Here's the screenshot of their info on Anthem
    Manda H.

Made an appointment for today because I saw the good reviews and found them on my insurance website under my plan. But then when we got there, the receptionist said we aren't covered. What? So we tried to get more of an explanation and showed her the information we got from the anthem website but she stuck with her story. I guess they were nice enough but it was a waste of time.

I mean, there's no sense of urgency with the staff here but if you're desperate, it'll do.

Great office, great staff, and great doctor! What more can I ask for? Another plus, they speak Spanish AND Tagalog as well.

My experiences have consistently been exceptional, which led me to transfer our care to her new location in Fremont. Two years ago, I encountered an unfamiliar situation regarding my eye exam and contact lenses for the first time. As I was new to the process, I felt a bit lost. After receiving my glasses, I decided to visit another optometry office for my contact lens prescription and exam to avoid the hassle of returning to Fremont constantly, especially since I live quite a distance away. However, I found that making the trip once a year for my family's check-ups was reasonable. Last year, my children, husband, and I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Young. She was incredibly kind and understanding, recommending that I consider both contact lenses and glasses during my visit. I appreciated her approach as it allowed me to take my time in making a decision without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. This year's experience exceeded my expectations. Just four days after purchasing new glasses, my daughter accidentally broke hers. However, Annel, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to assist us. Her kindness and attentiveness made me feel truly heard and valued. There was a moment where I contemplated switching to a different optometry office after two decades of loyalty, but after these recent positive interactions, I've decided to remain with Tri-City. I feel grateful not only for the wonderful care we receive but also for the improvements in staff that have made our experiences even better.

Tri-City Optometry is the gold standard for bad customer service…read more This review is written on behalf of my sister, who is hesitant to post under her own name because she recently purchased an expensive pair of glasses here and is worried about possible issues or retaliation if she needs repairs in the coming year. Dr. Shital Chatwani rushes through the appointment, speaks down to the patient, does not answer questions clearly, and becomes visibly impatient when questions are asked. The entire interaction felt less like a medical appointment and the clear priority seemed to be getting the patient out quickly and into ordering expensive glasses, rather than taking time to explain things or address concerns. It honestly felt like dealing with a businessperson more than a doctor. Unfortunately, the poor experience did not stop with the doctor. The overall leadership and culture of this office seems weak, and it shows in the behavior of the staff. There are many employees walking around, yet when customers have questions, they often say "I'm busy" and walk away without offering to find someone else to help. In a professional practice, you would expect at least a basic effort to redirect you to another staff member. That simply does not happen here. The staff appear selectively nice to people they are trying to secure business from but otherwise the service is consistently rude, rushed, and unhelpful. The overall attitude is 'take it or leave it.' Even when there is no problem, you are treated with disregard. If there is a problem, I would not trust this office to handle it with care or professionalism. There are many excellent optometrists who accept VSP and other insurance plans. I strongly encourage people to look elsewhere and consciously choose to support a practice that actually respects its patients.

I always have gone back to Dr. Flores because she is amazing, kind, and super knowledgeable. She always takes the time to answer my questions and explain things even when their office is very busy (which is always). It makes me feel cared for and I leave feeling like I have a better understanding about my vision. When Dr. Flores has been unavailable, I've also seen Dr. Lam. One time a couple years ago, I had an eye infection and I was desperate to get some antibiotic drops. For some reason, my insurance wouldn't cover the prescription and Dr. Lam did everything she could to make sure we could find a way to get the prescription covered or at least at a lower cost. While I was at the pharmacy, Dr. Lam made herself available in between clients to call me on the phone and ensure things were working out for me. She even offered to speak with the pharmacist themselves. Last but not least, the office manager Sandra has been amazing over the years with her customer service skills and taking care of my needs. When I called to make my annual appointment, I mentioned I was running low on contacts and wanted to come in to update my prescription and order more. When I went in for my visit last week, she had already put together some trial contacts for me to take home because she knows I have a pretty bad prescription and wanted to make sure I didn't go without contacts since it takes about a week for my contact order to ship. On top that, when I went yesterday to pick up my contact order, she offered me to pull up to the curb and she'd bring the box out to me. She handed me the box and sent me home with a little chocolate! That made my day. Overall, the service here at Flores Optometry is amazing and I will continue to be a patient here forever. The other staff members are always VERY kind and helpful and it seems like they do a great job working together and enjoy working together. It's always a pleasant visit and great vibes. THANK YOU :)

They had great reviews and are close to home. I just picked up my first pair of perfect glasses from them! They have equipment my last optometrist did not have. Dr. Flores gave me a very thorough exam and worked with me to dial in my very difficult and different prescription. That was last year. This year, the same great customer service and exam doctor. I actually was able to "walk in" and be seen right after 9 this morning. I highly recommend this office for your eye care needs. Oh, they've got a nice selection of brand names...good stuff!
