This was such a fun place to experience in Kansas City!! We came with a group of 15 at around 6:00 on a Friday and it was pretty packed but still super fun!! The chicken teriyaki at the Japanese restaurant was not what I expected, but really good! The portion was very small, so I had to go back and get sushi for a full meal. The beef pho was very rich in flavor and overall everything was executed well. Another fun thing about this area is the ice cream place next door which had really quality ice cream! I love Strang Hall. It's a huge eclectic food emporium. I love going there. I'm a huge fan of mocktails and they have some good drinks. It's hard to choose. Then it's hard to drink just one. I love Brussel sprouts. I crave them. Especially Strang's. The sweet and savory little smackers are fantastic. And there's a lot of them. They fill me up. Easy ordering from the ap. But, if you don't like ordering from an ap, the employee at the Brussels sprouts place (starts with an A, the very back), will get snippy and snap: "You have to use the ap. If it doesn't work, go to the guy standing by the bar." And swish you away. That kind of ruined the ambiance. Barring that, I have my rotation: Beer Kitchen's zucchini fries: a stack of breaded zucchini sticks laid in a Jenga type tower. Beer Kitchen also has pretzel sticks. They are huge! But the sauce is a mustard sauce, (yuck) some kind of cheese sauce, and an apple sliver. These minus mustard sauce are on my rotation. As for desserts, I bought another mocktail. Ok best kept secret in town for ... COFFEE. The farmers market is great, but the lines are so long for coffee! We went to Strang Hall with the intent to use the restrooms (which btw are very clean!) and low and behold, Strang Coffee was there. I got a vanilla bean latte which was delicious. The space recently updated so you can order food at your table. Most folks have to order from downloading the app. You get to still pickup you own food, drinks, napkins, and silverware. Ended up enjoying Nikko Fried Rice from Tora Zushi. Kinda pricey for the food, but while the serving size is okay the flavor is pretty average. I would love to see a sauce or sides counter to help folks flavor up there meals. Tables with chairs are nice and table with bence like seating is okay for larger group. I love visiting food halls when traveling because there's truly something for everyone, and you can mix and match dishes from different spots. At Strang Food Hall, I especially enjoyed that each restaurant shares a little story behind its name, it adds a thoughtful, personal touch to the experience. During our December 2025 visit, we tried a few dishes from Anousone and grabbed a pizza from Norcini. There's also a sushi spot, a bar, a café, and a taco place, so it's easy to please even the pickiest eater in your group. The best meal in the place is the Birria Quesadillas by far. Anytime I've ordered anything different I've always been disappointed, and tonight was no different. I decided to try the lasagna because I love my lasagna made with Italian sausage. On the menu it clearly states two options one with and one without Italian sausage of course, I opted for the one with the Italian sausage. That would've been great however I could not taste the Italian sausage. They served it in a bowl and the bowl had some kind of a liquid in the bottom. My husband and I went to Strang Hall the other day to get something to eat. There are a variety of restaurants and we went there specifically because some of them have gluten-free choices. Strang hall has a lot of seating and is very clean and the bathrooms were generally clean and modern. The people that cleaned and worked the front desk upon entering were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I don't particularly care for is the ordering system for the restaurants themselves. I don't like having to use an app and it seems like some of the workers are so used to people using the app that if they're asked a question they don't like it. I like to order my food person to person so I can ask a question especially with having celiac and even just ask about a dish. Also, we were not quite sure whether you had to sit in the seating that was kind of directly across from the place you ordered from. Then we realized later on that you can really sit anywhere because you will be the one to go pick up your order and they won't have to bring it to you. So that part is positive, especially if there are less crowded areas. I would go back to try another restaurant or two, but most specifically the coffee shop they have there. read more

I didn't know what to expect before I came here, but the inside is so much classier than anything I had pictured. My fiancé and I ordered various food and drinks and enjoyed all of it. Love Strang Hall, mostly for the righteous dining options. I can verify that four of them are top notch. (Have yet to try the other two). My advice is to have your mind made up in advance. Otherwise you risk walking around in circles under a haze of indecisiveness and fear of lost opportunities. My point is, everything looks good. There is a full bar, self serve drink stations, and a spacious, comfortable seating area. The order takers are super friendly. Every menu choice I make is met with utmost approval! I split the Hearty Yellow Curry with veggies and Sticky Rice plate with lemongrass beef from Anousone. It was so good that