I had read so many good reviews of this place that I just had to try it! They're located off of Sand Island Rd., a little further down on the left side, in a small business center that has other eateries and businesses. Free parking is available in the shared lot, but I can see how it would fill up quickly. When I walked up to the eatery, there were several customers waiting outside. When I walked inside, I understood why. This is a take-out only place. There are no tables inside or outside. Basically you order at the counter, then they give you a number and you wait outside for them to call your number. They make your food fresh as soon as you order, so it will take approx 15 min for your food to be ready, if not longer depending on the number of customers ahead of you. I ordered the Honey Macadamia Chicken Karaage plate for $15.50, which I thought was a reasonable price. It came with rice, a Kings Hawaiian roll and mac salad. The plate was heavy so I knew it was a decent amount of food. When I opened the box, it looked like heaven! I couldn't wait to dig in. The Honey Macadamia Chicken was delicious and moist. The sauce was amazing and the batter was not soggy at all. The Hawaiian roll went well with the chicken. I only tasted a little of the mac salad, but that was good too! After the Rudy Ducusin family lived in Vegas for 13 years and worked with top chefs Thomas Keller and Wolfgang Puck, Rudy had a passion to own his own business. The family moved back to HI and started their food truck business in 2019 and called it "Str'Eats of Aloha," meaning that it would be hustling through the streets with their take on Hawaiian and Asian-inspired local comfort food. While the food truck operates at various special events, they have a brick-and mortar shop that opened in 2022 for take-out on Sand Island Access Rd in Kalihi. They also offer catering services. Str'Eats of Aloha offers generous portions of local-inspired plate lunches, bentos, and fusion dishes, such as guava smoked pork belly, pork mozzarella cutlet w/ chorizo gravy, and char siu fried noodles. Breakfast and various desserts are also offered. I had the Str'Eats Bento #2 that included furikake rice, teri beef, shrimp katsu, garlic shrimp, mandoo (2 pcs), and char siu fried noodles. The yakisoba noodles are made locally by Sun Noodles and are seasoned in a homemade sauce and topped with generous amounts of kamaboko, green onions, and chunks of char siu. The noodles are very tasty, and I couldn't believe the generous amounts of char siu (some of them chunks even!), minced kamaboko, and sliced green onions! I even used the leftover noodles for simian! The teri beef was also tasty and tender. I enjoyed the huge piece of flavorful garlic chicken, the jumbo shrimp, and the tasty mandoo! All the items complemented each other well! A winner for sure! Very impressive bento that I shared with my hubby and even had leftovers for another meal! I also tried the pork hash (siu mai) and found them to be of a good size and very tasty! A very popular eatery, as you'll always find customers waiting outside for their orders. The small shop area is designed for take-out only, as you wait outside until your order is ready. Most of the shop interior is the kitchen and prep area. The walls near the entrance have photos of their menu items, a blue-and-white menu hangs from the ceiling, a hand-written whiteboard of specials stands on the floor, and a clear refrigerated display case that houses their various desserts. Hours of operation are Mon to Fri 6a to 1p, Sat/Sun closed. Located in a row of businesses with Lunch Box of HI nearby (think of the giant konbu musubi and spicy mochiko chicken), free parking fronting the shop and alongside the building complex is available, which is shared among the various businesses. I checked out Streats of Aloha at New Wave Night Market tonight. The girl who took my order was super friendly and the food came out really fast. I got the jumbo shrimp katsu. I'd been really excited to try it after seeing it on instagram because they looked so good. The katsu itself was crispy and tasted pretty good, but I personally felt the siracha mayo took away from the flavor rather than adding to it. I want to be clear that this may have just been personal taste preference as I know this place is popular and people like it! The plate had three jumbo shrimp katsus, rice, tuna Mac salad, and a sweet bread roll for $18, which is a realllllly good price for the amount of food in that plate! My go to for the best plate lunches! Every food truck event I go to, I always look for this one! And most times, they're there! They are always hustlin' & always have a line. I mostly visit this truck at Pearl Country Club (now Pearl