We Ubered from the terminal to the hotel which was fast and easy. On the way back to the airport in the morning we took the free shuttle. There are 2 shuttles: one shuttle for Terminal A and another shuttle for the other terminals. Our shuttle for Terminal A was 9 minutes late and the other shuttle was 5 minutes late so be prepared so you're not cutting it too close! They have a website and monitor at the hotel where you can track the location of the shuttle. The rooms were outstanding and clean! We stayed on the 8th floor and I was highly impressed with the soundproofing in that I could hear almost zero airport and street noise. That was awesome! Unfortunately the sound proofing the other side of the room facing the hallway was bad and I could hear the housekeeping staff starting at 8am being super loud. We ate in the lobby restaurant having dinner at 10:15pm so it's nice they were open late and the food was good. Overall this hotel was a convenient and nice place to stay super close to Newark Intl Airport!

I did have a refrigerator in my room, but a friend had to request one. While I was here, I reported standing water in the tub while in use twice. While the engineers were called, I gave up after the 3 time with standing water (so much eww). I also had the space above the tub start leaking - they fixed it the very next day, and removed $50 that night for my trouble (I declined to move, as I was there for a week, and had a lot of stuff.) No adjustments were made for the standing water. There were a few very lovely people staffing the hotel, including the shuttle drivers (5 stars there!) but also a few that were less lovely. When we went down to breakfast the first time (no free breakfast here), although the sign said to "please seat yourself," when our group attempted to do so, we were stopped, sent back to the front, only to be sat 7 minutes later at the exact table we tried to sit at. It was an experience for sure, but one I'm not eager to repeat.

We had…read moreto circle around in the air for about an hour because there was a line of planes down below in the way of where we were supposed to land. This caused our 3 hour layover to our connecting flight to become a 30 minute layover. It was absolutely ridiculous...how are we supposed to go through immigration, grab our checked luggage, and recheck it in. All to take a train and then bus back to the front of the airport. To go through airport security all over again. Mind you we had to run to our gate since it was the last gate of course. This was just a crazy experience to go through. There should be more organization for individuals who are trying to get to a connecting flight. Maybe another line that specifically says connecting flight, in order for the process to be sped up. All of that to get to our gate and find out that boarding was delayed.... Once we got to FLL airport, we went to get our checked luggage to find out that my friend's duffle bag was as still in Newark. Mind you her bag was the first to be placed to get checked back in. Luckily they shipped it the next day to her house. But she should've received her bag right after deplaning just like the rest of us. I'm disappointed but relieved that my friend received her duffle bag in one piece.

When I reached out to explain the circumstances, I was met with genuine compassion, understanding, and professionalism. Wendy took the time to review my situation, listen to my concerns, and offer a solution that truly helped my family during a stressful time. Despite my credit having expired, she treated me with kindness and empathy and worked to provide relief when I needed it most. In a world where customer service often feels transactional, this experience was a reminder that exceptional people still make a difference. I am incredibly grateful for the support, flexibility, and care that was shown to me and my family. Thank you, Wendy, for your compassion and outstanding customer service. Calling during business hours? FIRST OFF, Let me just say that I tried using the redbin phone application. That too is a piece of crap. Actually from DAY ONE it's been a piece of crap. I totally have the email to prove that and that it was to be up and running in a few days. That was Nov 2016. We are now in May 2017!!! It's still a piece of crap. So I should call during business hours? Are you f'ing kidding me? That is just Genius! Ummmm, I DID. REPEATEDLY! Maybe you conveniently didn't get that memo like my emails requesting my items. YOUR VOICE MAIL/PHONE SYSTEM WAS MOT WORKING PROPERLY! IT CONTINUED TO HANG UP WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE MY MESSAGE! TRUST ME, I tried! Luckily IN THE MIDSLE OF MY MADNESS, or not so luckily because no one EVER returned the call anyway, I was able to get ONE VOICE MAIL IN REQUESTING A CALL BACK AND THAT I WANTED ALL MY ITEAMS. Clearly you are under staffed. I also learned you were overbooked AND OVERWHELMED moving collage students ALL OVER BROOKLYN at this time but, that's not my problem. I paid you for a service that was suppose to make my life less stressful. Certainly not a great big headache and incapable of handling the demands. SoOOOOOOoo, please do not attempt to make me the bad guy here because I can easily POST A PRINT OUT OF all my call logs and emails to prove my yelp post Is an accurate review of REDBIN's services!

