I've been using Strasburg vet clinic for 6 years now for all our animal needs. They have seen our cows, dogs and horses. All the vets and staff have always been great to work with. One of my dogs had 2 TPLO surgeries and his care and recovery was great both times. Having a board certified surgeon on staff is so handy for our small town. Not having to drive into Denver or Aurora for surgery and follow up appointments was huge for me. My animals and I are a forever client of Strasburg veterinary clinic. read more

I can't thank Strasburg Vet Clinic enough for their amazing, kind, and compassionate care recently when having to make the difficult decision to set our dear Macy free from her pain and suffering. It had become unfortunately clear that Macy was not enjoying life anymore and couldn't eat or enjoy all the things she used to. Our local vet doctor was out of town when we realized that we couldn't put off this decision any longer. Not knowing what to do or where to go we were kindly referred to Strasburg Vet Clinic. They were able to accommodate us right away and were ready for us immediately after making the 45 minute drive to the clinic. The compassion, empathy, and love we so badly needed on this day was nothing short of amazing and a blessing. The staff at the clinic were able to give us many different options and let us decide where we wanted to be and how we wanted to go about this most difficult process. Their practice had really gone down hill over the last couple of years and truly only care about your money when they used to be about the animals (big or small). I highly recommend looking at other vets who might actually care about your animal instead of your wallet......they charged us $200-$300 in bandages for my horse when that could have gone to xrays and today 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment they called saying they no longer offered the rattlesnake vaccines for horses (this appt has been scheduled for weeks) and then charged me 15 extra miles (have receipts for years showing 30 miles but today was 45 miles) for the farm call just to make extra money.....will be taking our animals elsewhere moving forward read more

We travel well for ver an hour to see Dr. Reed Hanks. We have a diabetic pup and we started here with our piggy! Unfortunately they don't come all the way to us mobile and Chop Norris is to big to transport But I have to say the whole staff has always taken such beautiful care of my animals! Diabetes is scary and they have educated and helped us along the way. We truly appreciate the emergency situations and being there for us and our sweet pup! After living out on the eastern plains for four years, it seemed about time that I find myself a veterinarian out this way. So a couple weeks back, my pup and I made our way to the Strasburg Veterinary Clinc for her twelve week shots. ++ The staff was super friendly! Mikalya gave me a great run down before I came in about what to expect. ++ Walk-ins welcome! Even encouraged for smaller procedures like vaccinations. ++ The facility appears to be clean and well maintained. They even offer an assortment of products for your furry friends. +/- They can usually get you in for bigger procedures like spays/neuters the same week you call. If you're someone who plans in advance, like me, they only book about a month out at most. -- I wasn't a huge fan of them taking her back without me for her shots. I can def say our first visit was a great experience! I look forward to continuing to come to Strasburg Veterinary Clinic for my pups future needs. read more

