We kept waiting for the notice via email but didn't receive ours until April 28th at which point we were notified our rent was increasing $70.00 per month. We started looking for other storage facilities and then reached out to ask for a price match from RecNation which took a few days for them to respond and then they still weren't going to match the price we had. We then emailed to say we would be moving out before June 1st as the original rental agreement said we had to give 10 days notice. We received an email back saying that as of January 1, 2024, there was a change that a 30 days notice was required. We never received notification of this change. We didn't have time to give them 30 days since we only got our notice 34 days in advance. We feel that RecNation has deceptive business practices. Ironically, we get emails all the time from them about giveaways, must be why they raised their prices so much.

With this in mind I called this facility for my own storage needs to ask about rates and if it might also go up after several months or if the price was reliable long term. At first the woman I spoke seemed very professional and knowledgeable. But she began to give me the run around. Not only do their prices change seasonally, they can't tell you how much a unit will cost more than 10 days in advance because they do dynamic pricing (lots of units available = cheaper). I understand this approach to pricing but it was as if she was doing her very best not to admit it by giving me long, unnecessarily complicated explanations and repeating herself rather than saying it simply, as I just did for this review. I moved on to another question. Is there an option for committing for a longer period of time (ie: 1 year) for a better rate or to guarantee the same price every month? While she mentioned that we are welcome to prepay for a year, she would not directly say if this was or not a possibility to guarantee our rate for any period of time. Then she went back into describing dynamic pricing again. Either she is the worst communicator in the world, or she was trying to avoid having to say, "no, there's no way to guarantee your rent will not go up after you move in. She also alluded to it all comes down to what I might be able to "negotiate with the manager." Sounds like trying to buy a car! I finally gave up when it was clear she was never going to give me a straight answer.

Well, that's because it is. I needed this hitch receiver so that I could use a tray or a bike rack for a myriad of purposes, and at just over $250 to install, this is exactly what I needed. They offer month-to-month pricing options (love the flexibility!), and we got a great storage bay that has super easy access! They have large dollies on site for you to use, which is really handy in not having to truck around your own each time you arrive! Maybe my favorite thing is that they have a large, interior loading/unloading dock that you can pull into so that you can use your space any day - no matter the weather!