I was denied extra pillows despite explaining it was due to a medical need (something I've never been denied at any Hilton property before). The room's AC unit was extremely loud, constantly turning on and off throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. When I called the front desk, I was told they were at capacity and there was no one available to address it. The most concerning issue was the airport shuttle. It was overbooked by the hotel, and I was actually asked to let another guest sit in my lap during transport. That's not just uncomfortable--it's unsafe and completely unacceptable. When I contacted the hotel manager afterward to request a refund under Hampton's satisfaction guarantee, I was dismissed, told to "get over it," and the call was ended. I've stayed at Hampton Inns for years and have always had good experiences, which made this especially disappointing. Issues can happen anywhere, but the lack of resolution and professionalism here was the bigger problem.

Pros: The hotel itself is pretty good. My first time using digital key and I loved it. The hotel…read moreroom was clean and had a good floor plan. I loved that I could slide a barn door to close in the bedroom if needed. My room was close to elevator and the clean supply room so I was a little worried about outside noise. Although I only stayed over on a Monday night even without ever closing the bedroom door it was very quiet. I had a small issue with somehow dropping my phone down into the ice machine (horror) but maintenance was very responsive and quickly got it back for me. Housekeeping was very friendly. Front desk was ok, although I feel like they could have anticipated or understood my question better when I asked about hotel shuttle. They have a sign stating where the shuttle picks up. I asked about it but they just said that it was coreect, so then I made an an attempt to find the location on the sign. When I got back to the elevator and realized it didnt go down or anywhere that might be a level cars would park or etc. I went back and asked where to find the location. They said it was where the shuttle picked up at the airport. Then is said where does it pick up here. They asked when did I need it. I said now. They said ok they would add me to a list. So #1. Why would someone checking out of the hotel need to know where the airport shuttle picks up passengers at the airport. And even if that is useful information, shouldn't it also inform where or what is needed in order to get picked up at hotel. Specifically this would seem important if the check in line was long. #2 He never answered my question about where the shuttle picks up at hotel. Once i realized the shuttle sign was useless, I assumed it picked up outside the doors and it did but this entire exchange made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. Cons: breakfast had no flavor. I'm not expecting a lot from a free breakfast but usually the flavorless eggs have cheese or something you can add to the top to give it a little something. The vanilla pancake topped with whip cream and strawberries was ok but again very little flavor. Plus not something I could eat had I been on a hurry or had an early flight out. Other Hampton breakfasts do a little better job. Maybe Monday's are just not busy enough to warrant more.

Things generally run smoothly with things with TSA depending on the airlines and I can say the same for most everything here and usually no complaints it's just a larger airport. This time around I flew Delta and for me I'm grateful everything went smoothly even with such a short distance Gainsville to Jersey with one layover sometimes this can be frustrating but all is well and they know what they are doing. You are not going to get any personal attention like you do at the smaller airports. Newark is large and always very crowded I actually prefer Atlanta but I never spend much time in either thankfully. On my return home at Newark my flight again was on time and everything at the airport went ok. It's always a lot of chaos and I noticed that there was a lot going on from a major multi year construction as part of a massive regional modernization framework being done. All of this has made moving around a little bit more challenging in certain areas of the airport. Some of the active projects include a 3.5 billion replacement of the AirTrain system and initial upgrades for a 200 million dollar overhaul of terminal B and ongoing airfield and radar enhancements. This definitely made it a little more difficult for me as well to navigate through where I needed to go. Still grateful that Newark is only 20 minutes from my son and daughter in laws.
