I tried to buy a 2025 Ventrtac Pro.. " Tried " I really really " Tried " Salesman offered me a 2025 Ventrac Pro with 28.8 Hrs.. Demo unit.. The Salesman name is Cody.. everything started off great, Cody offered me the unit for a very reasonable price. , I asked if shipping could be included, and Cody said he would get back to me... The entire day went by, and he never got back to me.. When I called the next day, he said they could not include the shipping. I asked how much it was, and he did not know, which indicated he never did get a shipping quote to ask the " Powers Above " if they could include the shipping. I asked him to invoice the machine to us, so we would own the machine while we figure out the shipping, and Cody then said he could not do that .. What ??? Makes no sense. I told him we would send out our own truck for pick up , and he hung the phone up, and proceeded to block me on Facebook... How does a company stay in Business treating customers this way... We were a Wire Transfer Paying customer, that needed no financing. Easy Transaction.. This Cody guy sent pictures , specs , and a price, confirmed availability. Then just went off the chart.. dont get it.. Very Very bad customer service. Ive reached out to their owner ( Bradley (Brad) Owens, by leaving messages with the parts and service people with no reply yet. UPDATE: After leaving the store, I called back and asked to speak with Angela. I told her that I just wanted to let her know that I appreciated her cheerful attitude and the service that she had given to me during our previous interactions. I told Angela that I had just left the store and that I had had a very poor and disappointing experience with Sandy and Stephanie at the front desk. Angela asked what had happened. When I told her; she simply apologized (without taking sides or speaking disparagingly about anyone at the business) and asked how she could make it right. That is exactly what you should expect from a local family business who values and appreciates their customers. Bottom Line: If you are greeted by someone who is cheerful and anxious to help you then you are probably good to go. If not, then you've just met Sandy or Stephanie ... ask for Angela and then proceed with more confidence. read more

Being new to the area I know little on where a good repair shop was so I did like anyone would do and googled as best I could. I first called and spoke to I believe one of the ladies at the front desk. They didn't ask the make, model, or problem of my mower, "just bring it in" is what I got. That should have been my first sign of bad customer service. Brought it in today to the nicest lady at the service desk (not the owner) who was super helpful. Than the two ladies seemed to team up and told me that I'm not allowed ls to bring my small push mower through the door because it's "dirty" (which it wasn't) and I need to go around back because it made the show room look dirty is what I was told, as if I was one of there employees and was treated as such. If it's a store for lawn mower or small engine repair than at least post a sign or be a bit friendlier to a paying customer. I've read the other reviews of this place and noticed a follow on comment of a review will only be commented on by the owners if it's a 4 star or above. The honest and truthful lower rated reviews aren't commented on. I'd give this place less than 1 star if I could just for a lack of customer service. Bought a lawnmower and trimmer from them 7/17. Looked around at alot of other places, including the big box stores. Chose to buy from them because; 1. Their salesman was right there to help you. 2. He knew his product, he doesn't work there one day and plumbing the next. I asked a lot of questions and he knew the answers to anything I could ask without having to look it up. He listened to my needs and showed me several options and didn't push me one way or another. 3. Their full line of products were all there, assembled and available for you to look at. 4. You walk past the parts department to get to the sales department. Yes, they have parts, lots of parts. It was large, clean and looked organized. 5. They service what they sell. This was a big selling point for me. In all found them friendly, knowledgeable and they made the experience easy and left feeling like I had made the right decision. read more

This place sold my husband the wrong part and in turn, when he discovered it, they refused to take the part back or give us credit towards the right part. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. They don't know what they're talking about and then the customer has to pay for their mistake. Terrible place. Bought a Diesel engine Grasshopper Mower from Straight 's Lawn & Garden. The month I paid it off it had engine trouble. I took the mower to the service department, they kept it for three weeks then had me pick it up. I took it home started it up & it now has a leak in the radiator so I loaded it up & took it back the same day. The shop manager told me "Oh I know what your getting at". They kept it another 3 weeks & only put stop leak in it instead of fixing the problem that they created plus they charged me for it. Extremely disappointed in this company! read more

