I Recently discovered that there was a growing rodent problem around my house. I found several tunnels dug around the base of my house. EEEK! I called Stop Bugging Me and was able to set up an appointment quite quickly. They sent Tim out to help. He set up a number of closed outdoor traps and thoroughly checked my basement also. There was no evidence the little rascals had made it into the house thank goodness. He checked back after a week but no takers so checked back in two weeks and caught 5!! After years of being a Stop Bugging Me customer, we are done and can't wait to tell everyone we recommended the same thing. We first used this company almost 6 years ago while we were in our condo and decided to continue with their services in our new house since we had had prior good appointments in our condo. We scheduled time to have a technician come out as we had ants in our pantry and the tech came out and sprayed the inside of the pantry only (nothing else!) and we were charged $334. My husband called back the next day to speak to someone and the office staff indicated that what we paid for should have covered a full house spray, spraying outside and a maintenance follow up (no specific time to use this was indicated). He scheduled a follow-up time for the tech to come back out and spray the exterior of the house and 60 days called back to see when the rest of the house would be able to be sprayed. The office staff insisted that we did not call within 30 days and this information was provided on the invoice (although the copy of the invoice that we have does not state ANY time frame). She also said that the technician when he came back to spray outside (something he was supposed to do the first time) counted as our secondary maintenance visit. The office staff advised that she could only give us a discount to have a tech come back out again. So all in all, we have one sprayed pantry, an unconfirmed visit of a tech to spray outside of our house, and nothing else for a steep $334. My husband informed the office staff that this was not acceptable since we were never told a specific amount of time to use the follow up visit. The office staff transferred us to a black hole of an answering machine which I can already assume we won't get a response since they already have the money. TL;DR: They collect your cc info in advance so they can charge you for services that never occur and then put time constraints on using the services that you already paid for supposedly. Steer clear of this company unless you really like paying for services you'll never get. read more

Subsequent to these services which did not report any carpenter ants present, we found a large infestation of carpenter ants in our porch which could result in structural problems. We had a carpenter and another service replace a beam and treat the infestation. read more

This company is interested in one thing. Your money. From the moment he came to the door all he was interested in is getting paid. Spent forty minutes concerned with that and fifteen doing the job rather poorly in my opinion. I used to spray trees and routinely did the very spray we were having them do. So I feel I am justified in commenting to that effect. They used a little pump up sprayer that maybe had 15 - 25 PSI and did seem to cover everything. We used power sprayers that were like 3 - 400 PSI as I recall. Then they quoted us multiple prices and over charged. This company seems like a borderline scam to me. I would Steer clear. read more

I really wanted to be happy with this company and their services. We were recommended them by friends and decided to go for it to fix a fly and ant problem we have been having that we need taken care of by our daughters graduation party. I called and spoke with Sterling and he assured me our issues would be addressed and put my mind at ease. He stated the tech would go over the plan of attack that day after they sprayed and took a look around the house. The day game of the appointment and when I arrived home from work the tech was outside spraying and I told her I was in a hurry to get inside but looked forward to speaking with her when she was done. My friends arrived a few minutes later and told me the tech had left. I was irritated because she didn't come talk to me and go over a plan like we discussed or say anything at all. I checked my cameras and she was here about 15 minutes! 15 minutes for $152 sounds over priced to me. I was under the assumption so much more would be done but it wasn't. I called the next day and spoke with Sydney and she stated the tech would come out again and do a free spider treatment but we decided it would be best to wait two weeks as she said sometimes the ants come back so we may need another treatment for that as well so I figured it would save them an additional trip. My husband took my outside and showed me this weekend the ant trails and you can actually see the spots where she missed and they are coming through. He was over it and went and spent $40 on ant treatment himself yesterday. Though they are coming out again soon I am still dissatisfied with this service all together. I spoke with Stephanie and just asked for a refund. I honestly would like to sign up with another company and don't believe this to be worth what I paid as it didn't take care of my problem at all nor do I have faith in their services but she said refunds are available. If your considering using them I would look into what they do compared to other companies first. My sister in law said when Orkin comes to her house they even remove cob webs from the eves and spend a good hour at her home doing a quarterly treatment. read more

