Hmight prices, very short, poorly put together, use one of the big name haunted houses for the price

EXTREME RISK OF HEARING DAMAGE. (My visit took place on 10/31/2024.) The General Admission experience is probably the worst experience I've ever had. The line moves extremely slowly and most of the time not at all. This wouldn't be awful, except that the line winds back and forth directly in front of an extremely loud public address system. The loud audio is relentless and verges on torture, as you cannot move (of course, you can cover your ears if you don't want to use your hands for anything else). On top of that, two performers rode in and out on motorcycles, revving their engines nearly the entire time in an enclosed space, while an announcer with a grating voice berated the audience into making additional noise. I almost got the impression that the business model is to assault General Admission customers with hearing-damaging volumes in an effort to get them to upgrade to the VIP experience and rake in more cash! Well, it worked. My partner and I are extremely protective of our hearing and regularly attend live music events. We normally carry ear protection at all times, but we didn't think we'd need it for a haunted attraction. Wrong! We were maybe able to endure the high SPLs for 10 or 15 minutes before we relented and walked back to the ticket booth to upgrade to VIP. At the ticket booth, I mentioned the high volume levels to an employee and was told that the volume level was the same as it had been all season. If that's the case, this business should be held accountable for the hearing damage that has likely been caused to ANYONE who stood in that General Admission line this season. Projected wait time was 60 minutes. The combination of the long wait time and proximity to the extremely loud audio is inexcusable and shameful. I was invited to speak to the owner, which I declined as it seemed very likely that my complaints would not be heard. Despite some register problems, I received my VIP upgrade quickly. The VIP line was very short and I entered the haunt after a few minutes. The haunt itself was very well done; I'd describe it as "unhinged." That said, there were several moments where customers are again subjected to extremely loud sounds once inside (trombone directly to the head, air horns, high-pressure compressed air). These were relatively minor offenses, compared to the GA line experience I mentioned, but rather unpleasant after already suffering from fatigued hearing. Would I recommend? Maybe... if you don't care about your hearing, or you have adequate hearing protection available while waiting an eternity in the GA line. Had I chosen the VIP upgrade from the beginning, I would have likely had a good experience and bypassed the worst of it. We were on our way to the haunted forest but got tricked by the circus. This was incredible and well done. There was a line on a Thursday so we went for the fast pass. Worth the extra in my opinion. Don't read if you don't want spoilers- My favorite parts- the doors and hallway getting smaller, strobe light with mask guy. He was creepy and in my face and freaking me out. The spinning part with the bridge. Trips your mind. Then the floor after. The huge fat man. And more. So fun. Makes me feel young again read more

My Lady Friend & I tried to go on a Tues Night, I bought the FastPass & the Tickets Specifically Said "Mon-Thurs Nights". We tried to come that Tues Night & the Haunted Attraction wasn't even Open. All they said was there was Paintball there. WTF?? I paid $100 for a Scare with Mon-Thur night, I'm Pretty Sure Tues Qualifies on that range, and they can't Stay Open on All Those Nights?! Overall, I really liked my experience at The Haunted Circus. I hate haunted houses, but I would highly recommend it for someone looking to go to a Haunted House. Pros: The costumes are good. The sets in each room are well made. The actors did a great job. The twisting of the hallways and uneven floors make for some good surprises. They used some fun visual effects. Cons: We waited over an hour to get in. (Admittedly, we want on a Saturday night) They make you walk through foam at the beginning of the experience, so you're wet and uncomfortable for the rest of the time. Also, multiple people in my group got touched by the actors. We didn't sign up for that. read more

