in for AC work on recommendation except they've moved to a new location since carl had his car in and now it's that much closer to work. neat! so I stopped on the way home and made arrangements to have the air serviced the following day. we got back with the gold car in time to hand over the keys as they were locking up, exchanged pleasantries, and said good night. got a phone call the following morning saying they couldn't find a leak but there must be one since it took a bunch of refrigerant. did the money-for-services exchange and the air blows a bit cooler now plus there's a colorant going roundy-round what ought to show up around the icky part(s) sooner rather than never unless the AC just fixes itself in which case I'm going to have them take a look at my house next ;-) this place still has the new shop smell (plus popcorn) and I don't know if it's had enough time to get seriously mucked up yet but clean is clean... so it's a couple days later and the air is still conditioned so now we sits and waits :-) read more

Terrible service. Charged outrageous amount to press 4 ball joints. I'm ashamed to admit what I paid. Pressed them in backward then refused to admit their mistake and correct the issue. Terrible service. Tires and an alignment and it still pulls to the right and is wearing the tire. Then had a blow out so went back and gave them a second chance. Could not even get that right and they put the wrong tire on. So I had to go back again. They were just full of excuses rather then owning up to doing a poor job. read more

Theives my daughter in college went in to get an oil change and was told she needed a new oil pan because the last person messed it up lol. so they asked for $535 to replace. A Chevy Sonic 2015 oil pan if it was indeed needing replaced cost between $30-80. read more

Best kept secret in town ( new customer) Went in for oil change. I knew my brakes were squawking but did not say anything! 2016 Jeep kept up to date but with my travels have not made time. My appoint was 9:30am but went in early. awesome waiting room fresh coffee/ cold drinks/fresh popcorn/ very comfortable area with tv also. My car was taken immediately and was ready soon as I was getting ready to check out they suggested I needed break pads soon. What the heck they caught me. Yes please fix! I would like to start by giving you some of my background information. I'm a Vietnam veteran with PTSD and a major anxiety disorder. I turned 68 years old in 2019. At this point I had the means to pursue a dream I've had for over 20 years. This dream was to purchase a classic vehicle to restore with my own design. I of course needed to get it checked out mechanically. This is when I approached STR because a friend had told me they did good work. I unfortunately didn't have the same experience as my friend. There were a few things that they did correctly. 1. Installed a digital Instrument cluster replacing analog gauges. 2. Had transmission sent out to get rebuilt. The work they did poorly on is as followed. 1. Major oil leak for the oil pan. This issue caused to me to return 5 times and still no resolution. I would also like to add that when they sent me home the last time, they sent me over 2 quarts of oil low. 2. Rebuild engine problems and other issues. a. Difficulty starting: It kept sputtering and dying on me even after it warmed up. It was completely unpredictable. It happened often (at least 5 times) while merging into oncoming traffic, almost causing accidents each time. b. Oil Leak: On March 12th I parked my truck as it still had the oil leak which was a fire hazard. Again, stalling in traffic with excessive gas smell from the exhaust. c. AC repair: Returned 4 times with no positive result. d. Missing u-joint cap bearings: This could have resulted in a catastrophic incident with the drive shaft. The bottom line is I had to replace that engine with a brand-new crate engine which cost me over $10,000. read more