Went in for a lawnmower part. Had all the required serial numbers, model numbers etc. even had photos of the engine. The ladies at the desk we playing on computers, wouldnt look up the part and said never looked at the photos we had of said numbers to see if they carried the part. Terrible customer service. Bought a Gravely zero turn 2 years ago from Straights. Studied and reviewed several brands first before buying the Gravely. The staff at Straights was the reason I chose them and spent $5800. Extremely helpful, patient, and thorough on my purchase. When you treat the customer like Colby and the staff did me, you get repeat business and 5 stars. In fact, my dad just bought a Gravely as well 3 months ago from Straight's because of how well they treated him. Taking my mower back soon to have the spring tune up done - just like I did last year. Always helpful, always courteous, and they don't repair or replace anything unless it actually needs it or hours on mower dictate it. read more

I went straights for the first time yesterday to get parts for my self propelled mower. They seemed to have a lot of parts and the lady that helped me was very nice. One of the parts was a drive belt. When I put the belt on it was too long and did not work. After looking I realized I had given the wrong part number.....That ones on me. The belt was $19.00. Previously, I had tried other belts that were supposed to work on my mower, selected independently from the oem part number. These did not work. So I went back today to hopefully get the right belt. Did not try to get a refund on the belt bought from them previously because I had started the mower with it on....again my error. I told the lady at the counter what my issues were and was confident that the that the number was right and the lady agreed....cool. she brought the belt up to the counter and I compared the length to the old belt.....they appeared the same. I questioned this because I had accurately measured the old belt and new it was too long. I was a bit skeptical since have been having trouble finding the right part and did not want to waste more money and time. I asked if I could fit this belt on the mower without starting it to visually tell if it would work. If not could I return it....no harm no foul. The answer was no...ok..cool. I was about to ask if we could maybe find a slightly short belt to substitute...but the older lady next to the person who was helping me looked at me and then told the other lady, very rudely, IT'S Time TO MOVE ON...IT IS THE RIGHT PART. I was taken back by this and told them I do appreciate that rudeness. The older lady would not look at me or say anything else. I told them I was just trying to avoid any further problems and did not doubt it was the right part. Soooo I paid another 19.00 for the belt and proceeded to leave. I told them again I did not appreciate being rudely cut off while trying to explain myself and would not come back to their store. Should not have written so much but feel a negative review deserves fair explanation. I deal a lot with the public in my side business and would never speak to customer like that. I guess when you are an established business and have sell a lot of parts and high end equipment you can afford to be that way to folks only spending 19.00. read more

Brought a blower for what I thought was warranty work, they installed a carburetor and charged me. When I took it back because it didn't run they adjusted it but still insisted it was my fault with the old one. I was told the old carb had rust in it but the old one still had gas in it so was never opened. read more

They installed a fireplace door for my parents. It wasn't until we had another company install gas logs we realized the doors were not installed properly. They were not screwed into the brick. When I asked them to come out and take a look and help fix it, they accused me of tampering with it. There isn't even a hole in the brick where anything was attached and the bracket is several inches from the brick. In another place the screw is almost touching the brick. This is horrible, taking adantage of the elderly is unacceptable and not being willing to even investigate or take is look is terrible customer service. read more

DISGRACEFUL customer service. The mechanics do not know how to diagnose simple faults and default to changing any random parts and then charging the Customer. Guess what problem not fixed and you have to pay again. This happened to me 4 times. An absolute disgrace. With out doubt the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. Furthermore there OEM parts cost at least 50% and in some cases 150% more than you can get from the manufacturers websites. I find It shocking they are ripping off hardworking Americans. I would NEVER recommend this outfit to anyone. You have been warned. read more
