    Garlic Chicken plate

We ordered the Garlic Chicken Plate. $18. A lot of times when I'm writing my reviews I think about other places with comparable dishes or about how I would make the dish. But I keep coming back year after year to get the garlic Chicken because there is no comparison and I have no idea how they make this dish. Sometimes it's too garlicky and that's a nice surprise because you're reminded of the meal throughout the rest of the day Today it was perfect. Keep doing what you do! Mahalo

Today me and the wife went to Mitsu Ken for brunch I always liked the Garlic chicken plate but today I had the Mitsu Ken bento, maki sushi on the side, even the cone sushi was good [[HIGHLIGHT]]over there was busy it's a small place but it always good take out food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was pretty fast considering how much people had, if you haven't been there before you should check it out

I finally wanted to try their garlic chicken since we were in Kalihi and were just about to pass it. Line out the door wasn't too long. I ordered the mini bento and after I said I was paying in cash, the lady lowered the price, I'm assuming because that surcharge was the credit card service fee. I saw nowhere inside about a service fee will be charged when paying with card. I tried the bento and sadly the garlic chicken lacked flavor. I barely tasted garlic. The hot dog, teriyaki and spam had more flavor. I'd go elsewhere for garlic chicken. Service was good and straightforward. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great little spot just outside of Fort Shafter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's great for lunch when you only have time to grab and go, but also don't come here expecting some magical speedy service; their bentos are made to order. The chicken is must try. Seriously, try it.

@fortunefoodfinds: "Hope you're having an EGG-cellent weekend! A Breakfast Deluxe Combo from Mitsu-Ken Okazu & Catering. This beauty comes with 2 Scoops Fried Rice, 2 Eggs (chose Sunny Side Up), 2 Strips of Bacon, 3 Pieces Portuguese Sausage n' 3 Pieces Garlic Chicken. Haven't had this in ages but this is seriously breakfast at its best. The huge portions n' ono grindz always have me leaving impressed!" Service: friendly [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior: step in only to order and/or pick up, no dine-in just food to-go[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Exterior: across from New City Nissan Wait time: 10 mins if ordering when you get there (I can imagine longer if super busy), you can also make phone orders Parking: plenty in front/side lot Overall comments: IMPORTANT NOTE - breakfast is only served until 10:30am. I come here for one thing only, their breakfast deluxe combo. Price went up a few bucks from what I remember but still, the amount of food they give is enough to easily feed 2 n' is so worth it. Everything in the deluxe combo is so good. You get the crunchy n' juicy garlic chicken, salty bacon, slightly spicy Portuguese sausage, runny egg, all on top of the flavorful fried rice. My son loved the garlic chicken n' fried rice so that's a win. Def a takeaway breakfast spot at the top of my list!

Mitsu-ken has been a place I've wanted to try for a long time, and I finally made it over there. We ordered the Breakfast Combo and Breakfast Special. The garlic fried chicken ended up being the highlight. It was super crispy with a nice garlic flavor that wasn't too strong, and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was pretty standard, and the eggs were cooked perfectly over-easy. The fried rice was the one thing that missed the mark. Some parts were still white, like it didn't get mixed or cooked all the way. Overall it was good, but I'm not sure if it's a spot I'd go out of my way to return to.

My fiancé recommended this spot. Since back in his weekend school days he'd stop here for breakfast or plate lunch. So when we landed on Oahu for my birthday weekend this was our first stop. I'm always a fan of spots with chow fun:) Until next time. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher

Visit: too many to count Date: 2/7/25 Time: 9:00am-ish What they got right: Quick & friendly service, tasty food and generous servings. Areas for improvement: none at the moment I ordered their breakfast deluxe special and forgot how big it was! Good thing I was sharing with my hubby. Garlic chicken was crisp, crunchy and tasty! Best garlic chicken so far, and I have tried others. Fried rice is great with the garlic chicken juices and crispy bits. I always order scrambled eggs with my rice just for convenience. I really didn't need the bacon or sausage cause the garlic chicken is what I came here for. Definitely recommend their garlic chicken and breakfast specials!

When you're in the mood for some Mitsu-Ken, you just have to go get it! This little spot in Honolulu, Hawaii, is known for its bentos and local dishes, but their fried garlic chicken is the real star. If you grew up in Kalihi, you probably remember this place from its original location on North School Street. Mitsu-Ken Okazu and Catering 2300 North King St. Ste. Everything was just as i last remembered it. Growing up as a kid everyone would bring Mitsu-Ken garlic chicken to parties and it was always gone. Finally as an adult I purchased the vegetable tempura, steak and eggs, noodles and the famous garlic chicken. 10/10 still recommend. The staff was very friendly and helpful being it was my first time. I'm gonna keep coming back when im in town for sure.

In our opinion the home of the Best Garlic Chicken on Oahu. They're open Wednesday to Saturday from 7 - 1. They have a great system to take your order and get you on your way quickly and efficiently. We've never been disappointed. Food is always delicious. Lines may look long but move very quickly.

Yes, they have veggie options in their okazuya

Had a glass of wine and baby had watered down lemonade. Her drinks were put in plastic cups with covers and those horrible paper straws. Eyes always bigger than my stomach, we ordered: - Cornbread - when i grabbed it I thought would be super dense but really wasn't. I thought it was very corny and tasty. Lightly toasted. Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. Baby ate some but was not really thrilled about it. I loved it. - Scallop and Mushroom Risotto - YUM. Delish. Baby liked it too. So much leftovers of everything. Realized when we ate it for leftovers it was all pretty oily and needed a pinch of salt. But otherwise great. Staff really nice and helpful. Love that the place is spread out and open. Bathrooms are not assigned which I'm sure can get gross, but is great to not have to wait for just the women's. There is a big stall which was perf since baby is potty training and had to go #1 and #2! Only thing missing was a hook to hang my purse and her bag. We ordered drinks and took around 15 mins to come, then we looked for our server to order our food. The appetizers cane out in a timely manner but our entrees took quite a while. The Duck Confit was yummy! I thought the duck was going to be super dry, but when you eat it with the jam that came with it, it's very good. I requested for a little bit more of the jam but was given just balsamic glaze... My friend said her scallop risotto was watery and not the same as the last time she went. My bfs prime rib was okay. Bone marrow was okay. The chicken pasta, octopus appetizer, salad, and mac n cheese were lacking flavor and tasted okay. I would recommend dining here if you do not have plans after.
