Website photos do not match the rooms at all. Jacuzzi tub I ran three times and was still getting funky crap out of it. Very rude staff at the front Gabe. Supposed to be the manager of this place but talks to people like they are stupid. Night manager asked me if I needed a room when I handed her $10 for quarters. So I assume rooms can be rented by the hour here. If you're tight on cash and need a place to stay...sure give them your business. I would only recommend in a crunch though. We were moved and our first room had a huge hole in the mattress but that jacuzzi tub wasn't nearly as nasty. Rain some bleach through it and cleaner. Shouldn't have to clean a room when you check in. read more

It has been almost a year since I had the misfortune to visit this God forsaken MOTEL (not Hotel). I was mistreated as a person with a Disability so poorly,the second I can find the energy to play in the mud,I am file legal papers to sue and launch a complaint with the ADA.. I gave it ZERO out of 5 stars,with Shrek I don't think that number is going anywhere North. There is NOTHING they can do to improve but shut down unless Shrek steps down as Con-ager. read more

I would have loved to have stayed here, but alas... I booked my stay weeks, if not months ahead of my trip, on hotels.com. I requested an accessible room. I paid in advance. Less than a week before my trip, I received a very poorly written message from The Swan, asking if I needed an accessible room. I imagined this message being written by a teenager. This person couldn't even be bothered to write out "you." There wasn't any punctuation. It was like trying to decode a secret message. When I confirmed that I would, indeed, need an accessible room, I was told that I would have to pay more because all the accessible rooms were in a different part of the hotel. Uh, no, this is where a decent hotel manager would just comp the upgrade, as the listing on hotels.com clearly indicated that the room I paid for was accessible. I contacted hotels.com and one of their representatives called the Swan, but was absolutely no help whatsoever, telling me that I would have to contact the Swan myself. After the major changes to hotels.com rewards program, this was the last straw for me. I will no longer be using their site. So I called the Swan, and told the manager that while a wheelchair accessible room would be better, I could make do with an average room, as long as my chair would fit through the door. I was told that there weren't any rooms on the first floor, and that the only elevator available was in a different part of the hotel and that I would need a suite. I don't need a suite!! I need a bed and a toilet. Seriously, I wasn't in New Jersey to hang out in a hotel room. I needed a place to sleep and shit after being out all day exploring NYC and going to see Metallica. When I asked how much more it would cost to upgrade to a suite, I was quoted a number which was tolerable, but was told that I couldn't simply pay the difference when I arrived. I was told I would have to cancel my reservation on hotels.com and then call the hotel back and make a new reservation. That he would hold the room for me, and that I wouldn't have to pay until I got to the hotel. Oh for F---'s sake. So I cancelled the reservation on hotels.com and was grateful that there wasn't a charge for that. I got my money back within 24-hours but I sure as hell didn't rebook at the Swan. We stayed at the Super 8 a couple miles away, which had a GREAT spacious room. WILL NOT recommend. read more

We arrived around 2am and went right to sleep. We woke up in a sweat around 6am because the AC wasn't working. I went to take a shower and the overhead shower didn't work. There was mold all over the shower curtain and an infestation of bugs in the bathroom. The hotel floor was soft and sunk in in many areas, possibly due to mold. The towels provided had what looked like shoe marks on them and black dirt streaks. We were not given a refund. I know this hotel isn't fancy. I'm not looking for a place with a free breakfast or hot tub. But, this place was unlivable. This is not a "you get what you pay for" situation. (It was around $100 a night.) The Swan Motel is in violation of multiple health codes and is breaking the law. Of course the manager, Gabriel, did not care and would not refund us for the night when I called the next day. I had booked through Expedia. I advised Expedia to take this listing off of their website and also called the local Health Dept/ Inspector. We spent all morning the following day looking for a place to shower since we weren't able to at the motel. We showered at the Planet Fitness and ended up finding another hotel for the following night. Overall, disgusted and upset by our experience. read more

