from the Beachmont parking after work, but I can't imagine what this place must be like on the weekends. What is with the increasing self-checkout situation and only 2 cashiers open and not a person in sight to bag your groceries? I spend on average 300 to 400 on a visit. Self check out does not work for large orders. And I don't have an hour to check out because I have to wait in line and bag my own groceries! You need more people. The store could also be cleaner. If you can pay for that creepy robot that is always in my way, then pay a couple of humans to do some proper cleaning. All those ventilated cases smell like they haven't been cleaned in years. I already shop at 4 other places, in addition to Stop & Shop, because if they aren't out of something, or I just won't buy certain things there - meat for one. Seafood never. They can lose my business and fix it, or go the way of Shaw's. I don't mind paying extra, I shouldn't have to do their jobs too. I am the customer after all. If you need to pay retail for a prescription do not use Stop and Shop pharmacies. I attempted to fill a veterinarian prescription for my dog. The cost at Shop and Stop 76.00 , The same prescription at Costco 7.00. I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for convenience but $76.00 is insulting. First time Last time. Absolutely terrible produce - I'll buy a tomato today and it'll be moldy tomorrow. Also consistently find expired grocery items; it seems that they don't ever clean out their shelves. That is, if I can find the items I'm looking for...I can't remember the last time they had everything on my list (I'm talking cilantro, not caviar). The only saving grace is the new beer store, which technically is a different entity so they don't get a star for that. I like coming here because I can get some good deals usually when they mark stuff down or with their circular coupons. Lately though, I have been noticing that the items don't ring up as marked at the register. For example, Easter candy was on sale for $1 after Easter and they all rang up full price. When I point it out to the cashier she starts ringing them in as $2.50 each. What? When I bring up the issue she says 'she (the manager?) said they were 50% off". I ended up walking and showing her the price tag. On the other 3 occasions that items didn't ring up, I had to bring my receipt back and ask for an adjustment. On one particular occassion, the girl behind the customer service counter acting like it was my fault things didn't ring up and slammed my receipt on the counter when she was done.
