I recently brought my Audi TTRS to Lake Norman Tire & Auto after dealing with horrible tire scrub that was driving me crazy. After doing some research on my own, I realized the issue was coming from the Pirelli P Zero tires. I immediately called Matt and requested a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires. He didn't have them in stock at the moment, but he went above and beyond--he had them delivered the very next morning by 9 AM, and they were installed on my car by 11 AM. The team also performed an alignment, and the difference is night and day. The tire scrub is completely gone. The entire experience was smooth, fast, and professional. A charging system alert flashed on my dash while driving. Stopped to see what was going on. I had thrown a serpentine belt. The Lord was watching over me. Looked up and saw Lake Norman Tire and Auto, I pulled right in. Without hesitation, they offered me a loaner vehicle and sent me on my way while they determined what needed to be done. I'm not a big fan of dealing with auto repair shops. However I have changed my mind when it comes time to dealing with the mechanics at Lake Norman Tire and Auto. Ed, the mechanic who worked on my 2006 Volvo was awesome!! He kept me up to date with an estimate and the progress on my repair work. Without asking he did an overall check of my cars engine and any future repairs that would be needed. Unlike most repair shops in the area, Lake Norman was open on Saturday, and provided a free loaner car, while the work was being done. At the end of the day, I felt that the prices, were comparable if not cheaper than other area repair shops, and the work done was very reliable. I'm completely sold on the Lake Norman Tire and Auto experience!! read more

As a long-term customer of LNT, I am sad to admit that I will be looking elsewhere for an RV mechanic. After spending over $400.00 for a battery, I had initially given them a good review. That was before I needed the use of the battery inside of the RV. It did not work. I called the mechanic and he immediately acted as if it was my fault; he denies this. Believing everything would work once it was hooked up to electricity I left for my trip. Well, sadly that was not the case. Once again I spoke with Matt and took the RV back to him. Finally he admitted the new battery was dead. Then after replacing it he saw for himself that it was not working. I hate this has happened. read more

I brought the car in to patch a simple slow leak (had to fill it once every week or so) their team came up with some lame excuse why the couldn't patch it and instead tried to up sell me a whole new replacement tire at $199. That was obviously way more than the $35 I expected to pay to patch a slow leak, so I said no. They filled the tire back up to recommend air pressure and I left. However when I arrived home 2 miles away and only an hour later (not a week) the slow leak was now a quick leak (hum I wonder why ?) the tire was flat and without a spare I had no way to move it to get it fixed. I had to call AAA to get it towed to another shop to have tire replace. New shop actually provided 2 new tires for half the price. So I'm thinking these guys might be a bit of a bait and switch scam type of operation and that is why I'm warning people against bringing your car there gonna be hit with a bigger bill than you should !! read more

We have a 2008 Damon Challenger with gas engine and Allison Transmission. We are traveling from Houston, TX area and having acceleration issues on all the hill climbs. Down to 10-15MPH up hills. Very scary. Campground in Statesville, NC told us about Lake Norman Tire and Auto Center....does not sound like an RV repair place...but it is...and it is GREAT. Allison dealers told us it was not a transmission issue but an engine. Since it is gas they could not repair it. Tuesday mid morning -We called LNT and Matt is their RV rep and he worked us in on the same day. Parts ordered overnight..plugs and plug wires and the techs found a leaking exhaust manifold gasket. They replaced that on Wednesday. While there Matt heard our 2008 Toyota Corolla not wanting to start. I asked if they could look at that...they did NOT suggest it. They found low fuel line pressure and quoted a fuel pump replacement price. Huntsville,TX Toyota looked at it before we left and could not find a problem. So the LKNT quote made sense. They ordered the part on Wednesday and it was the wrong one. So they got a different one.....no fit.. No 1, 2, 3 and 4 were the wrong fit...fuel line and wire harness were on the wrong side of the assemble. They continued looking for the correct fit. Thursday morning they had a correct part and it fit and fixed the problem. They are very professional and dedicated to fixing the problem. Since we live full time in our RV they even let us use their empty concrete pad site the 50 Amp, water and sewer!! Who DOES THAT? They do! Matt explains everything, answers questions and offers suggestions. No pressure...just EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Very hard to find in these times. Give them a try. read more

This place is top notch. My daughter bought a 37' coach used and needed some upgrades to make it drive better. We bought a Supersteer performance steering & suspension package online and they installed all of it. Not only that, but they came and picked up the coach in Hickory and brought it back when done as my daughter did not want to make that drive. They did a thorough overall inspection and also changed all the fluids and did an alignment. Matt was a joy to work with and kept us well informed through the whole process. Brought the camry here on a recommendation for an inspection and maybe an alignment to address a handling problem and found the wheels were pointed in all different directions!? Two tires could use replacing, the other two have plenty of tread and it is almost uniformly distributed across and around the tires. On the plus side actual linkages and stuff didn't have to be replaced but all the adjustment points show corrosion and some needed a little help from the heat wrench. So an hour later I'm back on the road a little lighter in the pocket book but the car doesn't feel like it's going to shake itself to pieces driving home. It's not their fault I let someone give me a toyota... but I won't make that mistake again. read more