Summary: 2 hour wait, 15 minute zombie hunt/maze. Not worth the cost or time. Stopped by tonight at 8:30pm for the Zombie Hunt which sounded pretty cool based on the website. Bought tickets online, waited in the zombie line for 30 mins, then a staff member told us to go wait in the ticket line to get our paper tickets, then waited there only to find out that our phone tickets were fine. Went back to the original line and waited 1.5 hours to finally get inside. That sucked. Then the "hunt" only lasted 15 minutes max and was pretty terrible. It's basically a short haunted house maze with 3 stops along the route to shoot paintball guns that are mounted to the table. You have a hopper with 15-20 paintballs inside, and you can shoot at a small group of zombies walking toward you. The zombies were wearing masks, but it looks like they had very little protective gear and they had their hands tucked into their hoodie pouches. I hope that these folks are getting adequate padding and protection! I'm sure that stuff hurts if all they have on are hoodies and masks. If you're looking for something worth spending your money on that's scary, I highly recommend Nightmare on 13th (5/5 stars) and Fear Factory (3.5/5 stars). read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. Where do I start? Unless you are willing to pay for fast pass don't expect anything other than a 2+ hour wait. We were there at 7 with only two rows of a line. Took us an hour and a half to get through. They would let five groups of fast pass people to every 1 group of the regular line. By the time we got to the front the entire room of regular purchase lines were filled. It was 9 pm. NO WAY they would get through that line by midnight. Excuses by staff were made and "it's worth the wait" was thrown around a few times. Well...it was not worth the wait. It was lame. Understaffed. Poor lighting. Dangerous, wet ramps since we went while it was light raining. Puddles everywhere. Soaked shoes, not at all scary. No scares, just lame. We all just wanted out after a very short time. i rate this 2 stars. first they didn't really space people out they had me n my boyfriend go in a group of 10 which took away the affect. most of the actors seemed to be 12 and under and wouldn't even scare you.they'd just stand there n hope you get scared. you would walk a lot just through dark places n nothing would happen there were barely any actors. if the actors were a little more older and they added a contact option, it'd be great. we enjoyed it but that's the things we experienced. read more

The Foam Room entry is pretty shocking and intense. I kind of loved that, but everything else was sort of anticlimactic. Paid for the VIP upgrade which was totally worth being able to skip the line, but once we got past that, the never ending in and out of semi trailer after semi trailer became redundant and not very fun. I believe it is also worth noting here that the majority of the staff working was VERY YOUNG, which is fine except for the fact that they allowed a group in (in front of us so we got a free show) that was visibly intoxicated to the point of stumbling and barely being able to walk. One woman was being held up by multiple people in her group as they walked through. I am no prude, but heavily intoxicated adults wandering around taunting children working in a spook alley with no visible security could become problematic quickly. I feel like they created an unsafe environment for the talent and there was no one to report this to. read more

The haunted circus was by far the WORST halloween attraction, i'm most definitely sure a cheap neighborhood haunted house would beat it by far. It was understaffed, me and three other people walked straight through it without even flinching, ALSO i scared the actors more than they scared me. It was not worth $50 for two tickets. Worked here for 6 years. Pay has always been bad but with the new owners this year I had some hope that the things I had problems with would be fixed. The casting manager told everyone at auditions that drama was not tolerated and yet when I told her that some kid was throwing rocks at peoples heads during auditions, nothing was done about it. They had us write down any health conditions and days that we absolutely could not work and that was ignored. They've put a couple people with epilepsy into strobe light rooms and someone with asthma into a fog room. An actor with epilepsy had a seizure last week because of this. One girl was told her "body shape was intimidating for a girl" and she was put in chainsaw, this comment took a huge blow to her self esteem and it is never appropriate to comment anyone's body, especially not your employees. I have autism and can't wear the masks they use because of my sensory issues but I was met with frustration when I asked to not wear a mask. I already quit but I keep getting my coworkers messaging me about the horrible crap the casting manager has done/said. My coworker(who's also been there for 6 years) voiced her concerns and has been threatened then terminated. A girl got punched in the face and when she told the casting manager she blamed her for "being in his space" even though we work in narrow trailers that barely have space to move around anyway. There's always been safety hazards with this job(so much so that idk how they haven't gotten OSHA on their butts) but it's never been blamed on the victim until this year. They blame the young actors for going to a trusted adult instead of the directors, having no empathy or awareness that some people have anxiety and they act like they're just spreading rumors when they're just telling someone they trust to relay the problems they've had. The casting manager has gone on rants about how frustrating it is when people complain about their spot but 1. They employ CHILDREN obviously children are going to complain sometimes, and 2. In the past we were given some opportunities to choose which spot we wanted to be in and now there's no chance of being able to choose a spot which leads to 3. Them giving special treatment to the actors they deem "favorites" and only giving tent spots to them even though it's known throughout the haunt that everyone's favorite spot is in the tent. This has always been the case but they don't pay us til the end of the haunt and still expect everyone to have the gas money to make it 13 nights in order to get paid and then constantly are talking about how they don't have enough employees. The whole thing is so sketchy and I don't know how they haven't had legal issues. The casting manager has been so inappropriate and unprofessional and should not be in charge read more