At Kalauao) for their monthly night market. My #1 to get here is their Salmon Katsu Overload and it's only $20!! It comes with 1-2 filets of fried katsu, topped with imitation crab, mayo, unagi sauce & Taegu! Not only that, salad, a bed of rice, & a kings Hawaiian roll. My husband had their mini breakfast with bacon. Wow 3 eggs any way you like it made and 2 thick slices of bacon. My husband said it was too much rice for him. But it was good. Along with a menu display sign. Service was friendly. They had a sign letting you know that food is prepared to order and it would take a few minutes to do your order. I ordered a mini breakfast with Guava Bacon. It came with two thick slices of bacon and three eggs made your way. I also ordered the Guava Pork Belly for my dinner. I heard good things about Str'Eats of Aloha and decided to stop by for lunch. The young lady taking orders was really nice and patient as I asked about the different plates. I ended up getting two #2 bentos , which came with a piece of shrimp tempura, mandoo, garlic chicken, teriyaki beef, noodles and rice. I also got two guava smoked meat plates and a dozen butter rolls. The plates were $14.50 each, and they are really generous with the portions; the plates were worth the price. The garlic chicken was really flavorful and paired well with the noodles. The mandoo had a really nice umami flavor that went nicely with the teriyaki beef and noodles. My daughter and son-in-law both agreed that the smoked meat was absolutely delicious, but everyone agreed that the butter rolls were absolutely perfect! They were super soft and absolutely delicious! This will be my go-to place for butter rolls from now on. Went to Str'Eats of Aloha and got a Bento #2 which came with Teri beef, Garlic Chicken, shrimp Tempura, Mandoo over a bed of fried Noodles with rice and furikake. ok I've been meaning to eat here for a while and I guess it was worth the wait the Teri beef tasted good although not the flavor of old times it was good. The Garlic Chicken was tasty and the noodles were as good as it gets. The Mandoo was okay but good enough and the Shrimp Tempura was pretty good too. The plate(Bento) reminded me of some old Massive plate lunch spot of long ago was so heavy! Parking was adequate although I can see it get crowded at times. Got steamed and fried pork hash for the office. They pounded it. I am not as much a fan. Waaaay too salty for me...and I like salty. Almost had the consistency and taste of a hamburger (assuming you also put ground pork in your hamburgers like I do). At least it wasn't like paste, but I think I like more chunkiness. We were in Kailua for an Oktoberfest fall event and saw their truck! It was fate, as we were drinking and needed food to soak up the alcohol. We got our favorite dish, Town & Country for $20 and it was enough to share between 2 people. The plate lunch has a little bit of everything, my favorite part is the shrimp katsu which is crispy and juicy. It was just as good as we remember. Shrimp katsu is as intimidating to eat as it does to look at. A very dense and hefty log of shrimp. (I got the sauce on the side and glad I did. I didn't care for the flavors.) The teri beef made for a wonderful "Suzie Q" (IYKYK), at next day's lunch. The brisket was so soft, and the gravy was so tasty, not salty or winey with all kinds of stuff swimming in it. You know when a Local Business runs a Manapua Truck Special, I'm gonna definitely find a way to get my hands on it even if my work schedule prevents me to but with a stroke of luck it started raining cats and dogs and had that opportunity to leave early and you know where I'm going with this. Str'Eats of Aloha which is located in Sand Island Access Road is a place where the Plates are so Heavy you definitely get a workout and the Selection of Food Items here are right up my Alley with a heavy emphasis on Local Style Eats and I honestly have to say their prices are very fair and reasonable. For the past few weeks they've been running a Manapua Truck Special for $15.50 which includes One piece of Tempura Fried Chicken,2 pieces of Pork Hash on a Bed of Fried Noodles and all I have to say is that your Jaw will drop after seeing this thing of Nostalgic Beauty. Being the Voracious Eater i am, u felt like I need to bump up this Plate by adding another Piece of Fried Chicken and 2 more pieces of Pork Hash and all I have to say is that i made the biggest mistake of my life because I totally understimated how big this plate would be. As for the Plate I will give my honest assessment of it. The Tempura Fried Chicken looked fantastic and definitely looked like the Fried Chicken that I used to order at the Manapua Trucks back in the day but the Tempura Batter was