Zach, their residential sales representative, came out to do an inspection. Zach was friendly and informative. He patiently answered all of our questions and concerns. And after walking our roof (no drone), he reported that our roof was still in good shape with no need to replace it at this time. We have no doubt that other companies would have taken advantage of us expecting to need a new roof. Zach provided photos and took the time to point out areas to watch for. He even added a little silicon caulk around some minor areas. And all of this was a part of the free inspection! My husband and I are truly grateful for our neighbors' recommendation and Valley Ridge's integrity. Promised to call before coming. 3/27 (Su): Did not come during the appointment time block, did not receive any phone call or text about a delay. Contacted them at 2:24 pm because I had to leave the house via text, received a call back within 2 minutes indicating they are running late. I gave them permission to inspect my roof without me at home and they promised will contact me for a report after the inspection. 3/28 (M): Nothing. 3/29 (Tu): Contacted them via text at 10:43 am to check if they have completed the inspection. Did not get back to me until 4:02 pm, I missed the call due to a meeting. Did not leave a message, did not reply to my text on the status. 3/30 (W): Nothing. The only reason I am giving them two stars is because they got back to me very quickly when they missed the appointment time block.

Long version: Scenario - It's a freezing (sub 40 degree) day in North Texas and I'm out of town on a business trip with my wife, son and mother-in-law at our home in Flower Mound. Wife calls and says the heater is not kicking on. She calls an HVAC company who comes by checks the heater in the attic and says, the unit is working however there is a pipe that vents through the roof of the attic that seems clogged or bent, but they don't do those type of repairs and she would need to call a roof company. Frantically, I scour Yelp for a good review and find people glowing about Bret's service and I give him a call. It's late in the day on Friday and when I explain the scenario, he immediately sprung into action and helped us resolve the issue. I'm going to highlight multiple reasons why Bret, owner of Texas Pride Roofing and Fencing will always have my business for roof and fence needs for as long as I live in the DFW metroplex. 1. Promptness - When I called Bret although it was later in the day, he was willing to head to our home and check out the situation, getting to our home in a couple of hours due to the severity of the situation. 2. Honesty - He took photos of the situation and gave a fair assessment of the situation. In this instance he said, "I don't have all of the parts that I need now but I can get you up an running for today, and then come back next week after I'm able to get the parts when I can get to a supply shop" 3. Thorough - He was on the roof, in the attic, and investigating the situation from every angle. Shared photos of his assessment, and was descriptive about what he was doing. 4. Genuine - The first time he came to the house, he hopped on FaceTime to talk to me and make me feel at ease with him at the house with my wife and family. You can look at someone's eyes and know that they are being sincere, that is this guy 100% 5. Follow up - It took him coming to the house a few times to get the situation completed, and I had to ask him for an amount that I owed him. He wanted to make sure that I was satisfied before asking for money. A true stand up guy, good business man, and yes, the roof is fixed, the exhaust pipe repaired, and the heat is working. These are all pictures that Bret provided, the first four (4) showing the problem and the last two (2) showing the repaired duct work and exhaust/vent pipe Although this was not a typical roofing job, Bret went above and beyond to make sure our family was warm and comfortable. Gates roofing called to schedule another appointment with the adjuster so that Gates and Allstate could inspect together, and allstate still denied! The steam was coming out of Jamie's ears at was a very close and shut case of a roof repair! After escalating the case by preparing paperwork to go the Texas Department of Insurance for complaints that included redlining and discrimination, Allstate offered to repair my roof in FULL.
