I needed a razor fade and shave today and decided on trying this place out for the first time. I made an online appointment with a barber I didn't know. I went there earlier than my appointment time and was helped quickly by another barber. It was the nice Latino gentleman barber in the first chair. I wished I got his name, but he was all business and pleasant to talk to. He did a very good job shaping my beard and gave me razor fade that was on point. If I could make a suggestion it would be to have name tags by stations of the people on duty. The price was reasonable $30 dollars for what I had done. The parking spaces in front of the barber shop are limited, but I utilized the parking lot across the street. A short walk won't hurt you none. Give them a try. read more

I've taken my son here for haircuts for the last 2 years. When you can get in they do a good job. The issue is they're never on time. I make an appointment every week but they're always 20-30 min late. Definitely understand giving a good haircut but the point of scheduling appointments is to help keep you from spending hours waiting in a cut. Son finally said it was no longer worth the wait, so well find a new barber. read more

When I was in Tucson this was the place, but unfortunately moved back home to Illinois. I recently moved to Oro Valley and made sure I went there first. Different barber, same great cut. I've waited a bit to provide a review because I wanted to have a local place to compare Straight Edge too. Came here for a fade at 9am on a Saturday a few months back. Vincent (I believe) did a solid job, but he was also a few minutes late for my appointment, seemed pretty tired, and not much of a conversationalist if you're hoping for that in a barber. The main reason I won't be back is because of the price; you'll pay close to $30 here for a fade, and it seems about $10 of that is to pay for the experience and nice location. In contrast, I just went to A Tucson Barbershop and got a fade done by Billy that was superior in quality and only $19 plus a tip! In addition, Billy was great to chat with. My point in all this is not to disparage Straight Edge, but to say that you can find comparable and even higher quality for much less nearby. read more

Finally a barbershop with barbers who actually know what they're doing! My son has been seeing Joe for a while now and has never left with a bad haircut. These guys are great! They really take their time and do an excellent job with each haircut. This is so much better than any haircut you'll get from a chain. Gabe cut my hair and used shaving cream and a razor on the back of my neck, sideburns, and around my temples, making sure everything looked perfect and there wasn't a hair out of place. They are pretty busy, but it's well worth the wait. read more

My family and I were in town for a softball tournament last March, we walked into StraightEdge and within 10 minutes my son was in a chair! Joe was great, he took his time and made sure my son left happy & feeling great about himself. The atmosphere was friendly and they made sure to fill us in on all the great food spots/places to go to. I did some research on barbers in Tucson, as I was not happy with the cuts I was getting from traditional hairstylists in Tucson. I found Armando at Straight Edge Barber, and when he finished I knew I found the person I would be returning to time and time again!! Everyone in this shop greeted me warmly and after watching them do their thing on the customers who came in, I felt comfortable that I had finally found the shop I had been looking for. As I am a female who wears her hair very short (pixie style), I felt very comfortable walking into this shop and immediately knew I was in the right place! Ladies, if you have short or pixie hair, I would highly recommend Armando; he is a true professional who actually listens to what you want, and then goes on to do his magic! This establishment was not a very good one I came in as a walk in and sat for about an hour and a half. I seen three barbers supposedly waiting for appointments texting on phone as other customers were waiting to be seen also. Then as I get my haircut the barber starts to create small talk and starts to insult me as a formality or so tryin to lighten mood which did the total opposite. The over all haircut was horrible I came in wearing a hat and left wearing one I do not recommend this place at all. I even gave a ten dollar tip just to show common courtesy but will not be returning to the place ever just being honest..! read more