I've been really thinking about this review. We used this vet all last summer. We have 7 horses, cows, pigs, dogs, goats and more. They did wonderful for us last year and we felt we were able to build a professional trusting relationship with this office. After specifically speaking to one of the vets last summer about an abused horse we rescued, I took down her advice so I was ready this summer to move forward with their help. This summer (June 2020) I called to make the appointment for them to come and explained to the lady taking the appointments exactly what I was looking for and needing to accomplish. One of the vets we used last summer called me back and explained the previous option was not available so we had no choice really but to try another route. The vet who came out to do all the work on all our horses was not very helpful about the situation at all. We had done the best we could and remember, I even explained the difficult situation to them BEFORE they came to our property. Some where down the line of communication apparently there was a "misunderstanding" about what exactly it was we were dealing with and what exactly we were looking for. This "miscommunication" is honestly not my deciding factor of this review even though it was in itself extremely disappointing. My biggest problem was the vet who came out. She was so extremely rude to us over this situation I honestly can't even believe it. She was snotty and extremely irritated we wasted her time. By their suggestion we had made a shoot for our mare. We fully knew this was not going to work in this particular situation and we were worried about it, however, she still felt it was necessary for the safety of her and her tech. Then she explained to us how unsafe it was to use the shoot for this particular mare and she just couldn't put anyone's safety at risk. We were all extremely confused and irritated by now because we only acted off their previous suggestion. To us it appeared as though it was HER that was afraid of the horse and HER that clearly had no prior knowledge of how to handle a horse like our mare or how to handle the situation. She was quick to shoot down all of our suggestions and quick to make her own yet also very quick to blame us for her suggestions not working. After she left I had thought about the visit and was not real happy about the out come so I called the office. The office staff put me on hold and then put the vet that came out on the phone. She then took the time to explained to me that we had already had a 20 minute conversation and wasn't sure why I had questions and called the office. She also took the time to explain to me that it was not her job to come rodeo my horses for me. First, that vet absolutely ruined the progress we had made with our mare last summer by not listening to us and asking us to try to catch a wild, abused horse we had previously explained to them was unable to be caught. Second, no one ever asked or would ever ask nor expected anyone to come rodeo our horses for us. That was honestly the dumbest statement I have ever heard from someone who is supposed to be a professional, ESPECIALLY when I have been very specific with their office about the problem we have and were trying to solve. She did apologize, but I honestly do not believe her apology was sincere. I really feel she is a horrible person who is very snotty and she treated us as if we were total idiots who knew NOTHING about the animals we have in our care. I think I'm going to have to move our entire ranch care to another vet which I'm sure is no skin off her back. I really feel badly about this and I really feel badly for other ranchers/people who end up with her on their call. read more

i would not recommend going to this vet. first of all we brought our pig to them because he had respiratory problems and they where the only ones that would except us so we brought him in and they took him and brought him to the back and we could hear him breathing heavily and then we left and about a minute later they called us saying his condition was so bad that they basically had to put him down so we came back because we where not going to let them put him down and the reason being is that he was breathing the best in the past three days he was having these problems, but they would not let us take him because it would be too unethical so they basically made us sign papers letting them put him down and that whole time they where arguing with us and making us sign these papers we could not hear his breathing anymore. So we think that they did something wrong and killed him and made us sign those papers to save their own butts. read more

Dogs actually love going to the vet. They treat them well. During covid, they have been communicative on rules of what they need the customer to do for a smooth appointment. Everyone has been friendly on the phone and in person. They answer our questions and are understanding with any of our concerns. read more

I wanted to give strasburg veterinary clinic a great big thank you for their be help and caring for our dog Shadow. We rushed her there after a weekend of her showing signs of illness (We were unable to take her to our regular vet). They were able to let us know she was so I'll that we had to put her down. As we were returning home they called to offer us condolences for her passing. Not many do that nowadays and my husband and I were so touched by their caring. read more

She was very thorough, explained everything she was looking at, and asked me if I had any questions or concerns. She's really knowledgeable, professional, and so laid-back. LOVE this vet clinic. Each time I've came here (quite a lot recently since my new pup has been having some issues after his adoption) the staff has been incredibly friendly, caring, and attentive. My dog trusts them so well and is always right at home with any employee that has him in their care--one of the vet techs even lets my 60 pound boxer sit in her lap while she checks him out. This is my go to clinic for nail trims to medical attention this clinic is the BEST! Reed is awesome and is always available to help me out with my dog and sees him in a timely manner. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, McKenzie exceeded our greeting. Dr. Shireen was very gentle and was very clear on what would happen and how to proceed with care. Terrible customer service by the owner himself and Poor communication! Waited for updates on our dog all day long and no one ever called! Our regular Vet (Dr. Louise) wasn't available at the time. She is Great! but we will never see the owner again, he doesn't seem like a caring person and only cares about charging you for things that aren't necessary. read more

