I join in with the other reviews- I was to have my Screen repaired on December 14 which was about 5 weeks before and then after being told I would have a service man at my house between 2-4, I got a call at 3:30 saying they weren't coming!! Their installation went long. Ok- can you come Tomorrow? Oh no/ have to reschedule service!!! No call from them but I called today and was told February 9 !!!!! I don't know what is going on but I am going to try and reach the CEO Scot Burris. What do you have to do to get good customer service! It didn't take long before that sound doubled the noise. As a side note, I have suffered from PTSD since Vietnam, and if you Want to trigger a flashback get woken up up in the middle of the night in the dark hearing that loud noise As soon as daylight approached and the winds and rain slowed I went outside to see if I could see what was At the bottom of the screen there were two retainers one on each side. That holds the screen to the rails. I waited a few days to call your store. I just felt from the time she answered My call under her breath. she was calling me every name in the book But as polite as she could be she began to explain the process. My name would be on a list she had no idea how long it would that. Because you were taking care of your customers I am not sure if she forgot I was a customer who already spent several thousand dollars with your company. As our conversation continued she was getting less patient with me she then told me I was on a list they would call me and the charge would be 125.00 to come out and she said Goodbye. The product itself is good. The associated service is absolutely horrible. Three times during the installation process Storm Smart employees failed to show up during the four hour appointment timeframe. No call-No show!!! When you call to address the issue you get passed around to different people's voicemails. Their are other companies that offer the same product, I'd try them instead of putting yourself through this painful process for a company that could careless!!! read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. A sales rep who has been with the company for years was not aware of how the company handled rescreening of lanai screens when the screens were required to be removed to access the windows. Re-screening was the only item that needed to be added to the initial quote. The new quote adding the re-screening fee not only included the cost of the re-screening fee but an additional cost of over $1200.00. The permit fee had been increased from $350 to $450 but no itemization for the other $1100.00 dollars increase. What a scam company. Consumer beware. read more

