It was a really cute little restaurant! There is not a whole lot of space but I really liked the design and space. The food was very good the flavor was on point and my favorite was the hash browns they were buttery and crunchy. My wife and I shared the meat lovers breakfast burrito and it was good size and filled with the filling. The sauce on top had a little kick to it but that could have been the veggies on top, but would get it again. Our friend got the breakfast enchiladas and said it was very good, she likes the green sauce over the red. I didn't personally try so I can't say how it was. My son ordered the traditional breakfast, and that's exactly what it was, but he liked it. The pancakes are the size of the plate and had a fluffy center and crispy edges. We did have to ask for more syrup because they were so big. The only reason it was not a 5 was because I felt the waitress could have been around more. I felt that since we had a group of 7 and the gratuity was already added she didn't worry about it. Our waters went empty and we had to ask a different waiter for more water and syrup, when she came over the water was warm and didn't have any ice. A kid spilled her syrup we went and asked for a rag and we cleaned it up which we expected but we had to flag someone down to see if she could get more syrup. I just felt she wasn't as attractive as she could have been. We went there on a Monday around 9:45, so it wasn't extremely busy. I would say that you should try it, it was good food! read more

We found this restaurant on Yelp and we were not disappointed. Our server Angel answered all of our questions and provided recommendations since it was our first time. I got a salmon frittata.My husband got a burrito and my kids got the chocolate chip pancakes. All with the food was amazing.The fritata was cooked perfectly, and they did not skimp On the salmon, the hash browns were cooked really well, they could have used a little bit more seasoning for me, but I added a little bit of ketchup, and it was good. Next time Icome into town, I want to try their potato rancheros. All staff was amazing, and even told us about how some of their specials came about. The food came out fast and fresh. The parking can be a little tricky because it is shared with other businesses. They are open Monday Tuesday Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Sunday from 7 AM to 2 PM. Can't wait to go back! read more

This place. In 2 words authentically delicious. This neighborhood boozy breakfast brunch spot is all the things. I popped in Labor Day weekend and it was humming. We put our name on the list and while every table was packed with diners - the wait felt short. No more than 15 min. This spot has a homey and comfy diner feel. Angel was our server. He was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and a great mixologist. Yep - he also made our cocktails. The food was so good. You can tell everything is fresh. The menu has popular Mexican dishes like chilaquiles and more. Vegetarian and gf options are on the menu too. My friend ordered the meat breakfast burrito. It was a generous potion. She asked for a side of pico. They didn't have any so they made some just for her?!? What!! That's dedication and extraordinary customer service. My food was so good that I forgot to take a pic. I ordered the migitas - eggs with corn tortillas. It was sooo delicious and a good sized portion. Small midtown breakfast/ brunch place with a Mexican flair. The place is loud but has a nice urban casual feel. The server was excellent - friendly, warm and polite, but not too intrusive. Despite amazing offerings such as migas or chilequiles, I opted for one of the Benedicts. Tasty and fresh, and the poached eggs were done correctly. Service is good, slow on weekdays, so a good time to grab late breakfast, or busy on the weekends. Ambiance is a well lit room with good natural light from big front windows. My overall rating is 4.5. Let's start with the food: I had the Huevos Rancheros. I have to admit I've not tried this at a lot of places, but I did based on other reviews. It was excellent. They come with two eggs, any style, and a side. I chose the rancheros potatoes. This is a meal I will crave and drive me to come back. The atmosphere is a little loud, but I enjoy the activity of happy chatter while I'm out. The only partially negative comment I have is the slower than expected service. I know it was busy, but it seemed to take longer than I expected. The good thing was the food was hot, so it's still a win. It's definitely worth a try read more

Selected sunrise to be our book club brunch gathering on a Sunday morning. Our party was seated quickly in spite of them being busy. The service was attentive for our entire visit. Due to other reviews, I chose the breakfast enchiladas, one green and the other white. I thought the mix of the two made a good contrast of flavors. The enchilada is basically filled with egg and onion that still had a crispy bite due to the toasting of the enchilada corn tortilla. My side of fruit was a good mix of pineapple, blueberry, boysenberry, and strawberries - very sweet and fresh. This is the third Mexican themed brunch choices, I have visited and really like all the choices on their menu. Love this place - the food, the vibe, the people. One of my favorite casual breakfast places in Kansas City. My wife and I popped in here on a whim many visits ago and it's been one of our go-to brunch places since. Service is always great (albeit sometimes dishes can take a while to come out - but well worth it in my opinion). Food is awesome. I love their cinnamon-y coffee. When the food came we ate so fast I forgot to take a picture. This is a MUST stop restaurant. We had the Migitas & mushroom omelette. For two Mexicans who are picky about their mexican food this place is amazing. They have s great Mexican selection but also really good American selection as well!!! You musssstttt get the breakfast papas. I also got a vanilla iced coffee and it was amazing. So gooood. I love that the genre of Southwest brunch has really picked up steam here in KC, who isn't a big fan of huevos rancheros done right? When this place was suggested to me for brunch in December, I jumped at the opportunity. The first thing you'll notice about Sunrise On 39th is the location. It's located next to Missie B's and much to my surprise had a small, but much appreciated, parking lot. It's so inconspicuous I nearly missed it! If you head here be sure to use your map and trust your gut - the signage is small, but it's there! After parking I was a bit surprised at how empty it was inside - I think from the hype I was expecting a bustling environment but it was quiet on this weekday morning. I ordered the breakfast enchiladas and they were really good! I had fruit as a side and I left feeling really satisfied. The breakfast enchiladas are not too heavy, and the flavor profile reminded me of the enchiladas I grew up with, which gave me a sense of nostalgia. I didn't get coffee or anything special to drink as I'd already had my caffeine quota for the day so I can't comment on that.
