This is a review for the floral department- Lisa and Jan. Gotta give these ladies some love as they did a great job with centerpieces for a rehearsal dinner. I had no idea they could do made to order centerpieces until Jan struck up a conversation with me as I was buying a stock bouquet for another event. When it was time for our daughter's rehearsal dinner I gave them a call. The result: very fresh, beautiful centerpieces at less than 1/2 of what I would have paid using the wedding florist. When I was just a girl I fell and scraped my knee. Naturally I whined all day to my ma and pa. After hours my ma come up with an Idea to make me stop crying. My Ma put together my first ever strawberry shortcake and instantly it was like nothing ever happened. Is anybody else sick and tired of the smell of fish hitting you in the face right as you enter? I don't mind seafood, but it's not something you particularly want to smell first thing walking into a store, especially when the seafood station is way in the back of the store. The floors are always sticky here and dirty. They're prepared fruit containers are never fresh and taste terrible. Prices here are absolutely outrageous compared to the other markets in town. Not to mention when you're going close to the dairy section, there's always a high buzzing sound coming from the ceilings that they have not fixed in several years. Once again, I have been to other Stop & Shop locations and other areas, and this one in my opinion continues to not care about the appearance of the store or the fresh freshness of its products. I have said it before, but I am really put off by the stench of seafood right as you walk into this location because none of the other stores have that happening. It's absolutely disgusting. I wish management would actually do something about this instead of letting this continue. I've talked to other people who shop here who are absolutely sick of the way. Overpriced on most things with an occasional arrogant employee. We need a Market Basket!

Overall I'm not a huge fan of the S&S chain. I find them over priced. But there are some products that I can only find there, and they tend to have a great discount produce rack and bakery rack. Customer service here was odd. I used the self serve checkout. The employee assisting was super friendly and helpful, yet at the same time very condescending. This is not my preffered Stop and Shop. The turnpike road location has the salad bar and thats my main driving factor to go there. As it turns out if you purchase Peapod grocery for pick up this is one of the very few S&S locations where you can pick up your groceries. I see why they did that - because no one wants to go inside and deal with their miserable employees! Tip - if you have a S&S card and use it for the gas points, MAKE sure you have it out and ready before they start ringing you up - they'll swipe the "store card" which is the cashier's own personal card and no one seems to even mind or notice. Well I did, and I called out the cashier on it, whom begrudgingly restarted the transaction, and probably cursed me out to her friends and family for a year. But hey those are not your gas points, not to mention if you use your card enough they actually do send you a coupon book 2 times a year or so. UGH. Tip: Mailbox outside to the left entrance. The Check-It hand held scanners are great for a speedy check out experience, IF its working,. and sometimes the app doesn't sync well either,.. but when it works its lovely. I will continue to use the Peapod for pick up but what makes me sick is they don't let the poor person loading your groceries in the freezing cold weather accept any tips!! Half makes me not want to support stop and shop on that alone, but sadly these employees actually have a great attitude. Decent stop and shop. Staff was kinda clueless. People were staring at us and overall gave us an uncomfortable feel. The donut from the bakery was stale and not the best. Would have preferred dunks. Overall good experience no parking issues and no long lines but someone may have quit while we were there. They kinda made a big scene , everyone was uncomfortable. Great place for your standard groceries and very competitve. The manager, whose name illudes my memory, has helped me on several occasions with either competitor pricing or finding something in the store. He's tall with glasses and always friendly, attentitive and impeccably dressed. Lowes Variety of Northborough wins hands down for the meat but for large quantity last minute purchases the meat department here has alway been very helpful. They have the clearance items in the back which sometimes has some great deals. I love that they have cheesecloth for when I cook my Grandma's secret recipe soup (it's with the kitchen utensils). I was disappointed the last tiime I was there because they didn't have the RW Knudsen cranberry juice that I actually need to function, it's sooooo good for you in that cranberry goodness sort of way. They do however have a natural foods section near the frozen foods where I love the Blue Corn chips varieties that they sell. read more

Just got my $9.66 back for the worst roast beef anyone has ever sold me. I do thank them for returning my money. but it's not much fun to be sold a very low quality product and to have to drive back and get my money returned. Other than that, prices are OK as long as you buy sale items. The store has been remodeled, and that has helped. They really need to improve their quality however. This wasn't the first time I've been stuck with a poor quality meat purchase. At best 2 stars read more

Note: this is mostly for the floral department. The floral dept at this S&S location was SO helpful and accommodating. I needed a lot of flowers (12 dozen), on 2 days notice, and they came through, no problems whatsoever. I'd called around to a couple of other area florists, and S&S was more than 1/2 the price, for the same quality. The sales associate was wonderful, she put aside the exact colors and quantities I requested, and let me keep one of the buckets they get their deliveries in (so I wouldn't have to walk out with 5 bags of flowers). The flowers I bought (tulips) were terrific, in perfect condition. The bucket allowed me to trim and keep all the flowers in one spot until I needed them, and in water at that. I've shopped here for groceries as well a couple of times, and the store is big, clean, organized, and well-stocked. I can't say the same about other locations in the area. read more

Not a great experience at the deli counter today. The woman who was staffing that area was cold and very unfriendly. Just not a great experience. If Wegman's sold Boars Head deli meats, I would have no reason to ever go here. read more

This is definitely one of the worst Stop&Shop locations throughout Massachusetts. Out of all of the main supermarkets in the state, my favorites are Stop&Shop, Wegmans and Market Basket. Stop&Shop is the best because it has the largest present throughout the state, and has those cool price scanners. However, if you live in or are looking for a supermarket in Westborough or the surrounding area, make sure to visit the Stop&Shop on Turnpike Road, or Wegmans in Northborough. The Stop&Shop on Lyman Street in Westborough is a complete disaster. The employees are rude, and even worse, the managers don't care about their customers and after numerous calls to corporate, they still are consistently not calling me back. The top manager of the store, Geralyn, feels like it's ok to go on vacation whenever she wants and leave the store with no manager. Assistant manager Bryan doesn't care about the state policies and only goes by what he thinks is right. Store isn't remodeled, and doesn't even compare to any of the other Stop&Shops I've been to. Doesn't compare anywhere near my favorite, local one in Walpole either. Don't ever bother. This is the worst grocery store in Westborough, and possibly the worst in the state. 1 star. read more

Do not bother. Store is understaffed, fresh produce practically goes bad before it gets home. Need fish or meat? Trying to find the butcher or the fish guy? Good luck!. Only 1 or 2 registers open at a time. Best thing that could happen is for this store to close and have a competitor move in. read more