We had a 36' electric roll down hurricane screen installed during the construction of our home in 2022. Storm Smart happened to be the subcontractor for the builder. The quality of the screen and functionality was very good. During hurricane Ian in Sept. 22' we were very impressed and happy we had it. We even referred numerous customers in need of hurricane protection after the storm. However, due to our screen enclosure being destroyed during the storm the lanai roll down was damaged. The screen had only be installed for approx 6-7 months. We contacted Storm Smart in the beginning of Oct. 22' and this is when everything went horribly wrong. We never heard back from anyone for 3-4 months after multiple calls & emails. They finally sent someone out to evaluate the damage and sent a repair quote. We immediately signed and sent back the quote, and again no response, no communication at all. Finally after multiple emails they replied "it will take about 6-7 months to come out and repair." We weren't happy, but understood due to the immense hurricane damage in our area. So we were patient and waited. They came out in the middle of this past July 22'. However even after just installing the screen the previous year, and having the estimator come out, they had the wrong screen cut. Then instead of leaving the screen installed they proceeded to make the situation worse by taking it all apart and leaving it on our pool deck and leaving our trusses and soffit area wide open. So now when we get the gusts of rain and weather it's getting the trusses wet, insulation wet etc. They scheduled a crew to return in just a few weeks, but called us mid day when they were supposed to come back and said their workers didn't show up and they needed to reschedule. This has been since mid July when they decided to make things worse. We are almost at the end of August and we still sit here. We have called multiple times about rescheduling, sent multiple emails, spoke with individuals on the phone telling us supervisors would call back, went to the office and the same thing. Not one person has called or emailed back as we sit here having the open area on the house being compromised to the rain, plus we are in the middle of hurricane season with no protection on top of it. This is ridiculous for such a large supposedly professional company. Their products are very nice but as for their service, communication and professionalism it's some of the worst I've ever seen. It doesn't matter how good their product is if they just install, walk away, and never address any of the service needs of their customers. Plus you can't go anywhere else because they have the sole design on the system we had installed. You can see how they left us in the photos attached. Looking up! Customer service must have become a priority and it is good to see the service match the quality of the product. Called to schedule appointment and now they are taking a deposit which I am fine with, feel it is two sided, for homeowners to stay the track of schedule and for Storm Smart to stay more accountable. I am happy to say that they came the day my appointment was scheduled, gave me 1/2 notice that they were on their way. The technicians were great, explaining the work they were going to do and why, along with more helpful hints at the end of their visit. Let me start by saying we had Storm Smart install our hurricane shutter screens and a hurricane impact window in our master bedroom in August of 2020. Our installer was Brian, he installed all 6 screens by himself and did an incredible job. 2 years later, we were at home riding out Category 5 Hurricane Ian September 28, 2022. We were at home during the storm and we saw the storm rip apart our house. Perspective, our entire pool cage collapsed and flipped onto our roof and then banged for hours flipping up and down in the wind, each time the heavy aluminum poles of our pool cage crashing into our sliders and windows. Hours into the storm it came crashing down from the roof but it would still slam into our sliders and windows the entire storm rest of the storm for hours. More than 12+ hours. These sliders and doors were all protected by the electric roll down hurricane screens. It was terrifying, absolutely terrifying. During the storm my husband kept reminding me the hurricane screens 'are doing what they are supposed to be doing'. Terrifying nonetheless. I was not confident they would hold! Well let me tell you, not one window cracked nor broke. They had damage (chips like car windshields get from a rock) but the screens received the brunt of the impact and prevented worse damage to our home. The screens looked like a T-Rex had tried to claw them BUT not one window shattered! The hurricane impact master bedroom window is the only window that does not have a hurricane screen on it. It did not have one single scratch on it! It was banged all storm long by a solar panel pole from someone else's house that flew onto our home and wrapped onto our electrical wire. It then banged that hurricane impact window all storm long. Not one scratch! Some of our windows were compromised by Hurricane Ian (chips in the glass) but not shattered nor broken. Because of this we decided to replace the 4 compromised windows and the Front Door to hurricane impact windows and a hurricane impact double front door (They will also be protected by the Hurricane Screens that saved them in the first place). We have had a very tough time trying to get the repairs done to our home post Ian that were needed, roof, soffits, fascia, gutters, pool cage, fence, dock and on.... Storm Smart's Curt Randall was our sales guy. He worked up our order in March of 2023 and informed us it would be October 2023 for installation. Jahaira Rodriguez promptly called me to a schedule a partial install since my front door had come in earlier. Erik and Danilso (I'm probably misspelling it) installed it and did a meticulous job on the door, though the work site was pretty messy. They were super polite. They even took care of some requests like I wanted not just the recommended number of longer screws in the frame to house but more than the usual. Erik even repaired a dent the door had from manufacturing and when he got done with it, you could not even tell where the dent had been We had a snafu at the beginning of the install but Paul Richards the Install Manager promptly got involved and worked out a solution so we could begin the project. We appreciated being able to have Paul as a liaison for the install. Much needed and shows that the company cares about the results and your satisfaction. So the door was installed almost two months earlier than the estimated October. Three weeks later Jahaira was calling us again to tell us our windows were in and that we could schedule the install earlier than the October estimate. She scheduled Tom and Mike who promptly called on the day of my install to let us know they were on the way to pick up the doors. Unfortunately there was a snafu with the truck delivery of the windows to the warehouse where the installer picks them up and Tom called to tell us the install was being delayed. Tom kept us informed as did the install Manager, Paul. 2 days later they were able to install and complete the job. Tom and Mike meticulously and efficiently installed 4 windows. Tom made sure to treat our home as his and was very clean about his installation process, they cleaned as they installed as well as cleaned up very neatly after. We really appreciated this as the front door install had been messy. Paul Richards the install manager also came to make sure install was going well and that we didn't have concerns nor questions. We were worried when Storm Smart was sold to a new Owner. But we feel confident they are working on the kinks of growth and they are trying to prioritize customer service. Their phone system is still hard to get through and you have to try multiple times through the prompts and sometimes when you leave a message they do not promptly call back but if you try to call you eventually get someone that will help you. A status update of order monthly would be great. Even if just an email. I compared features from 4 different vendors and found that Storm Smart not only had a very competitive price but had recently redesigned how they install the vertical rails on our type of curtain. Two of the other vendors were offering the older method which had the tendency to tear away under pressure. We had 3 storm catcher screens installed on our lanai. The price was very reasonable and their quote was significantly less than two other companies we contacted. The screens were installed earlier than anticipated and Kyle did a great job. We had to have them adjusted but again, Kyle did a great job. One screen was not working as anticipated but Storm Smart stood behind their product and reputation and fixed the screen and thankfully it was done before Hurricane Milton came through. The screens gave us peace of mind. In fact, we are going to contact them to have a screen stalled in our entryway. I would highly recommend Storm Smart for your home protection needs. read more