I would NOT have gone with this company, if I had the choice! As a renter, I don't get much choice, but these guys make a clown college look respectable. They do NOT communicate with tenants! You know, the people who actually LIVE in these units, and can actually DO something! Not about what chemicals they are or are not using, not about what we need to be doing (except a sheet of a few steps to take BEFORE a treatment...nothing about after), and not about WHY, AFTER TWO TREATMENTS, THERE IS STILL AN INFESTATION! Oh, and according to King County Public Health's web site, they aren't actually a Permitted Pest Control Business. 6/17/2011 - Disappointed stopbuggingmenow.com - pest control service for Seattle/WA Disappointed, service is not diligent as advertised. We detected recent rat's signs and dropping in our boiler room and crawlspaces. We purchased their service through Groupon ad as 55% discounted, however in a separate quote without a coupon, the price is the same $179; so coupon was not really needed. The site survey was quick, not thorough as anticipated, something we can do ourselves, poor sanitation care was not taken when traversed through our living area; he claimed dirt+fiberglass from the previous job. AJ, the service man is on the bigger size, we felt bad for him squeezing through the opening of crawlspace and attic. But once he's in, from the same spot, he scanned the dark area with a small hand flashlight and decided it was sufficient to set traps, he didn't crawl through nor to the second crawlspace to survey. 4 traps were set near the crawlspace's opening and 1 in the boiler room, near enough that we can check the traps ourselves. We can see 1 trap was triggered but no catch, 1 trap has no peanut bait. The traps were left for another week and quoted to clean crawlspace and perform regular maintenance with more $$$. We wanted to wait after the initial service with assessment & recommendation. We were on travel for the last couple of weeks, a friend helped us out, the traps removed without any catch. We waited for a report but none was received. We wouldn't recommend this company nor this service. One can set traps, wait & check. It seems the other company's quote perform the same task (set traps & quote for more job). Save your money and get the commercial traps, not the tiny one, set it yourself, and perhaps check out the additional service if you caught any. read more

I used the Groupon coupon for a full service Exclusion visit as I had evidence of rats. (ugh!) The full exclusion visit was supposedly to find all pionts of ingress/egress and close them off, plus other one-time needed treatments. This in anticipation of some work that was going to be done to finish a basement and cover the studs - wanted to make sure i wasn't covering up my problems. Their exclusion review was casual at best, missed several places my contractor found when he was doing some work, and now six months later we saw a rat - what good was it all...?! I also pointed out several ant mounds, one of which was right on the doorstep, about a dozen 10 feet away and another dozen 20 feet away. He only treated the ONE at the doorstop. very disappointed. read more

I've never used Stop Bugging Me, so I can't comment on the service. However, based on their commercials, I would look at several other companies before using SBM. It seems that they are using the trend that sometimes humor and lower production quality can be effective marketing tools. The thing they are missing is that the humor and production must be good. In this case, the script is terrible, the acting is unprofessional, and the whole thing is just plain stupid. If they want to be humorous and on the trendy edge, they should get rid of their sophomoric producer and get someone else. Sure, people are laughing, but not for the reasons SBM wants. I had to call a pest control company after bringing into my garage a piece of furniture that was infested with cockroaches. I am so glad I called Stop Bugging Me!!! I was so impressed with their customer service I had to add my experience to this list. First of all, on the phone Lori was wonderful. She had a calming demeanor and was genuinely caring about me and our situation. I was planning to cancel my appointment because the prep sheet was too involved for me to do from Saturday to Monday. I rescheduled for Wednesday instead after talking to Lori, but then began to worry that all the roaches would have babies Tuesday night! Lori ended up calling me back and said that she wanted to have the tech stop by that day and give me some tips before my appointment on Wednesday! Wow! Thanks! Mark showed up right on time and was so friendly and informative about roaches and the environments they like, habitats they like to live in, what to look for, what to avoid, and so on. He said after an inspection that since we had exposed ourselves to these bugs less than 2 weeks prior, that the traps we had placed were probably sufficient and that he wanted to save us the $200 on a spray if we didn't need it. He gave us some monitor traps and taught us how to place them. Then he even stopped by to follow up a couple days later! I know who I will use and who I will refer everyone to because of the outstanding service I received from Mark and Lori at Stop Bugging Me! There is a lot to be said for a company who earns future business by being ethical with their business practices before they even take a cent from their customers! We have been using Stop Bugging Me Pest Control for about 7 years. They were referred to us by another customer. We have been extremely happy with this company and the employees who work for them. They take their time to make sure all the bases are covered that we want sprayed. They have even found problems, i.e. hornet nests that we did not know we had and will spray them at no extra charge. Tim was out this last time to spray for us, inside and out, and I would highly recommend him. I feel so fortunate to have contacted and found this company! We had to treat blood sucking bed bugs - yes, my husband travels and brought them home from a trip. You can imagine the stress our family was under, however, Jean was amazing with her comforting and very compassionate customer service! I called probably 3 times within one day and each time either Jean or Adam's tone was very patient with my distress. Adam was great too! They both took the time to explain bed bugs and answer any of my fears/questions. You can't get better customer service - would always answer the phone and send e-mails for appointment confirmation. I found this company to be forthright in their assessment for treating bed bugs. Jean made available and referred me to Pioneer dog service where the dog can snuff out bed bugs, which we used. Dogs don't lie and targeted the two rooms where I was getting bit from the bugs. Stop Bugging Me followed through by treating only the two rooms and didn't deceive us by telling us the whole house had to be treated. My husband didn't even want to hire a pecticide company, because of the fear that they would want to treat the whole house unnecessarily. He was very pleased with their approach in working as a team with another company (the dog service) and gained Stop Bugging Me's trust. The technicians were very friendly too! AJ, Brandon, and Kevin. I appreciate Kevin double checking my son's room on a second visit to our home (no charge) to make sure that he didn't have bed bugs. Turned out they were carpet beattles from the after affects of spraying in the guest room, which is a natural occurrence. Kevin took the time to thoroughly explain carpet beattles and remedies for dealing with bed bugs. He was extremely personable and knowledgable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this company to you for the BEST customer service, professionalism, knowledge, and follow-through. They answered all my questions on the phone and gave me an appt. 3 days out in order to leave a good amount of time because I wanted (and got) a thorough inspection of my old and "holey" house. They were very helpful in explaining what the ants are looking for and doing, and the necessary repeat treatments. We have them come out every 3 months. The did the heat treatment followed by chemical treatment a week after. Bed bugs returned two months later but we have been experiencing their bites a month after treatment. I have mite problem. You can not see the mites. When the kid arrived to investigate my problem, he had no idea why he was there. He had no equipment to take samples. I gave him some tape which I thought would have samples. When I offered to give him my travel bag which I know had mites on it, he refused, because it would bring the problem to his office. A week later I called to find out what had happen. I was told they didn't see anything. IMHO I don't even think they looked at my samples, as he put them in a trash bag when he left my place. read more

