The space you get is spectacular, no big frills but all of the little very important things. In 3 years, I've never had a single problem with my storage, through storms, snow and heat waves. The manager is personal and friendly, there right away when you need help and never to be seen when you just want to take a bunch of stuff to your storage unit in the middle of the night. The prices are exceptional for what you get and you get a guaranteed price forever as long as you stay. If you're a competitor (I've used many), please call the person who runs this and offer them as much money as it takes to learn how to correctly run this type of business.

The gentleman that assisted us were very welcoming and friendly and they had a great promotion for a 5x10 storage for $49 a month so we took it! Also, we had our u-haul trailer that needed to get dropped off at another location, but we were able to drop it off at Storage Max which saved us time and made it so much easier! I highly recommend to come here, great service and great staff :)

My experience with Public Storage in Austin has been unbelievably frustrating…read more I rented a unit approximately 24 hours before my scheduled move-in. The manager called me personally, confirmed the rental, provided my access codes, and gave me my unit number. Everything appeared to be ready. When I arrived with my movers, I discovered I could not access my unit because the elevator access had been programmed for the wrong floor. This should have been a simple issue to correct. Unfortunately, there was no one on-site to help. I called the Public Storage customer service number repeatedly--at least 5 to 7 times--and left multiple urgent requests for a callback. Despite explaining that I had movers on-site and was unable to access the unit I had rented, no one responded. More than 24 hours later, I still had not heard from anyone. As a result, I was unable to move into the unit I had already paid for, while my movers stood idle at approximately $200 per hour. What should have been a routine move-in became an expensive and completely avoidable disaster. The most disappointing part wasn't the original mistake. Mistakes happen. It was the complete lack of support afterward. If someone had simply answered the phone or returned a call, the situation likely could have been resolved quickly. My takeaway is this: Public Storage was extremely responsive when I was renting the unit. Once they had my money and a problem arose, I was effectively on my own. I would strongly caution anyone considering this location to understand that there may be no on-site staff available when you need immediate assistance. If something goes wrong on move-in day, you may find yourself unable to access your unit and unable to reach anyone who can help. That's not a risk I would take again.
