I have been going to Stories for about 2 months now. Cinthya is incredible. Previously I had been getting dip powder for roughly 2 years. I struggled with growing my nails out and they broke easily. Since going to Stories and seeing Cinthya my nails have been so much healthier and I've been able to grow my natural nails out. We've been doing builder gel and IBX nail repair every other appointment. I have definitely seen a marked difference. I've also been able to experience their waterless pedicure. Possibly the best pedicure I've ever had. I highly recommend Stories. The establish is clean, organized and has a calming aesthetic. The staff and owner are kind, wonderful people. read more

I'm writing this review because I gave the salon multiple opportunities to address my concerns directly before deciding to post publicly. I paid approximately $70 for a builder gel overlay manicure. Within just two days, one nail broke. I returned to the salon and they repaired it, explaining that it may have happened because my nails were short. Unfortunately, the problem didn't stop there. By day 12, several nails were lifting and flaking off. In my experience, a builder gel overlay should last significantly longer than that, especially at this price point. I returned to the salon before the two-week mark. Because they were busy, I told them I was fine with receiving a regular gel manicure instead of having the builder gel completely redone. I fully expected to pay something for the service, but I was surprised when I was charged full price despite the original builder gel overlay failing in less than two weeks. I didn't want to make a scene or put staff in an uncomfortable position, so I paid and tipped as usual. However, after I got home, I submitted a message through the salon's online contact form. I explained my disappointment, acknowledged that I had otherwise been happy with the salon, and stated that I wanted to continue as a customer. I simply felt that charging full price after a premium service failed so quickly was not a fair resolution. The salon never responded. To me, the lack of response was the most disappointing part of the experience. Nail services can occasionally have issues, and I would have been understanding if someone had simply acknowledged my concerns and attempted to make things right. Instead, I paid for a failed builder gel service, paid again for a replacement manicure, and received no follow-up whatsoever. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Stories Salon for nail services. read more

Absolutely amazing. This is the place. I came in with seriously damaged nails and asked for help. We did an IBX treatment and then a Builder Gel manicure. We have a plan to continue to heal my nails with more IBX and careful manicures. I appreciate that they reached out to confirm my appointment and made sure I was getting the appropriate service for my nails as they were. They use non-toxic nail products and even have these air purifiers if they're using a drill on your nails/cuticles. The salon was beautiful and so clean. I loved Cinthya. She was so kind and meticulous. I am so happy to have found Stories. I'm looking forward to my next appointment and highly recommend this non-toxic nail salon to others! read more

THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM!! It feels like they recently opened and they deserve all the hype. My nails have never looked better!! The colors, the shape, everything turned out exactly how I wanted it to look. I got the gelX extensions and I could tell that the nail technician paid so much attention to detail in even the tiniest things! I have also gotten the waterless pedicure, and needless to say that it was a great experience. At first, I was hesitant because I had never gotten one before, but my it left my skin feeling softer and more hydrated in addition to my toes being pretty !! I loved that the place is so clean and everything seemed sanitized and well taken care of. I am definitely coming back again (maybe even trying their other services they offer) as a regular :) read more

Let me start by saying I love amazing customer service. My podiatrist explained to me the importance of caring for my feet properly and that meant being extra cautionary about who and where I got pedicures in the future. She suggested I only get waterless pedicures! I began my quest and several months later I found Stories! Omg I so love this place. Cinthya is my nail tech. She's amazing. Not only is she amazing at her craft, she's also extremely personable. We have the best conversations. The owner is also amazing! Please check them out you will not regret it! read more

I love that this salon uses non-toxic & organic nail products, and are actually gentle with my nails. I've had bad experiences with other salons that made my brittle nails even weaker, but the technicians here actually care about the long term health of your nails! They're also able to do all my favorite korean nail trends (3D art, blush nails, cat-eye nails, etc.) I would definitely recommend to my friends & family. Ask for Ellie! read more

Found my place after like 8 years! I have a nail salon/tech I go to back in LA but it took me so long to find one here. Ellie is patient, attentive, and nice. She shaped my nails perfectly to my preference and we came up with a color pallet I like (I am in this natural/nude faze). I got my tried and true gel mani and pedi. The space is clean and has a relaxing atmosphere (I was the only person there). Overall, great unique place, good location, and excellent service. read more

I love love love LOVE my nails!!! I had Ellie do my toes/nails and she did such an amazing job!!! I asked for a specific design so she tried her best with it but I love it!! The place is super clean and warm, definitely coming back for sure! Cynthia is the other person working there and she is super nice and helpful! Very nice girls and they definitely know what they are doing! If you wanna try something new and local I would recommend coming here! Parking is never an issue and there's tons of nail options to choose from! I got a gel-X extension manicure and a gel pedicure! Price was $175 for reference! Relatively new nail spa+. SUPER clean inside. Staff is kind and gentle. Love the polish options and felt well taken care of when I left. My service was just a tad more $ but DEFINITELY worth it for the experience. I'll definitely be back and look forward to getting a pedi. read more

Stories Spa is an amazing experience! I cant say enough- I had a lash lift and tint that came out beautifully and better than anything I've done before... I had my first waterless manicure and tried the quick dry/low chemical lacquer - its amazing! Gorgeous, super glossy and actually fully cured in 5ish minutes (no IV light) ... and for the grand finale I did the full Platinum Hydrafacial - which included RF (radio frequency) & led treatment, back/neck & décolleté. I can't even say enough about the wonderful ladies here. They've had their shop about a year & are the new kids on the block but they know their stuff & are top professionals with very extensive experience. So happy I found a waterless salon outside of DC. We moved to Howard County recently and I've been searching for a place like this. Ellie was amazing and attentive. I can tell she gets people and pays attention to your needs. I'm pretty basic, I prefer super short nails but I want quality products that are nontoxic. This place has polishes that are 5 free and up (21 free). They also use professional hepa air filters. No soaking tubs people! Not needed and much more hygienic. read more

I treated myself today to a Ch 2 mani and pedi. And it won't be the last time. Don't have time to read my whole novel? Just go ahead and book an appointment asap. This place is going to be booked out and soon. Y'all. This place is magical. I haven't gotten my nails done for years (COVID, then having a baby who is now a toddler). Self-care can be hard for me to make time for, but I'm going to see Barbie tomorrow and it felt anathema to go without hot pink nails. I arrived early, and was welcomed and settled in, Cinthia ended up doing my nails, and she was meticulous. She asked me how I liked them (short and square) and made my preference look like a million bucks. I felt comfortable having space to just read and be quiet during my pedicure, and loved getting to talk with Cinthia during my manicure (she even changed up how she did the first part of my manicure so I could continue to read my book). The whole vibe is calm, soothing, and welcoming. I can't wait to go back. read more

As others have commented, Ellie is the absolute best!! Perhaps more importantly, all of the technicians at Stories are EXCEPTIONAL!!! I've been going to Ellie since before she opened this shop and her work ethic and skillset is unmatched. She was then the lead tech and trainer for that salon and her book was always full weeks in advance. Now that she owns her own salon, the service is incomparable! They really get to know their customers in order to recommend what's best for them. This is a non toxic salon which is a luxurious experience in and of itself. Cynthia is a creative nail artist, Tina is a master aesthetician doing amazing hydrafacials and body treatments, Jane is extremely customer service focused and Ellie is the gifted architect of all of this.