Well , work brought us again , we could not find any other hotel that can match what we get at the SWAN , so we're back for another week. Since the suite comes with a full kitchen and kitchen table, we are able to get groceries and cook . This is REALLY a home away from home . I'm in the construction business and Iam definitely not the one to take the time to write a letter let alone a review , but I feel that this has been such a good experience for me and my wife I had to put it down on writing ......lol Thank you Omar read more

This motel has to be the most pretentious piece of shit I've ever encountere. It's false advertises renovations. Several of wild color stains on the floor. The water smelled funny like it came through old pipes and to top it all off the check in desk guy was beyond rude. For $150 a night I got my thanksgiving ruined. It was late we were tired of driving, plus my husband was getting frustrated with me and my picky "Hotel Review Habits" So I had to choose this hotel. It was all or nothing. Or the car in that matter. It really wasn't bad. Rooms smelled of cigarettes smoke. But who Don't smoke in em rooms rite? Bed And Sheets were clean. Floor Clean. Wasn't no crack viols under the bed and shit. Wasn't bad. But I rated it 3 Stars because the bathroom had a smell of "HIGH" urination after odor. Like perhaps the house keeping isn't using sufficient Cleaning Supplies. Not to mention the toilet bowl seat was broke. My mom use to say to us as kids When she came in the house with cleaning supplies. "You See The Bleach" Then u Done Know I Reach" That's how we would know it's time to clean the bathroom. read more

Some would say the Swan is a trashy place, some would say it's motel heaven. I'm gonna go right in between there and say I dig the spot. I've actually been coming here since a late teen. Haven't you heard of hotel parties? Well motel parties are better and way more fun. Anyhoo, I love the Swan for what it is. It's a big big space on 1&9 in Linden, can't miss the classic Swan sign. There's about a billion rooms, including suites that can be rented for the night, two nights, or even an extended stay. Those suites are killer! Huge living area with a pull out bed, huge "master bedroom", quaint bathroom and a surprisingly nice and efficient kitchen. The regular rooms are cool as well, but I will say the coolness varies depending on the room. I've had success in the rooms closer to the front and by the bar that is attached to it. Yes, you heard right, there's a bar, specifically Joseph's Pub attached to the hotel's 2nd level. I haven't stopped in yet, usually because we already have the drinks with us, but I'm making that one of my resolutions this year. So there's single and double rooms, smoking and non. The beds are pretty soft and jump-on-able. Like I said before, all the rooms are clean and presented well mostly, but some have chipped paint, maybe a slightly damaged door, smaller than normal bathroom etc. Some though, are perfect. There's a bunch of options to eat, drink and be merry in the area, the closest spots would be Dunkin Donuts, Muscle Maker Grill, the diner next door, McDonalds, Wendy's etc etc...so you won't starve staying here. Did the job. Not excessively nice or cheap but did the job just fine. Nice tv and decent beds and nice shower. Could use some updating but a place of this size it would be very expensive to do. Onsite bar was decent with a very nice and good looking female bartender and tv's. Close to everything you would need. Gas station next door, Diner for b'fast next door, Dunkin Donuts only a 1/4 mi down the road. basic room with 2 dbl beds was around $120 on a thursday night. read more

This is a motor-lodge people. This Motel is safe & clean, family owned & operated. The Swan is located next to a diner but maintains a lounge of its own. The prices for rooms are fair for a motor-lodge in NJ. The Swan also operates a shuttle to Newark Liberty International airport. If you are a cry baby rich poser, go stay in Basking Ridge. I've stayed at the Swan several times. Every time I've been there, some kind of upgrade or improvement is either evident or in progress. The owners are constantly making the place better and better. I live in Cherry Hill but when I need to fly out of Newark for an early morning flight, I like to be close to the airport instead of risk getting stuck on the NJ Turnpike behind an accident (it happened before and never again). The Swan provides free shuttle service to the airport and I park free for a couple days. No cab, no Uber, no parking fee and no stress. read more