I am a Storm Smart customer and had storm shutters and storm catcher screens installed. In less than 3 years one of the motorized storm catcher screens is not working properly. I contacted Storm Smart and requested a repair service call. Not a come and see estimate! The attendant said they do not schedule repairs. Their policy is to come and prepare an estimate which costs $130. The $130 is not deductible from the cost of the job, Unbelievable I offered to send them a video of the malfunction but that was not acceptable. Had our electric storm shades put in last year. Install was great. The problem started when Ian hit. The screens tore as a piece of metal sliced one of the screens during the storm. I called the day after Ian to let them know. Three months later we're still waiting on repair. They are "a few more months out". Obviously they are still doing brand new installs, but don't have enough crews to do the repair work. Very disappointing. Then, one of the motors on another screen broke. Been waiting a month for that repair to get done. They tried to tell me it wasn't covered under my one year warranty, which was incorrect. Just know these screens are not as fool proof as they say....and if you ever need repairs, you'll be waiting a few months. read more

Horrible company to deal with. My salesman Ryan was excellent but that's where it stopped. I had my large lanai installed with electric roll downs about a month before Ian. My home is brand new. These didn't last one hour during the storm before falling apart, metal from the base flying, taking out all of my fans, screens flying and flapping, metal hitting my hurricane sliding doors, scratching them and destroying the stucco. I've had others come to assess and found no tap con fasteners (sorry if I don't use the perfect words, I'm not in construction) on the stucco column where it broke loose. The shutters failed because there were no fasteners and the ones on the bottom, which flew apart, didn't go deep enough to hold on. None of the tap cons they could see were long enough. The company wanted to replace, I said no way, they dont work! Extremely difficult to get in touch with until my salesman stepped up, thankfully. They told me they'd remove and refund my money but would NOT fix all the damage. Set to uninstall yesterday, they were a no-show. Called one of the contacts, Matt, 2x so far, not a peep. Wrote them all again and if it's not going to happen MY way (and they ARE going to repair now), then I'll take legal action. See pics, hopefully I can post them all. read more

we installed three stormsmart shutters. after they were installed, the material shrank and the shutters did not come down. it took stormsmart three visits (they said they measured incorrectly) and approx 7 months to fix (we had to go through hurricane season without protection). And now, 19 months later, we get a bill which we never expected nor was discussed with the salesperson (we thought it was under warranty). after talking with the "bill collector" he said the dark blinds shrink all the time. My experience with Storm Smart has not been good. Their customer service is probably the worst I've experienced. They don't adhere to their appointment schedules, never call to notify you that they are running late. Often they don't answer the phone and you have to leave a message, and they never call you back. They installed hurricane shutters for me in 2018 and one of the shutters did not close properly. They tried to jury-rig it to make it work. They shaved off some of the hole. However this did not address the problem of it being extremely hard to close and open. I scheduled a service call to have it fixed and it was scheduled for 8:00-10:00 today, it is now, 10:45 and I haven't heard from anyone. I have called 4 times and spoke to several different people who told me someone would call me back. That hasn't happened.. I would NOT recommend Storm Smart..... read more

Very poor customer service, installation was fine originally. Many call backs for adjustments and repairs. Now warranty is out and they had to order a new screen been waiting since August not due until January of 2024. They now want labor charges to install their defective screen. Last week a motor quit called on 11/15/23 today still no call back. Customer Service is nonexistent. The only reason they get a one is because there are no ZEROS! Suggest you shop around if looking for service once installed, and something fails. read more

If you like communication from a company you've hired, don't go with Storm Smart. I signed a contract on August 10, 2023. Just finished about 6 months later. Contract estimated installation starting October 16. I heard nothiing from them. I emailed, called, left messages, even went to Home Depot kiosk where they sell. I finally got through and it appeared they forgot about me. I received a call in December saying they would be installed. Afterwards, they had to be inspected. After 5 weeks I called to ask when that would be. Again, appeared they forgot about me. After my call, they were inspected the next week. After inspection they needed to be trimmed. I heard nothing so finally called. They were finished a couple weeks later. Have no problem with the product, but their customer service seems atrocious. read more

I had hurricane windows and a sliding door installed in April of 2022. the only problem was the sliding door did not come with a screen which I need because it opens directly to the outside. They said they would come back with the right frame with a screen soon. Well, they just came back today almost 11 Months later with the wrong color frame this time. When I requested they not come back. I'd deal with it myself. Their customer relations man offered me 10 percent off what I owed them witch would have come to about $750. It has been almost a year since we ordered. 1st scheduled in July, they had ti reschedule due to installer personal issue. They came and measured 4 times. They came out this week took the existing storm shutters down and my soffits. Ended up the new part is too small, so we are without hurricane protection this hurricane season with no response on rescheduling but that they are somewhere around 12 weeks out. Not to mention they left the soffits laying on my Lanai. I have called them numerous times to no avail. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. read more

I just used Storm smart for my Lanai hurricane shades. The install crew was excellent and very clean and polite. Installation went perfect. I then used Storm smart for all new hurricane windows. Again there install crew were excellent and very clean. The install went perfect going to use then again for the sliders.
