Finally, their new A.I. self checkout system is a huge pain. at my most recent visit, the employee watching the self checkouts, had to intervene 3 separate times, including an override at the end where the system thought I was stealing items that I had clearly scanned. Just kept ignoring me while they occasionally glanced over pretending not to see me. There were 3 other people on the meat area where they cut it up. 2 lounging against the door frames and one who appeared to be cleaning everything while the other 2 looked on. Teamwork at its finest. They also saw me and ignored me as well. After a while I asked if there was anyone not busy standing around who could just hand me my order. The guy who was pretending not to see me came over. No apology or thank you. Nothing. Not a word. The cashiers and front end staff are consistently great. Very welcoming and friendly. This was the first time I went in on a Saturday. Not typical of the service I get. I paid 346.00 for my order. Will never go back on a Saturday again. I think your cashiers should probably teach Customer Service skills to your back room. On the way back to NY, I did some grocery shopping here recently. The place was mobbed, especially over the holiday. The produce section is the first section you walk through upon entering the store. This store actually had a decent selection of produce. I've been to other Price Rites where the produce looked picked over. The prices were fairly reasonable for bananas ($0.54/lb, seen it cheaper), lemons, avocados, lettuce, and apples. Orange juice and milk were both $1.99/gallon. Price Rite spaghetti sauce was $0.99/jar, imported Italian pasta was $0.99/lb, dozen large eggs $0.99, and Knorr noodles & sauce $0.94 each (I got this for less at the Schenectady NY store). The Pillsbury cake mix was $0.99 a box. A 10 lb bag of long grain rice is $4.99. Banquet frozen dinners are $0.99 and saw only Pepsi and Price Rite soft drinks in the store. Aisle 6 has a pretty good selection of Goya food and drink products. There were long lines at the checkout which is a sign that many people shop where the bargains are. Major CREDIT CARDS accepted. The police officer who came to my home was so kind & understanding! He & the 911 operator explained to me that there were absolutely no records of any 911 calls coming from Fruit Fair on 12/7/2023, so Fruit Fair also lied to me about calling the police on me. The police academy teaches cops that diabetic shocki mimics drunkenness, so he understood me. He even offered to go to Fruit Fair & educate them. He kept asking me if I was okay over & over again. Amazing officer! Fruit: There are fruit flies swarming the fruit, especially the tomatoes! They lay their eggs inside the fruit. You will be sick if you eat it. They have boxes standing up, so when their freezer breaks, all the food thaws out, slides to the bottom, then refreezes. This malfunction also causes mold.