Haunted houses aren't my thing but i thought it was pretty well done. Got a two for one price so it made it worth it. Normally i think haunted houses are overpriced (25 bucks a person... nah) but the two for one sure did help. Pro tip: Don't go sober and you'll have a lot more fun. With a few drinks in your system you're willing to take the more childish route to fun and not be so critical of everything. Booze kicks anything up from a 3 to a 4 in my book. read more

The Haunted Circus is a fun concept! If you go I recommend going in a small group 2-6 people and be prepared to wait for a while, and check the weather. The original wait time when we got there was 70 minutes, and it wasn't worth it to us to wait that long so we upgraded to the VIP which we still waited to go in. Once we were in, it was childish clown costumes, mask, and nothing truly that scary. There are a lot of young children throughout so be prepared to have kids scream in your ears, and shoot air guns to leave your ears ringing the whole night. I am pretty bummed I didn't jump once, nor was scared for anything. They missed a lot of opportunities to scare people, just understaffed in my opinion. But it was ok, good decorations, just not scary. But its the season for haunted houses, so it had good decorations. read more

I hate hate hate haunted houses. I love everything Halloween/scary, but you aren't getting me into a haunted house at gun point. No gun was used, but I was forced to come here with some friends. I was not happy, and expected to have a horrendous time. I was wrong. The outside is super cool, and you kind of get the feeling that you are about to star in a Rob Zombie film. It was a cool coincidence, but Rob Zombie was blaring upon walking in. Before you can get in line, a clown offers to take your photo with another clown. You get two prints for $10, and I personally thought it was worth it. See the photos I added to the business to see for yourself. While waiting in line, they offer entertainment. They play really scary/cool clown videos on a projector, and they have clowns walking around attempting to scare you. I don't want to spoil the haunted house for anyone, but make sure you don't wear flip flops. A friend in my group wore two flip flops in, and only came out with one. Her pants were also covered in pee, but there's nothing you can do to prevent that. I am glad I came, I had a great time, and I won't be back! read more

Wow! This is the best haunted house experience in the whole state. I have been to some pretty fun and scary haunted house experiences in my time, but, this one takes the cake. It was colorful, creative, and fun and funny. Best $20. dollars I ever spent. It is mostly for pre- teens, Teens and adults. read more

I like that they spread out the groups going through so it's like you are all alone in the haunt with your friends. We went to Fear Factory and Strangling brothers. Fear factory was better with better affects. We hated the foam, it wasn't scary and only makes you wet, cold and uncomfortable the entire time. There were endless ups and downs going in and out of semi trucks. Lots of long hallways with nothing scary. Seemed like there were a lot of open areas where actors could have been placed. Wasn't very scary. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I've attended Strangling Brothers for a couple of years in a row now. We had a good time as we always do. It does have some unique things that you don't see at other haunts. They have some fun sets, and do a fairly good job of making you feel like this really is a traveling circus. Downsides, if you aren't scared of clowns (I'm not. I just can't find them scary.) There isn't a ton to be afraid of. They do have some good scares in there still and I did enjoy myself. If you are scared of clowns, this place will most likely wreck you. It is, after all, a circus themed show. As a side note, the line entertainment is pretty good as well. read more