The staff at the Strasburg Veterinary Clinic are life savers! We are traveling cross country with our puppy and 4 year old dog when we noticed the puppy wasn't feeling good. We called their office when we were about 200 miles out of town and started talking with them about what was going on. They were great and worked us in when we arrived in town. They diagnosed his ailment, kept in contact with my vet back home and myself during his treatment and sent us home with medication and a treatment plan. We were so impressed we called the office back the next morning and talked to them about our 4 yr old and some nagging concerns we have had that we felt our local vet had not addressed. They again made time for us and spent all day with our dog, called our vet back home and got records, ran tests and eventually were able to diagnose a medical condition and treat him. We have treatment plans for our dogs and peace of mind that we would not have had otherwise. I would highly recommend this office to anyone considering their services! read more

I recently had an issue with our parrot that required quick treatment and as little stressing as possible. I had a fantastic experience with this clinic and Dr. Chelsea Crogan. They knew me right away (even on phone calls) and exactly what I needed. Took my Abyssinian here after a horrible experience at Seven Hills Vet that I kept hoping they'd make right. I only used them due to my location during that time period. Anyway Dr Luisa was wonderful and got him into surgery within a couple hours and did his surgery correctly and he's doing wonderfully just a day and a half later, he's already back to hunting and trying to get out of house after not caring even about food for almost a week. I should have written a review last summer for Dr Reed when he took care of my Golden. He took great care of her and although she wasn't happy with the cone of happiness no matter what I put in it for her, she made a speedy recovery under his care. I'm very very happy with the care my pets have been given here and will continue to use them even though I live in Bennett and there is a closer vet to me. I believe they truly care for the animals in their practice. Veterinary care is never inexpensive but I feel like they work with me so I can get my pets what they need when they need it. read more

I had been a client of the clinic for several years and had to make an emergency visit. I felt like the vet treated my dog's wound like a text book case and didn't take the time to address her specific situation. They prescribed antibiotics which would have given her an excessive daily dose for 14 days. I consulted another vet- and he recommended 1/2 of the daily dose for 7 days. The treatment we received was over done for her particular injury and when I called to discuss it with the owner he was very dismissive. I wouldn't not recommend this vet- and I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who cares about the quality of care their animals receive. read more

I had an older dog that was treated here. The vet had decided euthanasia was the only solution to his health problems. She did not take into account our feelings at all. She wasted our time and money while minimally treating our dog. I would never take any of my animals back to her. She does not care about what the owner thinks or wants. I moved to Byers in August 2015, and needed to find a close vet to care for my rescue potbellied pigs and my other animals. I had an emergency visit with one pig, had to have my beloved dog put to sleep, and another pig checked out over the last few months. Every visit, I worked with Dr. Reed Hanks. I took my kitty here to have her put to sleep. They are open later than most vets (8:30 pm!) Most vets in town required an "exam", too, undoubtedly to get as much $ as possible because they will never see the animal again once it's gone. Dr. Jen and the staff were wonderful. They didn't make things more traumatic for my old girl by requiring an exam. They let me hold her the whole time and she went with dignity and no pain. When we are ready for another pet, this will be our veterinarian. read more

We have gone to them a few times now. The first time one of our cats got a very large and deep cut just barely above her eye. We put her in the car and drove up there without an appointment. They got her right in got her stitched up, kept an eye on her as it was also our son's birthday and we had celebration plans at Boondocks, until we could get her picked up. She healed quickly and we felt the price was very reasonable. The second time our other cat was very ill and they gave us all the options but ultimately we had to put him to sleep. The staff was incredible during this very upsetting process, then followed up with a sympathy card about a week later. The sympathy/empathy they showed was incredible. Again we felt the price was very fair. A little over a week ago our cat had some infection discharge, I called and got an appointment an hour later. Took her in and while the infection is very serious and potentially life threatening if not treated and they got her all fixed up. Again, kind, caring GREAT with the animals and their customers. I again feel that the price being charged (while an unexpected cost that is never ideal for a family) is fair. I trust them completely with all of our fury loved ones. read more
