I'm shocked by some of the mixed reviews for Straight From NY Bagels as I had the best experience! The amount of bagel and cream cheese flavors they offer is amazing! If you're looking for the classics done extremely well, this is the spot. Give yourself a little bit of time for ordering as it gets crowded; but thankfully when I visited, I just beat the line. I got their Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich on a Garlic Bagel. The bagel tasted so fresh and it was the perfect thickness to enjoy the inside flavors. Even as the bagel was toasted, my garlic topping did not get burnt and flavor was great. My husband got their Everything bagel with Salmon CC. The cream cheese was a tad expensive but you get actual salmon chunks throughout! My aunt loved their Poppy Bagel which is always a fun flavor to offer. Overall, this is a great bagel spot in Naples! We used to come here multiple times per week. Was a great spot. Unfortunately, the entire business has completely gone down hill. Service is horrendous. New staff is extremely rude. Their payment system regularly fails, which has caused us to be double charged numerous times and have to come back for refunds. Prices get higher, quality and service gets lower. Today will be the last time we visit this place, unfortunately. They charged our card, it hit the bank, and then told us that it didn't go through. I had to open my account and prove that it went through. They pushed back and fought with us about it in front of their super long line. We then waited over 40 minutes for our food. People behind us in line all got theirs well before we did. We were long time customers that got completely mistreated due to their own systems fault. The only positive note, is that Peri is a 5-star employee. He has been around a long time and always treats people well. They should give him a raise and have him train the others around him! I truly hope they take the recent increase in negative reviews seriously and do something to fix it. read more

One of the best bagels we've had in a while. Got a bacon, egg and cheese on plain, as well as a sausage, egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar. Friendly service. Large selection of bagels and salads--they also have bialys and NY-area treats like crumb cake and Italian cookies. Bagels have the chewy texture and blistered skin that I enjoy, though the dough is a little sweet. The veggie cream cheese was excellent with fresh vegetables mixed in. We have been going here for years, and over the years the food has slowly gone down hill. Today will be the last time I eat from Straight from NY, I say eat but I threw my roll in the trash. Not only has the cost out weighed the food, the food is just flat out bad. The last 5x the bagels and rolls are just not good. I figured the first time maybe they had a bad day. Then the 3rd and 4th...now today. 1 bagel toasted with butter, 2 egg sandwiches (bagel + roll), 2 drinks. Came out to 36 dollars. This joint does a hustling business in the morning so be prepared to wait a bit, but it's worth it. There's outdoor seating out front which is east facing, perfect for enjoying the morning sun on a coolish morning. The food was amazing! Very filling and they have always gotten my order right, I got their bacon egg and cheese egg sandwich on a plain bagel with an overeasy egg instead of the scrambled. I recommend them if you are in the mood for some egg sandwich's or just picking up cream cheese as they have a lot. I took away one star as when I went there were flies everywhere! If your looking for the best hot pastrami on rye, delicious knishes, moist corned beef, dense New York bagels or delicious cookies and desserts.... I'd hate to let you down but go somewhere else. I've been there 3 times and they're managed to piss me off everytime. The first time the I got into an actual fight with the manager ladt over lox. How absurd. All I did was ask if they had lox. Not nova, but legit, salty, belly lox. The lady condescendingly asked me "what's the difference". Well I happen to know the difference. Nova is smoked. Lox is cured. And the flavor is completely different. It's not just about how salty the fish is. She wasn't expecting a coherent answer and was even more rude that I knew the difference. Could have simply said no! Fast forward a few weeks I went back to get a dozen bagels for the family and I asked for lox again. This time really just to screw with her. Guess what, they had lox. But it was uncomfortable again. The same lady was in back of the counter talking shit about me to the cashier. To the beat of my ability in pretty sure she was saying it was leftover from a special order and something about it being disgusting and too salty. Too salty? The limited edition lox was perfect. It's the bagels that are too salty. I'm unsure why but they're using super coarse salt all over the everything bagels. I'm not against salt or Tina of flavor but arguably it was kind of hard to eat salty lox on their over salted everything bagel. So if your lucky enough to find one of those super rare events where they have mor leftover lox I would suggest ordering it on some other flavor of bagel. So I went back the third time and now I'm totally pissed. I ordered a kniish and a pastrami sandwich. Well I guess whoever is making the knishes used up all the salt on the bagels because they were totally devoid of salt or really any other flavor than potato. And what about my pastrami sandwich. You know... The New York deli standard... (Should be) Piled high with fresh steamy pastrami, stacked so tall you can't even bite the sandwich, served on fresh rye bread with deli mustard and a pickle wedge. Maybe even some potato salad or macaroni salad. Well the pickle and macaroni was ok. But the sandwich was quite literally the worst pastrami sandwich I've ever been served. I guesss they don't have a proper steam table. Hell, even a microwave would have been better than the atrocity I was served. They re-cooked the pastrami on a flat top. The meat was black, burned, greasy disgusting mess. I literally chocked it down. Anyone who would murder a sandwich like that clearly knows absolutely nothing about deli food and shouldn't be serving it. Might as well put ketchup on the sandwich. Would have been an equivalent mistake. So after trying a few things I don't plan to go there for a meal... Might buy their bagels again unless I can find something better nearby. Definitely not straight from NY, that sign has been taken off and it only reads "Bagels". I was super hungry, just have landed at Ft. Myers and didn't really know what to have for breakfast so I decided to try their bagels. Of course I'm not expecting NY/NJ bagel quality lol, something about the water makes bagels outside of the NY/NJ area taste a lot different but this definitely did not make me feel at home. The service was super nice, the lady at the counter who took my order was very patient with me. They don't have turkey bacon available though, maybe it's a Jersey thing, so I settled for an everything bagel toasted, scooped out with egg and cheese. The bagel tasted like some bland bread, didn't have that brownish toast and it tasted somehow plain. Felt like they just threw and egg and some cold American cheese, I ate the whole thing because I was hungry. I wish I could explain, but can't lol. Coffee was normal, this isn't a cafe so I wasn't expecting anything more. The tables were somehow dirty so I had to clean it myself, no big deal. I can get pretty crowded though, I mean it was full when I arrived. Maybe if they work on the quality of the bagels, or take a trip up north to taste some real bagels, then that would be a hit. Unfortunately there is no zero star options. If you are ordering for the Holidays beware! Ordered 6 bagels, thinly sliced nova (0.5 pound), quarter pound whitefish salad and pickles. We received, half filled of the small container whitefish salad, 2 acme packages of nova, and no pickles. My wife called and the business response was there is nothing we can do. Straight from NY Bagels should go Straight to NY and see how a bagel shop should be run. The bagel is so hard that it is tough to bite into. I ordered a ham & Swiss on a plain bagel and it took 20 minutes until I received it. In NY you order and they make it right away. No standing around waiting 20 minutes to receive it. It's been 2 years since I went here and was hoping the wait time for a sandwich had improved but it did not. I think 1 person makes all the sandwiches.