there wasn't a speck of food left. We made the rounds this visit and tried a little bit of everything: * Grilled Bread & Ricotta (Solstice): Honestly, this was a standout. The bread was perfectly toasty on the outside, soft on the inside, and that whipped ricotta? So creamy, with just the right drizzle of honey. Simple, but so satisfying. * California Roll (Tora Zushi): Fresh and clean. A classic done well--not overly fancy, just solid sushi that hit the spot. * Banh Mi (Anousone): Great balance of flavors. The pork was tender, and the pickled veggies had the right bite. The bread held up well too, which can be rare with banh mi. * Fries (Fenix): Can't go wrong here. Crispy, golden, and not too salty--definitely worth grabbing as a side, or just to snack on while everyone else decides what they're ordering. * Bonus Treat - Boba from Strang Café: Sweet little surprise to finish things off! Here's what I love about Strang Hall - it really does have something for everyone. So it's great to bring a group of people who may have varying ideas of 'what's good'. When we went, I got the Banh Mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich with pickled veggies - carrots, cilantro, jalapenos, pickled cucumbers, three-spice hoisin sauce and yummy aioli sauce. It was absolutely awesome! The staff at Anusone (one of the many shop/vendor options) were great too - very friendly; it seemed like they enjoyed their jobs. This is a little bit of a drive for us, but it's so worth it!! Strang Hall is my favorite place for food in downtown OP because of the amazing options they have! Whenever I go, I like to get the unagi roll at the sushi place, and I've heard good things about the other dishes served as well. The outdoor area is also amazing, and I love that it's walking distance from Thompson Park for anyone who wants to get their food to-go and have a picnic! In my experience there's not a ton of interaction with staff, but from what I remember of my last visit they run things well and do a great job overall. Pizza, salads, burgers, sushi, Asian food like curries and stir fry, desserts, shakes and coffee. They also have a full bar with a good cocktail list and multiple beer on draft. You can order at the individual stall or place order using your phone from the table. You can also place order ahead of time to either eat in or to go. The best part is that there is plenty of seating and plenty of parking. They also have a great outdoor seating area which comes in handy with the large play area for both kids and adults. There are multiple water stations and self serve condiment stations inside the hall. The chairs are very comfortable and there is seating for large groups and small groups. The two times I've been to the OP Strang Hall have been great! The first time I tried sushi from Tora Zushi and the second I tried the burrata from Norcini. Both were very good. My husband has had the fried rice from Tora Zushi three times because it's so good. Walking by each restaurant makes it hard to choose because everything looks very good. I'll probably end up trying everything at least once. The staff and bar tenders are all really nice and accommodating too. All the food feels upscale enough for a date night but it is still kid friendly with a nice outdoor area and high chairs available. read more

We had an event here in their private room and it was AMAZING. Seriously, Strang Hall is the perfect solution for any group - even if you do not choose to use their private room. When dealing with a group, somebody is always going to complain because they don't like the cuisine. But here, they can choose from SIX full menus. Statistically, your chances of pleasing everybody just skyrocketed. It was a dream come true to find Strang Hall. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. The food was out of this world. Prices were ** extremely reasonable ** - even with today's inflation. Service was ten steps higher than "above and beyond" and they got the food out fast. Various menus had vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian items available. There was truly something for everyone. The facility was sooo clean. The noise level was manageable - even though the place was packed. They are fully handicap accessible and one of our guests in a wheelchair had no issues. Parking was a bit of a bear, but there's not much they can really do about that! Reserving up the private room was a breeze, and their events team was so easy to work with. With six different food vendors in a food-court style set-up, if you can't find something to eat at Strang Hall, you should probably just stay home. I'm finding that trying to view the menu online is a horrific nightmare - this should be way easier. We shouldn't be redirected to toasttab and have to pretend to schedule a pick-up order simply to see the menu online. There should be a single button on the home page that says OP MENU and immediately pulls up a pdf of all 6 vendors listed one after the other. Home Page + 1 click = my eye balls on the menu. Now I can't even navigate back to the original website... *thirty minutes later* I'm now invested ok here's the current workflow: Homepage \ Overland Park \ Menus \ *vendor* \ View Menu \ Toast Tab \ *pretend to Schedule Order* \ eyes on menu (and it's not even like the UI of toasttab was worth all that). Absolutely ridiculous, someone please fix this or tell me where I'm going wrong.
