So this place is officially off my bookmark. So I don't think these people know what a Philly is supposed to take like, cuz it wasn't good. I don't even think they used the right kind of beef. It tasted like a sloppy joe on a hoogie. It was made fresh and hot so that was a plus.

Was passing through Hampton and came across the Philly Station, a cute little yellow building. Prices was very reasonable I got a large chicken cheese steak for less the $6.99 and my husband got a special, a large Philly Cheesesteak combo that came with 4 spicy wings and fries for only $9.99. Can't beat those prices anywhere. The spicy hot wing had a delicious hot sauce kinda sweet but spicy and the chicken cheese steak could of been more seasoned more like the steak was and was made with chicken breast, but I did like it.

This spot was not bad at all. My only gripe is that the roll to meat ratio was way off. I probably pulled off about 30% of the roll and left it in the bag. The flavor of the meat was pretty good. I definitely wanted more meat on my $9 sub.

The food is good , however the worker or manager gets angry quickly. My wife doesn't like cheese on her sandwich so I told him meat and onions only, I usually say it twice so that it can register. Once my food was ready I checked my food and it had cheese on it. So I said something and his reply was you didn't say no cheese , so I asked him what does the word only mean to him? He took the sandwich back and made another one a little too quick which made me think he scraped the cheese off. So I went to open the new one and in a loud voice he said, You Don't have to check it she (the other worker) just made it. So I replied if I'm paying for it I'm going to check it. He proceeded to close the little sliding window as if it gave him invisibility powers and stood there mad. The next one was made correctly so I looked him square in the eye and said, thank you ....to that he didn't reply. Buddy better get it together lol

Thus is just a carry out spot but awesome for the nights that you don't feel like cooking. Been knowing of this place for some years now. The food has always been delicious. If you live spicy...just ask for it and you shall receive! My family and I love the spicy chicken philly sandwiches.

I stumbled upon this restaurant with a lounge next to it. I dropped in for a drink so that I could listen to the awesome band. (I believe they're called the Fellas). Nonetheless, music was good and the vibes were "grown and chill". The drinks were a bit juice heavy, I barely tasted the alcohol but the service was good. I didn't order food but the people sitting next to said that they enjoyed their dinner.

Not sure how to describe the vibe- clean modern feel with a touch of cozy here and there - like the sofa when u first walk in. Pros: Cool sofa for waiting on a table or maybe cocktails? Krista was our server and she was delightful. Friendly and helpful - let us know her favorites and got our order in quickly since we couldn't take too long. Nice cocktail selection and even better range for apps and mains. Loved the ahi tuna flatbread!! Our favorite of the apps. Could have ordered for dinner and left very happy since it cost less too lol. Seared scallops were delicious- the sauce and fresh corn were amazing. Shrimp and grits had an impressive depth of flavor and the spinach and tomatoes were a unique addition. The black bass was also very good. Cons Prices on the higher side even for a fancy restaurant in Richmond. Didn't love the complimentary bread and butter: I appreciated trying to make the butter something unique- going for savory and sweet the white chocolate and herbs but the white chocolate didn't really work for us as an ingredient. Felt like the bread should've been crusty for butter like this and not the soft rolls they served. Didn't care for the pork belly appetizer. Instead of being crispy, it was just tough.

Super impressed with this one!…read more When you walk in, it seriously feels like you stepped into a 90s movie diner, and I'm here for it! They were voted Best Burger in Newport News, so my expectations were pretty high. They absolutely did NOT disappoint. I ordered a plain cheeseburger with grilled onions and bacon, along with the chili cheese fries. BEST MEAL I'VE HAD IN A WHILE! The burger was fresh, juicy, and exactly what I was craving. Everything came out super fast and tasted fresh. You order at the counter when you walk in, and if you're dining in, they bring your food out to you. Super easy and efficient. It does get crowded though. They also had a little market where they sell ice cream, pie, jerky's, snacks. I really wanted to try their soft serve too, but by the time we finished eating, there was a HUGE line, so I'm kind of sad I didn't get to try it. Guess that just means I have to come back!

I think the tater tots were my favorite part - they were the perfect crispness. Burgers were delicious but messy, especially when your kids don't understand how to eat a burger with the paper wrapped around it so the toppings don't drip out and fall apart. The grease didn't soak through the buns like other people talked about, but it definitely had some liquid coming off. Still, delicious! There were a lot of people in line to order when we got there, and we were worried it would take a long time, but the orders were coming out pretty rapidly and we didn't wait too long. They do have some coloring books and a puzzle to keep little kids entertained while waiting, which was much appreciated. They also have a small farm shop in the next room with various items for sale. Overall, we would come back to support the farm-to-table concept, but not necessarily because of the food.

I was told that if I were to leave the stroller in the car and hold/carry her, it would be a 50 minute wait for "two." I opted to go online and make a "reservation" for two and I would put the stroller in the car and hold my daughter for a reservation time of 1:00 pm (only a 30 minute wait). Why do I need to go online while standing in the restaurant to make a quicker "reservation" when I'm standing right in front of the hostess? When checking in for the 1:00 pm reservation, the hostess asked if I was going to hold my daughter or if I wanted a high chair for her. This made no sense as the entire point of me holding her was because I needed a "table for 2." If I was going to be offered a high chair for a baby that can't even sit up yet, I should've been able to keep her asleep in the stroller and still been a table for 2. How is a high chair at that point not considered a third? Her stroller wouldn't have taken up any more room. The whole experience was absurd, made absolutely no sense and was off putting. There has to be better processes in place. Adding that it is 96 degrees outside, so going back and forth with an infant was absolutely ridiculous.

The food, as it should be is the star of the show. I ordered the Duck, which was the best duck I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Some places can over cook it in an attempt to get that crispy skin, but here it was cooked to perfection. The skin was crispy, meat flavorful and juicy, and not overly greasy. The sweet potato puree was excellent and elevated the meal. The drinks menu was really good. Our friends are Wine Connessiuers and we're impressed with the selection. This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

Again, thanks to other Yelpers, I found this place. I'm so glad we found it. This place does have a small private parking lot, which is a good thing for the area. The interior was nice, large, and seemed very clean. Plenty of seats inside and a few tables outside. The fella who served us was very nice, pleasant, and took care of us. Now let's get to our meals: Holy mud were they good. The wifey had The Jim Boy. Which is a couple of eggs, a couple of sides, potatoes, and toast. She tells me the whole meal was very good with the potatoes being the flavorful standout. As for me, I had The Lumberjack. Wow was it good. It was smashbrowns topped with 3 eggs your way, fried chicken breast, sausage gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit on the side. Their website pictures were different from how it was presented to me today (not that it means a thing). Again what a wonderful flavor. The biscuits were great and the sausage gravy was fantastic! I will say this it is a very filling meal - you will not be hungry after eating this. So with all this said, I highly recommend this place and I'm sure I will be back. I might even try to hit it for lunch next time. So if you're looking for a place - go ahead and enjoy this place.
