We've built great friendships with other families and really feel a sense of community here. The curriculum and structure keep our son engaged and excited to learn--he's grown and developed so much and continues to be challenged in all the right ways. Class sizes are around 12 children and there are two teachers. The classrooms are sized for the ages of children, are clean and very well equipped. Parents drop off in the morning and each child is logged into a computer as well as with face-to-face teacher contact. Sessions are 5 days a week or three days a week and we presently have a five year old going 5 days and a 2.5 year old on the three week schedule. Children bring their lunches which are consumed in the classroom and the sessions end at 1pm. Parents pick up the children and log them off of the computer system. Yes, this is a Christian school, so Bible stories are use to teach as well as to theme art work and other activities. At the end of each day the children leave with a printed summary of what they did activity wise, and which Biblical references were used. The children also take with them any art project they completed. Teachers are superb. The children love them back and there are no tears about going to school, just the opposite. We have been very pleased and even see behavior changes in the grandchildren from the stand point of please and thank-you, how they relate to other children and to adults. A fine operation.

My niece was assigned here for the CMS pre-K program this 2018/2019 school year. The school sits…read moreoff the road and is gated. There isn't much parking in the lot. There are normally 2 small buses parked outside of the school. The school is broken up into a daycare that is in the main building and a trailer that houses 2 classrooms of the CMS pre-K program. I have only been inside the trailer. The trailer has a small lobby, an office or two, restroom and the 2 classrooms. They also have a gated playground area. I'm really enjoying my nieces teachers (Ms. Verdell and Ms. Dixon) and the school is very inviting. It's only September in the school year but I anticipate a good school year. There is lots of communication from the teachers and they have taken a big interest in my niece. The school doesn't have a lunchroom so the class eats inside the classroom. The classrooms are set up like normal classrooms and are very cute with all the fun things little people love (cubbies, water station, painting area, cute themed rugs, computers, etc...). We live about 35 minutes away and are happy with our church, which is closer to home. We knew the church was nice and really enjoyed the services, but we were still very impressed when we came back to tour the GCA side of the church campus. The facilities are new, well maintained, and very clean. The entire staff, from the teachers to the front office, were friendly, kind, and even caring. They definitely helped set a solid foundation for her. I cannot say enough about the job that both teachers did to help with the development of her social skills and character. We would have kept her there for elementary, but the hours and commute were not conducive to my work schedule. I would highly recommend looking into GCA if you are considering preschool or private school in the Lake Norman area.

When my child first started attending in 2023, this center was still operating as Smart Kids, and…read moreour experience was excellent. The teachers were caring, communication was strong, and the leadership team was responsive whenever concerns arose. Unfortunately, after the transition to Learning Jungle, our experience changed significantly. Over time, we experienced frequent turnover among teachers, directors, and assistant directors. In one of my child's classroom alone, there were nearly ten teacher changes during our time there. The lack of consistency made it difficult for children and parents alike, and communication became increasingly inconsistent. My child has documented food allergies, and there were multiple occasions when she was given food she was allergic to despite having an emergency action plan on file and it was not always followed. This was very concerning as a parent. The event that ultimately led us to leave occurred when my child reported being hurt at school by a teacher. I contacted DSS, and both DSS and Learning Jungle later confirmed that video footage showed two staff members physically mishandling my child. While that was upsetting on its own, I was equally disappointed by the response from leadership. My concerns were raised not only with the center director but also with regional and corporate leadership. I did not feel my questions were adequately addressed, and I left those conversations without confidence that my concerns were being taken seriously. There are still some caring teachers at this center, and I appreciate those who positively impacted my child's life. However, based on our experience with staff turnover, leadership instability, allergy-related concerns, and the handling of a serious safety issue, I cannot recommend this facility. I encourage parents to review publicly available reports and conduct their own research before enrolling their child.
