Saved it on my maps for the next trip: Simple quick food, TWO sizes for mozzarella sticks AND good ones. Grilled sandwich, hot dog, corn dog, but I had to get a Philly! Good size w/an 8 & 12" option, great tasting cheap sub. Small amount of standard fries, I shouldn't complain and I'm not really. I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop by Straight out of Philly this past Friday. I was first introduced to this restaurant years ago and I have been hooked ever since. It has a modern diner type of vibe to it. Over the years the food and service here has been good. I come here when I want a hoagie and fries. As I walked in, I was greeted by the waitress and immediately seated myself. The menu was readily available in a shelf on the wall next to my table. As soon as I sat down, the waitress was ready to take my order. I had a craving for a sandwich. I ordered a large cold corned beef hoagie with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, mustard and mayo. I added a side of fries also. The beef is put on top of the toppings so the hoagie at first glance looks like its missing toppings. (See picture) Unsweet tea and water were my drinks. As I waited for my food I watched college basketball on the television screen in the back of the room. Eventually, the food arrived within ten minutes. The fries were hot and the hoagie was fresh. The hoagie and fries were so good I ordered and ate another hoagie. In addition to this the waitress ensured I had plenty to drink. At the end of the meal, my craving was satisfied. After heading to Major Phillie Cheesesteaks on the Southside for a Yelp Elite event, I thought it was finally time to head over here to try one of their cheesesteaks. They first caught my eye when a friend of mine posted about them on Facebook before he moved out-of-state. And reviews here on Yelp seem fair. So, what would be the verdict? Our order was quick and easy. There was only one person inside eating and the rest of the customers were takeout. They have plenty of seats available and the decor takes you back to the 50's and 60's with the feel of a cafe. Not too bad if you ask me. The next time we come could be dine-in if the time is right. For my order, I chose a small beef cheesesteak with cheese, mushrooms and green bell peppers. The size is enough for two servings, but I ordered a small order of fries so I ate half for lunch and the rest for later. It was good and very tasty, but it wasn't completely seasoned. The steak itself provides sodium and all but I'm used to tasting some pepper. Even the fries barely had salt. And my girlfriend noticed the same thing on her order as well. It wouldn't deter us from coming back, but hopefully some more spices are added. So far, the winner in this unofficial cheesesteak battle is Major Phillie. I ordered a 12" cheesesteaks and corned beef Reuben sandwich with side of fries. The cheesesteak was delicious with the right grease and condiments. Only gripe I have is that the meat was not evenly spread in the bun, which kinda lacking meat on both ends of the bun. However, the taste was spot on. The corned beef reuben sandwich was delicious as well but again the spread of the meat inside the bread is uneven. The side of fries were hot but it's plain - no salt or any type of seasonings. Some may like it but I like my fries with some seasonings. The dining area is also interesting, a Philly bar inspired decor and very friendly staff. They had bulgogi on the menu which I find it interesting. I will absolutely try other items in the menu as I just recently found this place in my area. Wow! The Philly cheese steaks here are pretty freaking awesome! I know we came here for the Philly cheesesteak, which is shaved and finely chopped, but the only thing that brought this down to a 4 is the fries need seasoning. With that said, with all the meat that fell off of our sandwiches we added the meat to the fries and bam! This place has local small town favorite all over it and the ambience runs great with the food. Again, service 5 star, food 4.5 star, would come here again. This restaurant offers Korean food options. I learned this when having a business meeting at the establishment. The young lady who helped us was very nice and offered a lot of recommendations. Some of those items include Beef Bulgogi, Kimchi, Mandoo etc. If you can't decide on what to eat for dinner come here so you have options. The interior is cute almost like a diner style. Wow! What a great find. We love cheesesteaks and this place place is awesome, plus. As soon as we came in we were greeted friendly with a smile. It is very clean and has a ton of character. We sat ourselves after an invitation. One Cheesesteak with the title of spicy hot and one just steak and cheese with jalapeños. The spicy hot had everything on it. Everything! While spicy is wasn't too too hot yet full of flavor. We had the 8" which was more than plenty. Two 8" steak and cheese with two sodas came to $23. I could have just eaten have there and taken the rest home and still been quite full. But it was so yummy I finished it all. The bath rooms are clean and parking is a shared lot just out in front. This is a great little place to grab a bite to eat, especially if you are not looking to eat a huge meal. We ended up here after having an unfortunate visit at another establishment and I am grateful for that or else we may not have had a chance to find this place. It is located off the main drag in a small strip of storefronts and thanks to Yelp we were able to find it. When you walk in it is like you walked into a 50s diner. Many pictures on the wall giving a nod to celebrities of times past adorn the walls. Neon sign, 45s hanging from the ceiling and there is this chrome feel throughout the place. The light pieces were definitely unique for this place, used colanders makes you do a double take. At first you don't notice it and then after about fifteen minutes it's like the light bulb went on (pun intended). It is a simple place. Seat yourself. Menus are along the wall, you pick it up, look it over and when the server comes over you just let them know what you want. Most everything you will need is already on the table. The food had a majority vote that it was good. I had opted for the chili cheese fries. Good mix of spice to give a kick that wasn't too overpowering. It was a big helping, so big that I didn't end up finishing it. My family members that take part in a cheesesteak said that it was filled and hard to finish. One little thing about this place is that on top of the Philly cuisine you get a little choice of some Korean food as well. I cannot speak to whether it was good or not because I did not partake in it. They have some great beer specials going on as well. If I read it correctly $1 Rolling Rock can all the time and a Bud Light special as well as happy hour specials. Our server was top notch and so friendly. Meh, I've had better and I've had worse. I had a footlong cheesesteak. The beef was fair quality and the provolone was well melted. I could taste the mushrooms but didn't really notice any onions. The roll was definitely not an Amoroso. There was no crust to it, this roll was just a standard sub roll that you could get in the supermarket. The fries were very good, hot and crispy. Sadly, they have Pepsi products instead of Coke, but I guess Philly is a Pepsi town. The server gave me very prompt service, which I guess wasn't hard since I was the only customer at the time. As someone from the Philly area, I am always skeptical of authentic Philly cheesesteaks. Everywhere outside of Philly seems to think that cheesesteaks come with onions and peppers but in Philly that is an extra (onions = "wit"). The fact that this place has these "extras" listed as options, I was excited to try it out. Of course they use Amoroso rolls (a must) and they chopped the steak with the cheese. It was great!!!
