Today, May 8,2926, I was so impressed with the way S&S employees came to the rescue of an elder shopper suffering a fainting spell. Two S&S women cashiers immediately addressed the woman's needs, held her while she recupperated and stood by until EMS team arrived. Both S&S women employees showed utmost professionalism and kindness to the afflicted shoppper until the victim was able ,with the great heip from Hope Valley Emergency team,got her back home safely. What a tribute to the neighborly care and teamwork from the ladies at S&S!!! I was a very impressed by stander. read more

The worst stop and shop in the state ! They did some cosmetic improvements in shelving but compared to the stop shop in Middletown and East Providence, they lack variety of products, their meats and fish are the worst, am willing to drive to EastGreenwich and spend a bit more money but am assured to get better products .Richmond deserves better!!!! read more

Customer service isn't the best at this location there was an individual that was working at the time of the incident and she was being very rude and toxic towards my mother and I didn't appreciate it!!!!! I like shopping at S&S and really appreciate their updated natural foods section next to the produce, but the prices are still horribly high even though competitors prices have steadily decreased now that things have evened out after the pandemic. Please review your prices. There's no way Shaws and Market Basket should have items that are almost 50% less than what you charge. Keeping your prices gouged at pandemic levels when everyone else has adjusted back down is making you lose faithful customers in droves. read more

I've lived in Richmond for 23 years and this location has always been one of the worst stores in their corporate vanguard. Their honchos know that they are the only game in town for local residents, so they ship all of their outdated, or ripening too quickly produce to this store. The prices are always at least 15% higher than the Shaw's in Wakefield or the Dave's in Wickford. Here's a clue to their purposeful gouging of the residents of Richmond. They built this location a couple of years before I moved to Richmond. They had a location, just on the other side of route 95, in a smaller and older building, which they still own. Aside from a motorcycle shop that opened and closed there well over 15 years ago, the building has sat vacant. And that's what Stop & Shop wants. They'd never lease it out to a competitor, and if they sold it, there's always the possibility that the new owner would lease it to a competitor. And then they'd actually have to be competitive in terms of quality and pricing. I only use this store if I'm in dire need of something or if its not cost effective to drive to either Warwick, Wickford or South Kingstown. read more

definitely could be better ! I placed my first order for pickup. Got multiple email confirmations and texts updating info about the order. Texted 'on my way' when prompted. Couldn't find the pickup area because the signs are buried in shrubbery so I called the store and it was immediately apparent that there was a problem with my order. Someone came out shortly thereafter and notified me that the order had been received and was paid for but had not been fulfilled- for some unknown reason. I had placed the order the previous day and they had a record of it along with verification of payment. How could that happen? There's nothing the store can do to make this right other than refund the cost but it's just one more thing in a long list of alienating things that Stop and Shop does. As others said, prices are very high because they hold the lease on a nearby building that used to house a grocery store so they prevent competition from moving in. I wish a Market Basket would open in the area- Stop and Shop would either step up or go out of business. Personally , I'd go elsewhere in a NY minute. read more

This store is an overpriced dump that specializes in gouging people who don't have other grocery store options, many of whom can ill afford the overinflated prices. PLEASE NOTE THE PHOTOS ADDED HERE BY THE MANAGEMENT ARE NOT THE RICHMOND LOCATION, which is plainly deceptive. This is one of the most profitable locations, yet the infrastructure is OLD, the self check out machines are SO outdated and quirky, you're constantly waiting for the cashier to come and clear an error or hand enter an item. This is all about corporate greed, I feel sorry for the employees, the pressure is squarely on them without adequate corporate support. S&S does noting particularly well, this will eventually be their downfall. read more

I moved here 2 years ago and still go back to Warwick and East Greenwich to shop. I will say that about two weeks before the covid 19 mess I was pleasantly surprised that every time I ran into an employee they asked me if I needed anything. That was refreshing for sure. The bad news.....I'm tired of buying a bag of potatoes just to find rot and when I got home and opened my berries there was mold. I think to save $ they buy nasty outdated produce. I brought home carrots the other day and had to cut 1/4 off the bottom because of rot. How old were they? Also, if you need customer assistance, you need to wait because they don't staff customer assistance. Someone bagging runs to you when/if they see you. Why can Daves and other S&S stores provide fresh produce and not you? I've never gone in there without finding something outdated. read more

Nothing on the shelves, and I mean NOTHING. so why bother even trying to look like the company cares! I overheard a cashier tell an elderly woman rather nastily, that they are getting deliveries every day and they just sell out!! Certain supplies should be set aside for the elderly only. Out dated bread, vegetables, fruits, and berries. Really dirty bathrooms and floors. Products are always moved and not in the right section. I've lived in this area my whole life and I would love to see a Dave's rather than this dump of a shopping center. read more

The Stop & Shop in Richmond, RI used to be a decent place to shop. In the past couple of years they have REALLY slipped. Here are some of my pet peeves: Produce: I tried to buy produce to make a salad this week. There was no fresh romaine, the green bell peppers had severe bruising and areas of rot and the rest of the imported bell peppers (red, yellow) didn't look much better. I had to rethink my dinner plans and chided myself for not stopping at Dave's Market on my way home for good produce (fresher and cheaper in many cases). I won't make that mistake again. Stop & Shops produce seems to get worse every time I shop. Unit Pricing: "Each" is not a unit price - lb, pint, oz, etc. are unit prices. It requires a calculator to compare prices when all the units for a particular item are different. They've also started to put similar items in different parts of the store to make it more difficult to comparison shop by price. For example, different brands of tortilla chips are no longer on the same shelf, some are in the next aisle over. This is true of many items. Sometimes the unit pricing just doesn't make sense. This week I was looking at the price of Cracker Barrel cheeses and even though they were all the same size and price, the unit price was different. I'm very disappointed in this store. Their workers are terrific, but there products are going downhill. I now make every effort to shop elsewhere whenever possible. read more

I shop here only if I have to! The produce is all ripe ready, if you plan on eating it after 3 days from purchasing, forget it! It's bad! Always one or two rotten onions in each bag, much more if it's a two for sale! Fresh herbs are horrible always need to throw some away due to spoilage! But the worst is the deli, having to wait forever for the slowest kids ever behind the counter carrying on conversations w each other and having to stop slicing or opening a package to talk. I want to get in and get out, I was disappointed that I had to wait 15 mins for one pound of cheese yesterday! (I timed it) then it only took me 15 mins to go through every isle. I personally am disgusted by the filth as I enter this store. The vestibule is like walking through someone's garage. A hodge podge mess of items from unappealing food items to firewood greet you as you pass through the doors . Lots of dirt and cob webs everywhere. Then this unwelcoming appearance continues to the area where the shopping carts are stored. Does this store even own a vacuum, bucket and mop. Just because we do not have any competitors like a Daves nearby, should not mean we are required to shop in a pig sty. Come on store manager...lets get your work team together and clean up your mess! read more

Great deli & seafood department, very helpful, no long lines. Always plenty of good prepared food to take home.

This place consistently has out-of-date bread, fruit, cheese, and meat. Bathroom is dirty. Cans are dented. Other locations are better - some others the same. Why cant SnS be consistent? Todays nut bread all were past date. read more