The services provided did not resolve the issues and the sale techs are unprofessional, late and need assistant doing their job that does not result in effective services in which they were call out numerous times. Rental properties should take note of resident complaints and understand that not all properties have ants, silverfish, wolf spider and that proper maintenance of units could prolong the life of each unit. I would rate "Stop Bugging Me Pest Control" less then a one star based on product and unprofessional staff. read more

They came in to treat my college dorm room which was infested with bed bugs (the infestation was present before I moved into the dorm, just in case you were wondering). They inspected the room 3 times visually before they every "found" evidence of bed bugs (even though I had seen the bugs in the room multiple times). After finally agreeing to treat, they came in and treated once, and it was ineffective. I reported more bug activity, and they came in and inspected and "found" "nothing." This process of treating and "inspecting" happened three times. The last inspection was this afternoon. They "inspected" our room, said they found no evidence of bugs. I went in and the first thing I saw was a bed bug sitting on one of the beds in the room. They do not do a thorough job at all, and I would not recommend them in a situation regarding bed bugs. Unfortunately, living in a UW dorm, I had no say in who came and treated the room, but if you do have a choice in it, avoid this company. read more

I have been dealing with rats in my attic. I had another company come out, confirm rat activity, left traps and an estimate for $2,817.54 to fix the problem with no follow-up. THANKFULLY, I called Stop Bugging Me Pest Control. On their first visit they removed 5 dead rats, set traps and inspected possible entry points. They followed up in 7 days, removed another dead rat and were able to seal a visibly active entry point along with a second location. In 7-10 days they are scheduled for a 3rd follow-up visit to check the traps and inspect the sealed entry points. ALL of this wonderful, professional service for under $300 dollars!! The techs were on time, polite and very informative. I appreciate the professional service and the follow-up visits. I found my pest control company. Hopefully, I won't have to use them again but if I do, I'm confident they will handle the situation. I highly recommend the team at Stop Bugging Me. read more

I'm so annoyed right now. I live in an apartment complex and received a notice about 2 weeks ago that there was to be a "canine inspection" in my unit. I called Jada at their offices, who could not provide me with any information, or even tell me what a canine inspection was. After googling it, I learned that a canine inspection involved a dog coming in and sniffing out my apartment for bed bugs (thanks Jada). I acted in accordance to the flyer, which instructed me to move my bed out from my wall, vacuum, and to make sure that there were no animals in the house. I have a skittish cat (and a job) so being available at the apartment during the 9-10 am time slot was obnoxious, not to mention the whole part where I had to put my angry cat in her carrier and move my room all around. I waited all morning, 9, 10, 10:30...nobody came. I called Jada, the least helpful person ever, and she explained to me that she "didn't have access to the work schedule" and that I should just "expect the crew to be there during the appointed time." YOU WORK AT THE FRONT OFFICE. THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO WANT TO KNOW, JADA. All in all, I lost hours at work, I was inconvenienced and I had to endure one of the most aggravating customer service experiences of my life. I'm sure these people are the cheapest around or something, because I don't know how else they would even function as a business. I didn't ask for this service, this was just mandated by my apartment, but if you're someone looking to actually pay someone for a pest service, I would never ever ever ever recommend this company read more