We paid $46.00 and waited in line for just short of TWO HOURS. First off, you enter a pitch black walkway with an uneven floor. Great for rolling your ankles. Pitch black- I get it, it's scary. But, the seriously uneven floor does nothing to add to the experience except risk injury. They let people in, in big groups so if you're not right up front- every surprise is ruined for you. It's extremely crowded, and there are even lines inside of the house after you get through the huge line outside! I was not remotely scared at any given time here. You can anticipate practically every actor there, and in fact multiple actors said "dang it. I'm sorry, I didn't hear you coming." I guess it was good for entertainment from a theatrical standpoint - but definitely not worth the ~$50. All you get here is actors walking up to you and staring at you, and a potential broken ankle. Save your money and go to Nightmare on 13th, which is cheaper and actually terrifying. I was on edge there my whole visit. Here at strangling brothers all I received was a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I am a clown at Asylum 49 and I went through Strangling Bros. tonight with some of my fellow clowns (and our possessed priest and nun)- well when I went through Strangling Bros did have some cool props and that train room scared me to death, but there were MAJOR problems they had.... First, the makeup. A SIGNATURE THING THAT A CLOWN HAS IS MAKEUP!!! Half of the clowns had their real face and a couple of fake bruises...... What is so scary about that? Someone who is afraid of clowns wouldn't even think they are clowns Second, staying in character. Most of the clowns spoke in normal voices that you would hear them talk in everyday....... And the actors didn't even know their parts!!! A clown looked at my shirt and said "Oh you're from Asylum 49? I should go there sometime" First of all, you live with the circus, you can't leave. Second of all, a different haunted house shouldn't be familiar to a clown. Last, you should never , EVER say BOO or GET OUT. I don't care if you are joking and trying to scare someone who is afraid of clowns BOO is not scary. And if you say GET OUT to someone when they get into your room, it doesn't make sense... A murderer wants you to come closer to them so they can kill you. HOW CAN YOU DO THAT IF YOU TELL THEM TO GET OUT?!?!?!?!?????!? This is easily my favorite haunted house! The layout is really cool and freaky, and the line moves fast to get in. Once we were in, it was a long haunt, well over 35 minutes. They do an awesome job changing things up and adding new twists each year. This year IT did not disappoint! We went as a group from work and everyone had a blast. Went to the Haunted Circus for my first time this past Saturday night, and I will say it's legit and quite intense. It had several areas that were almost pitch-black, surprises lurking around every corner, and careful use of lighting, fog and sound effects to keep you on your toes. It ranks right up there with Nightmare on 13th and Fear Factory. I don't want to spoil too much, but I will say the railroad tunnel scene in the last trailer got me to jump pretty good, and this is coming from somebody who doesn't scare easily. The walk-thru part itself lasted at least thirty minutes from the tent to the ramp leading out of the last semi trailer. read more

This haunted house was more funny than it was scary and that's sad coming from someone who is easily frightened. I had more laughs in this place than screams. There was one part where the whole room was a smoke room. You couldn't see anything because there was so much smoke. I was hurrying to get out because I could not breathe. I thought I was about hack up a lung. Although I didn't find it as scary, it was still entertaining and other than the horrid smoke room, it was a fun (not scary) experience overall. read more

Creepy fun time. Went with my 12 year old son and and a friend. We had a ball. Definitely a unique experience in Utah and worth it.

I took my 4 kids to the Zombie Hunt tonight and It cost $15 for 5 minutes per person of shooting paintballs at stationary targets. When the zombies came out they were completely hidden when in range. I told management that I thought it was a rip off. He said $15 was a good deal and left it at that. I would discourage anyone from the event. read more

This isn't a review for the actual haunted house, we just did the 'Zombie Hunt' and let me just say it was SUPER LAME! I'm all for cheesy fun, but this was 10 minutes of sheer disappointment. It wasn't scary, the zombies are no where close to you, the guy just yells at you the whole time for no reason and the zombies hardly came out from behind their hiding spots.