just a tad too much for me and was way too thick for my liking. It wasn't terrible but I would love it if it had just a light tempura coating on the Chicken making it easier to eat. It was almost as if I was eating a Huge Chunk of Tempura Batter. I had too peel off the Batter just to get to the Chicken. I like the idea of it but the Execution just wasn't what I expected. As for the Fried Noodles, they were Absolutely Fantastic. Very Tasty and not overly Salty like some Fried Noodles are and there were nice Chunks of Char Siu and Fishcake right on top for that perfect garnish on a really well executed Fried Noodle Dish. But for me the Highlight of this Plate were the Pork Hash. The Pork Hash is made from @theporkhashfactory which you can find them on Instagram and all I have to say is the Pork Hash from The Pork Hash Factory is definitely one of the Best if not the Best Pork Hash I have ever had in my lifetime. They were Thick,Juicy and absolutely amazing. If I had too choose between them and Da Porkhash Man these two are nearly identical in terms of taste and texture. I'm still in awe how Amazing that Pork Hash was. I definitely could've eaten at least a dozen of these in one seating like I did with Da Porkhash Man. The Pork Hash was so good that no Shoyu Mustard is needed. In ending if I had a chance to order this plate again I would just get an Order of Fried Noodles and get at least 6 of the Pork Hash and make that my go to Plate right here. Not sure how long The Pork Hash Factory is gonna be collaborating with Str'Eats of Aloha but I highly recommend coming here to Str'Eats of Aloha and give it a try. Heavy plate equals heavy meal. I visited the food truck every now and then but now they have a takeout stand. And I'm a happy after finding this place. Actually I was planning to visit a restaurant in the area but it closed down. All the plates are fried or grilled and that's ok since I believe it locks in the flavor. I've never been here for breakfast, only for lunch and I've never been disappointed. So far, I've gotten the chicken, the pork cutlet, and the salmon. All three are big plates at reasonable price. There is are specials of the day but to me they seem to alway be "the special of the day everyday" You should phone in your order because it's cooked right when ordered so walk in will have a wait. Love their food, but when I saw them at Kakaako, their plates were $2 more, so I'll wait for when they are in the leeward side. Although the price is high like any other food truck or restaurant due to inflation, they give a lot. Fried Noodles - 5 stars - for $13, I got a mound of noodles in a regular sized lunch plate. Lots of charsiu, and the noodles have a sweet taste to it, which is perfect for me. I would buy this over and over again. So yummy! My coworkers and I decided to each order a different item off the menu, then just share. Best decision ever. These plates were huge!!! Each item was so delicious and flavorful. The gochujang kalbi Kim chee fried rice was my order. It was full of flavor and you could definitely taste the Korean gochujang. The kalbi was tender, and didn't lack any flavor. The adobo with garlic fried rice was garlicky good. It was like they cooked the rice with garlic. Every bite of rice was filled with garlic, so good. We go to the Sand Island location whenever we can. The food is always good! You need to follow them on Instagram for the specials. You never know what the chef will come up with. Today, we picked up the shrimp katsu slider and da manapua truck special. Just the shrimp burger on a bun would be good. The chicken has a thick batter, which is not a bad thing because it's well seasoned. As if that's not enough, there are two Vietnamese pork hashes. This gingery pork and vegetables dumpling makes this plate lunch kinda exotic. Don't ignore their regular menu. My favorite is the chopped steak over fried noodles, but, really, everything is good! Food was ono, portions were cherry and more than enough to share with someone else. Took awhile for the food to be prepared other than that it was good experience. I would recommend this plate if anyone is in the area. I really gave it a 3 because there was another lunch wagon parked with its generator blowing towards the restaurant while we waited for our food. read more

Food portion is off the charts great local kine grinds for the price and winnah for the taste

Ordered the pork mozzarella cutlet w/chorizo gravy through Uber Eats and the dish blew me away. The flavor of the cutlet and mozzarella cheese w/chorizo gravy was amazing. The portion was hefty with a weighty amount of food. Not sure if they have dine-in but if the do I would definitely make this my go to place to eat. read more
