Today I called the Stop & Shop in Rockville or the Rockville location and asked a simple question and got hung up on. It just didn't work out apparently. But I didn't give up on Stop & Shop! No I didn't. So I called their Pitkin Road supermarket and I got all of the information that I needed very quickly very professionally and was very satisfied. The name brand Pop tarts are over four dollars but you can get the Aldi's version well under $2 for 12-pouch pack. The hot cocoa rolls for the holidays from Pillsbury are stocked here. This store is well stocked and sanitary plus employees are treated nicely while serving your shopping needs. If you don't want to hit up ShopRite for certain products, then Aldi's is a place for you for decent prices on frozen food, bakery items, snack products and more.

Unfortunately, one employee does not treat me with respect (although several others are great). A thin older woman sometimes supervises the self-checkout. I've never found her to be nice, but that isn't the issue. The problem is that in the recent 6 months, she has multiple times asked me questions like she suspects me of shoplifting. It started when one time she saw me buying heirloom tomatoes (which have different colors like red and orangish yellow). She asked me if I put different produce in the same bag; I guess as if I was trying to purchase oranges at a tomatoe's price? I told her no. She said okay, but she clearly didn't believe it. FYI these tomatoes are one of the most expensive they carry, at around $4.5/lb. It wouldn't even make sense to mix them with other produce like oranges. One month later, she saw me buy the same heirloom tomatoes again. She came to me, asked me the same question again, and commented something like "I have never seen orange colored tomatoes." This time, I explained to her, that they are heirloom tomatoes and come with different colors. Recently, I bought two bags of green grapes (same brand) and weighed them together. She came over and asked me if I weighed both of them, since she only saw one itemized green grape. The implication being that I tried to sneak/steal one bag. This is beyond ridiculous. I can't take it any more. I am so done with this store and will never go back again. I do want to mention that the woman Alex who works at the fish stand has been very nice to me and very helpful. She is the reason I put up with the checkout woman for a few more months. However, I cannot take it any more.

So I go down to pick it up.....they said they didn't have an order....so im like no I called it in. A cheese pizza....then I said..... maybe I called the other big y by mistake but didn't have my phone to double check.....the guy who took the order sounded like the person on the phone i spoke to. So when I finally got home and checked the number.....it WAS the Ellington Big Y. So because they were behind they said there wasn't an order put in for the pizza. I'm so tired of this place. When you order a pizza you expect it to be ready when you get there....so I had to wait an additional 20 minutes while people waited to eat for this pizza I ordered. I finally put this in yelp because I have had other issues with customer service here as well....and it's basically very rude individuals who don't want to do their job. The last time I called their seafood department and they told me to HURRY UP AND GET THERE BEFORE THEY CLOSED. Otherwise I would be OUT OF LUCK to get my seafood cooked. Why do they bother to have departments cook or make food if people have to experience this GARBAGE? FROM NOW ON I WILL HAPPILY GO TO ANOTHER TOWN IF I NEED THEOR SERVICES! BUYER BEWARE!

I also shop at the store where you have to put a deposit in for the shopping cart , and while I like it too, the selection is smaller and there are a lot of off-brand products. At ShopRite, I'm always amazed by the variety and quality of what's available. Just last week, I needed coffee and found my favorite Keurig K-Cups. They usually cost $12.99 for an 8-count box at other local stores, but ShopRite had them for $9.99 regular price and only $6.99 on sale. Deals like that really add up. The store is always clean, the bakery is top-notch, and the prices are noticeably better than many other grocery stores in the area. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I wasn't registered for a ShopRite shopper account at the time and couldn't receive the additional discounts. Personally, I think everyone should get the best price automatically. Some other stores even let cashiers scan a store card so customers can still receive sale pricing. That said, I'm registered now and ready to keep a little extra money in my pocketbook. Keep up the great work, ShopRite!

They actually take the time to do meat cutting and respond to the amount of deli you want and the type of deli meats I love per request. There are some cool people who work there to organize shelves and satisfy the customer's needs. There's always something that I want that is in stock especially Doritos Golden Sriracha chips. There's an impressive selection of ice cream. This store rocks solid for the most part! The only disadvantage is that their hot food isn't as good as Big Y's hot food buffets and their food service shops. I seem to love Big Y pizza better than ShopRite.

The pre-made grinders are a weekly go-to for me. The deli offers THE BEST ham salad EVER. The baked goods are also outstanding. The highlight for me, other than the ham salad, is the selection of local farm products. The store is clean and bright.
